  1. Supposedly Victor got a judge to push through a quickie annulment.
  2. So, no one bothers with marriage licenses these days? Did they just cross out Theo's name and put Ben's?
  3. Some legitimate Hollywood directors (like Steven Soderbergh) and actors (like Sir Ian McKellen) are actually making movies using phones so it isn't as out there of an idea as EJ seems to think it is. I'm old and I knew that, I'm surprised someone younger could be so out of the loop. However, EJ really should have at least looked at them or, like you say, had a professional evaluate them. I can see why Johnny would be pissed that EJ just dismissed his idea out of hand. For your father to simply assume you have no talent, or alternatively, that it doesn't matter if he did have talent because EJ isn't going to support him anyway simply because it isn't what EJ wants him to do is pretty harsh.
  4. I don't dislike Gwen, I just dislike the whole Jack's daughter bit. It's making him far too stupid. She was pretty interesting when she showed up and was simply wreaking havoc on people's lives. Now all she does is sit around and whine about how she can't lose Jack as her father - any edge she had is totally gone. She didn't need to be his child to want to cause problems for Abigail. She could have hated Abby because Abby took her parking space one day for all I care.
  5. I remember Paulina saying she was in an abusive relationship - she was physically abused. I thought she was in a consensual relationship until it turned abusive. Did she specifically SAY he raped her?
  6. This X 1000. Lani sucks as a character. Making her a DIFFERENT retcon doesn't make her character any better. Especially making her Stefano's 3,847th (or possibly 4,678th - I've lost count) child. Days basically has business mogul, (meaning you want in on the revolving door CEO at either DiMeara or Titan - I fully expect either Ciara, Chanel or Allie to declare that they are eminently qualified to be CEO's within the next 3 years) doctor or detective/secret agent. Throw in a few miscellaneous jobs for the vets that no one else will be able to do until one of them dies (bar/restaurant owner, lawyer, mayor, newspaper editor, ukulele player.) They don't even bother giving the young crowd jobs anymore - at least there was some drama with everyone being waitstaff.
  7. All Ciara has to say is that Ben did not kidnap her - she ran away . Poof - all kidnapping charges gone. And unless the victim files a complaint (or gets a restraining order that is subsequently violated) the police can do nothing about someone's harassment of another person.
  8. Yes, she delivered drugs once for Dr. Snyder (which neither Eli nor the Salem PD knew) and didn't report that Dr. Snyder died of natural causes and helped dispose of the body. So, yes, she's a criminal, but in the Salem hierarchy there's a really good chance it would all be handwaved away. And just because Julie said she saw Dr. Snyder at the house, she wasn't giving Eli proof of anything - especially since the autopsy revealed Dr. Snyder died of natural causes. Eli really didn't have any reason to hold her, especially since most of her "crimes" were really just lying and having an affair.
  9. Henry the Blanket or even the twins could figure out where Ben took Ciara - THERE ARE ONLY TWO PLACES ANYONE EVER GOES - Kidnap Kabin or the Hideout Motel. The Salem PD really are incredibly stupid aren't they?
  10. Given a choice between a bad magician and mediocre hyperactive dogs, I'd still take the dogs. At least they made me smile. I knew when they brought out the little kid and the falsetto singer that both were going to go through - no drama there. I get that they're trying to get audience involvement with the instant save but why don't they just eliminate any chance of any act winning by announcing that they couldn't even get enough votes to come in higher than 6th, 7th and 8th out of 12. They're the best of the worst? Not going to inspire people to vote for them in the future. I couldn't even sit through a few minutes of the poetry stuff. Yup, a WIDE audience going to line up and pay money to see an entire evening of THAT.
  11. Hated the whole dogs as judges schtick. It was mildly amusing during the auditions but got real old, real quick. I did however like all the manic energy of the dogs running, around and performing. Guess I just like dog acts. Sethward wasn't funny the 9,783 other times I've seen him (wasn't he also a regular on The Gong Show?) If they truly put him in the lives to make sure we never have to see him again, then OK. Otherwise, whoever he has to comprising pictures of needs to decide if them being published is really more embarrassing than acting like Sethward has talent. Magician is hoping his "heartwarming" story will be enough to get past the fact that he's a lousy magician. His trick was boring and hauling his two children on stage just so we remember how wonderful and selfless he is didn't really liven up the act. (Does he think last year's spoken word guy won only because he talked about being a father? Nope, he won because of all those people who would NEVER listen to this stuff in real life voted for him because they thought he was "important" or "relevant" or some such crap.) Didn't bother to watch the chain saw danger act but did manage to catch Simon telling him that the sounds he was making were a bit too theatrical - sort of like "let's all just acknowledge you were in no actual danger and this was supposed to be entertaining so I'm giving you tips on how to improve your performance so it seems less fake." Gospel guys - good harmonies and somewhere there is an audience for them. Diversity band - catchy tune and might be entertaining for more than one song. Twitter singer - good voice but I also thought her original song had more interest. Kid singer - talented, will find an audience but it won't be me. Last singer - Yes, he is talented. Could you stand to listen to an entire set of this stuff? For me - nope. One song is fine but I find his style of singing starts to grate after a while.
