  1. I finally figured out what bothered me about Tommy Hilfiger's critique of Coral's designs vs. Chantall's designs. He specifically asked Nina if she would buy more than one dress with the macrame. She replied she wouldn't, but she WOULD buy other pieces in the collection that weren't macrame. This, to me, indicates Coral had a complete collection - while some pieces might not appeal to some buyers, others might. He didn't ask exactly how many "snake inspired" pieces she would buy. The gown they all raved over was great, but not exactly something a lot of people need in their closets. Other than that, does he really think women are going to keep adding piece after piece with the same motif? They might buy one piece, but probably not more than one, and they would definitely want to see something new next season. And that gray dress Chantall was wearing was REALLY unflattering.
  2. What person tells someone, who they assume is a random stranger, their whole family history? Why should he care who Lani is to Chanel? I know he does, but that just seemed to be an exceptionally clunky way for TR to find out. And I agree with others, how on earth can Paulina think Chanel can run away AGAIN so soon after just getting back. Apparently the bakery must just run itself.
  3. I agree that they really don't know what to do with them. Pairing them with other people doesn't work, and neither one is really a cheater. Since Marlena is the dedicated kidnap victim/person in a coma/possessed person/drugged or microchipped person and generally the damsel in distress needing to be rescued by a big strong man, (and John is, of course, the dedicated geriatric superhero) they don't how to write for Steve and Kayla. They could have Steve solving cases using brains and research (NOT stupid chase/fight scenes) and have Kayla being able to use her medical knowledge/analytical abilities to help him go in the right direction. Hell, they could even involve Jack and Jennifer's investigation skills rather than simply having them be background characters to the Gwen/Abby drama. (Jack would be great at playing dumb - like he really doesn't notice the person being investigated has just dropped a major clue.) But that would, of course, require the writers to add several new squares to the current plot dartboard so it's probably unlikely.
  4. I was kind of with you until the P.S. While she can be a bit over the top, I generally like Sarah and don't see any reason (other than they rarely use them effectively) to get rid of Patch and Kayla. I agree that Abigail really is a legend in her own mind.
  5. I just thought it was still side effects from the drug she was injected with when she was kidnapped. She, like Abigail, was having initial hallucinations (why she willingly climbed in the trunk) and I thought that instead of giving her treatment, Kristen was just leaning in and encouraging them. That's why Sarah was being so compliant.
  6. I've been watching old episodes while I work out and they've done the whole "You're all going to make collections" thing MANY times before so I was fully expecting that to happen again. Sometimes they would "eliminate" someone after they bring them back by having a runway where they showed their 3 strongest looks before actually showing their collections (I put eliminate in quotes because obviously, the person simply showed at the fashion show as a decoy designer - they just knew ahead of time that they would not win.) They're really just giving themselves more runway footage for the elimination episode. After re-watching some of the older seasons, I will now model my extremely stylish tin foil hat while I tell you that I really believe the whole Tim Gunn or Christian Siriano Save is completely made up and decided by the judges. You can always tell that there are certain designers who will NEVER win based on how the judges react to their designs (or possibly their personalities). They are there to fill out the requisite number of shows that must be taped and are really the only ones in competition during the middle of the season- they are basically competing to see how many shows they will be in. The "saved" designer is always eliminated before these "cannon fodder" designers and always for a design that the judges could justify saving if they wanted to. The "Save" is really just to create DRAMA.
  7. I know this is FAR beyond the skills of the writers but, to me, having him seem really harmless and decent is a great way to introduce an abusive person. Most abusers start off as really charming and start out by treating their victims really well. That's why it's such a shock when the abuse starts happening. The victim thinks it's really just a one off and forgives it until they're in so deep they didn't even realize it was happening. I would love it if everybody else thought he was a pretty great guy and they all thought Paulina was just being ridiculous. That way, he could really get established as a true villain. But, unfortunately, I don't think that's what the writers intended.
  8. The only way he finds out is if Abigail tells him about Ava and he confronts her. No one except Kristen and Ava know that Gwen knows about Sarah being on the island and Abigail hasn't figured out Gwen's involvement yet. I REALLY hope we don't get months of Gwen going around, chewing her lip, and talking out loud to herself, saying things like "I can't let Xander find out the truth." He will overhear part of it, she'll give him some lame lie and he'll buy it. Lather, rinse, repeat. I could be 100% wrong but I'm really expecting a pregnancy in all this too.
  9. I know it's been a long time since they've been on, but I don't remember Nancy EVER being insecure. That was one of the great things about her character - she thought she was attractive and deserved an attractive man. None of this "I need constant reassurance" crap. Apparently the bakery has mystery hours? Both the employees can simply take off any time they want.
  10. I watched it on Peacock tonight. Sometimes you have to click on the show and look at the available episodes - it doesn't come up automatically as unwatched and available.
  11. Oh WHEN will you learn that sense has nothing to do with this show? WAY back when Dr. Snyder had a very obvious heart attack, Xander and Gwen could have simply dumped his body in Murder Park, (preferably at night so it would make sense that he was lying there for a while) someone would have found him, and everyone would have assumed he simply dropped dead there. But then, I guess we wouldn't have had the "GREAT sacrifice I made to prove my love" love story that enthralls and thrills us all. Doesn't anyone ever just meet someone and decide that they're cute and they're fun to talk to? And they will handwave that somehow Abigail only had lasting effects because of her previous issues and Sarah simply woke up perfectly fine.
  12. So are the writers expecting us to feel sorry for Gwen and forgive her behavior? She does horrible things but somehow, she should be excused because of her upbringing. Ava does horrible things, (also had a pretty terrible upbringing) and genuinely seems to be interested in becoming a better person, but somehow deserves to have "good guy" Rafe cheating on her. What exactly makes someone a person we should have sympathy for?