  12. Yes. There were several of Gary's pieces you couldn't pay me to wear BUT I understand why they would appeal to a client who was younger, thinner, with a different body type, etc. If they're trying to create the "Next Global Brand" it should be clothes that appeal to a wide variety of people and can be worn on a number of different occasions. There is a LARGE segment of the population that will never wear sequins. Ever. And the ones that do usually only wear them on certain occasions so owning one piece is usually enough. You can't make a global brand selling only one piece of clothing to a small percentage of the population,
  13. Routinely injects actual poison into her face but won't get a vaccine. Makes perfect sense to me.
  14. The writers had Nicole give Eric a taste of the truth and now Sami does the same thing to EJ? Is it possible the writing is actually improving? I'm convinced that before both Nicole and Sami would have been begging for forgiveness and completely ignoring what Eric and EJ did to contribute to the situation. (The men would have, of course, stormed off after letting the women know how undeserving of forgiveness they were.) I'm not saying cheating is "right" but at least they've been allowed a point of view.
  15. Most of the time, when the judges say "Tell us about your girl" they really do mean GIRL. Unless you have a really small bust (maybe a B but more likely an A) a lot of women in their 30's even would have trouble with a dress like this. But the thing that I really did appreciate about Gary was that , while he did have some dresses that could only be worn by certain body types, several of his looks could indeed be worn by a wide variety of ages and sizes. I think this was his attempt to add "sexiness" to his collection - which really doesn't seem like his usual aesthetic. Heidi and Winnie don't seem to realize that a lot of women want pretty, sophisticated clothes and if they come across as sexy it is because of the fit and how flattering they are, not because they show cleavage, are really short or are super tight. Blatantly sexy clothes are fine for certain occasions (and certain personality types) but don't really work well in your day to day life.
  16. You have to be careful with some of the fabric from JoAnn's as some of it is rather poor quality. That said, I am a complete bottom feeder at that store. I either wait until something is 50% off or I only buy one cut of something and use a 50% off coupon. Same with thread. I wait for the Gutterman to go on sale.
  17. You could see that they were going to keep all of them coming a mile away. They were really only pretending to debate it. Sparkle Andrea is REALLY one note. If that is what you are looking for, great, but I can see many people simply walking past and never coming in because it would never occur to them that this store carries anything but sparkle. And yes, technically you can wear sparkle anywhere, but I really only see her clothes as "going out" clothes - not something that would really fit in at the office. While the other Andrea's main color (and print) didn't really appeal to me personally (I'm trying to be more than "I would wear that" here😄) I thought it was great that she had a concept, a wide variety of clothes and was really trying for inclusiveness. If I were routinely walking past her store, I might be pulled in, just to see what else she's done. Even if I didn't like anything in the current collection, I would have her in the back of my mind for future reference. Gary is the hardest for me because I personally love his style so it's hard to be objective. He really shines with prints. I think the fact that he took some of his prints and put them on a basic t-shirt shows that he really does want his clothes to be for everybody. Even if you don't like an "Amish dress" (which really did look very flattering on Andrea) you probably own several t-shirts and would appreciate how great his print looked on such a basic piece. Maybe my interpretation is wrong and Winnie really wasn't telling him that a 26 year old will probably not find something in his store to wear clubbing (and yes, she's right, they probably won't) but I think many of his things would appeal to younger wearers for everyday. I also loved the (I think unintended) diss to Sparkle Andrea in that he didn't just want to open another luxury fashion store - which is exactly what she wants to do.
  18. Yes. He kept repeating "I took a risk." That is what avant-garde should be, taking risks and doing something not seen on the runway. You shouldn't be able to completely fail the assignment by not producing anything out of the ordinary and then stay because you gave some stupid speech about having passion.
  19. Yes, it is an app. You need a smart TV or a device like Roku, Firestick, or Chromecast. It's pretty easy to set up. There are 3 tiers of service - free with some ads, (the ads aren't terrible -FAR less than you would have to sit through if you watch live) premium with ads but additional content and premium without ads. They currently offer DOOL on the free tier but I don't know what they'll do about the digital series. They tend to let you watch some episodes of their original content for free but then you have to subscribe to watch the rest of them (I think they're hoping you'll be hooked enough on the series to pay to subscribe.)
  20. Tim said that if he was going to do the frill - don't half-ass it. Do something dramatic. But he didn't actually tell him to do the frill.
  21. I probably wasn't paying close attention, but I thought Sami's rationale was that Jan was going to be released anyway - she just speeded up the process. Since Jan was always obsessed with Shawn there's no guarantee that she wouldn't have shown up and tried to ruin their lives, even if it was later.
  22. I just realized what it is about Gary's clothes that make them so appealing - they truly do work for a wide variety of ages and body types. I am old and not thin. I could wear many of Gary's pieces without looking ridiculous yet the young, thin models did not look frumpy or dowdy or any of those other words. How many women would feel comfortable in Columbian Andrea's clothes? I get having a target market, but how narrow does that market get before no one buys your stuff?
  23. I hate how the judges always talk about how wearable a jumpsuit is. Do these people never go to the bathroom? The idea of getting at least half undressed and then having to manage all that dangling fabric (god forbid it have long sleeves too) while trying to do your business is pretty much the opposite of easy to wear. And one with a zipper up the back? Only a contortionist could wear that.