  13. Are there competent lawyers in Salem? I had hopes for Belle, but she's just as bad as Justin. You would think, with her brother-in-law being a forensic accountant, she would concentrate on when and how those payments appeared, but nope. Her "defense" is a lame accusation of Lucas - blame shifting. Abby appears to be using the Salem brain this week as she's suspicious about "EJ's" behavior. Chad, of course, is simply being amazingly stupid.
  14. What I want to know is why no one ever just opens their mouth and yells. Abigail was in a crowded courthouse and simply stands there and lets (who she thinks is) EJ kiss her. I KNOW it was for PLOT (so, of course, Chad walks in at the opportune time) but I really can't believe even Abigail is THAT stupid.
  15. It must be some sort of spoiler as I don't recognize those costumes either. So now EVERY time Will and Sonny are shown we're getting some sort of drag show? The first one in the Peacock series was funny, but I HATED the Santa dancing one. Now it seem like, if they're not going to have some interloper for either of them to have an affair with, this is the ONLY thing they can think of to have them do. No plots for them!
  16. Even Tim admitted after the fact that the judges only had Ashley win because they were being "inclusive" (he thought it was a terrible collection and should NOT have won.) Lots of see through lace with granny panties, bare midriffs and hats that looked like flower pots. Unlike some of the current plus size models (I don't remember the name of the one who consistently loses) Liris is also VERY conventionally proportionate. She has a true hourglass shape and not a really large belly, I think that also makes it much easier to design for her.
  17. Forgot to add: When Nina was being bitchy about Christina's scarf - "What is she supposed to do with it?" I wanted to reply "The same thing YOU did when you wore that stupid shirt with the floor length sleeves - sit there."
  18. I'm not really sure I'm adding a whole lot to this discussion but here goes: I also have never seen a single episode of any Real Housewives franchise. I would absolutely NOT know that for some reason, the reunion shows are somehow supposed to be extra "glamorous" (meaning everything is supposed to be barely covered and extremely tacky.) And even though I'm old, it never occurred to me that when Christina was asking about a suit she wasn't talking about pants or some sort of jumpsuit. If that Dr. Wendy person was THAT adamant that she wanted a gown she should have simply stated that. I honestly believe she was operating under the assumption that somehow she, and her show, were so famous that everyone should simply KNOW what she was talking about (and consequently, what she wanted for a reunion show)- rather arrogant if you ask me. This was reinforced when Nina said something about Anna's(?) look not being appropriate for a reunion show - I kept thinking - "Unless there was a LOT of background information how the HELL was anyone supposed to know what was "appropriate"? I think Anna was rightfully sent home because she made a very unflattering dress (and seemed to be REALLY proud of it) but I thought the criticism about it not being appropriate showed how at a disadvantage she was. I'm going to disagree with a lot of you and say I didn't like the winning dress at all. As a gimmicky "costume" it was great but as an actual dress it seemed too "Look at me!!! Aren't I quirky? Don't I look just like some edgy celebrity?" If they were repeating the challenge from several years back where they were dressing drag queens, hands down, this should have won. As an actual dress - not so much.
  19. Not so unpopular. I never minded her character either - I even thought the hair was really cute (though I understand why people found certain quirks somewhat annoying.) I liked that they had them doing "fun" stuff like lurking in the halls to originally discover that Ava Vitale was still alive. Even after she lost her child, she didn't become the lead weight that is Gwen. Every time Gwen talks it's to remind us that no matter what ANYONE goes through, nothing can compare to the tragedy that is Gwen's life. She was never loved, she was poor, blah, blah, blah, ad nauseum. I really hate the thought of a fun character like Xander being relegated to spending 24 hours a day reassuring Gwen that she's "worthy of being loved."
  20. Glad to hear you're over whatever you had. Happy belated birthday. Those muffins sound delicious.
  21. Now I REALLY want this. I want to see Abe try to explain how he was brutally attacked by a stuffed bear or maybe Roman trying to show the cops video footage of Duke vandalizing the Pub. Obviously, Nicole and Rafe would have to exorcise Duke by reminding it about the GREAT LOVE they all share.
  22. Never thought I'd have to say this, but you all here are a really heartless bunch! A STUFFED BEAR WAS BRUTALLY MURDERED!!!! No one has expressed outrage over the fact that this heinous crime was actually shown in great detail. We even saw STUFFING!! I'm surprised the FCC allowed this amount of graphic violence to be show on network TV. OF COURSE the police commissioner should drop EVERYTHING to investigate this brutal crime. Who cares about missing people when stuffed animals are at risk. What's next - stuffed bunnies? Where will it stop? Yup, that's what this show has devolved to. After weeks of people basically saying things like "Devil possession? Huh. Bummer I guess." and "They've scheduled a Christmas exorcism" with as much enthusiasm as someone saying "Did you hear the Shady Pines Senior Choir will be singing carols at the square on Christmas Eve?" The police barely even blinked (Shawn was only involved because it was his mother-in-law - not because he was actually on a case.) But the murder of a stuffed bear, yup, that absolutely deserves being called an emergency worthy of immediate action by the police commissioner.
  23. Yes! One minute is crying to Gabi about still being in love with EJ and the next she's declaring her love for Lucas and proposing that they leave town and buy a house together somewhere. This is beyond rushed. And yes, she was there when Johnny and Chanel announced their marriage.
  24. How about Xander/Maggie? I think they work because however forgiving Maggie is, she isn't a sap as far as he's concerned. She knows he does bad things and accepts him anyway. And Xander brings out the fun in Maggie in a way few others do.
  25. I'm really betting on "Christmas Miracle" redemption.
