Just noticed the complete omission of Justified from the Emmy noms. I don't watch a lot of the following shows, but I do watch The Good Wife and I've seen enough of Downton Abbey to know that Walton Goggins deserved to be nominated over Jim Carter and Alan Cumming.

Just found a clip in the George Costanza thread about this as well. In that, he says that he can't remember which episode caused this revelation, but he's pretty sure it was in the first 8. I'm wondering if it was The Busboy, which was the 3rd episode of S2, and 7th episode overall. Guess I'll have to watch and see it I can pick up on a change in how Jason portrayed George around that time. (FWIW, The Busboy is not one of my favorites.)

Alexander tells this story in "Seinfeld: How It Began," which you can find on youtube. This revelation caused him to realize that George essentially was Larry, so at that point, Alexander stopped playing George as a tepid version of Woody Allen.

I think you expressed that very well, amensisterfriend. S2 has a lot of very funny episodes, including: Hunting Trip, Galentine's Day, Leslie's House, Telethon, Ron and Tammy, and Greg Plikitis. And I enjoy a lot of the season's "lesser" episodes, even Sister City, which was one of the first episodes I watched after I gave up on S1 two episodes in.

So sorry to hear about Roger Rees's passing. Only 71. No cause of death reported yet, but IMDb notes declining health in recent years, which "forced him to withdraw from his final role in John Kander and Fred Ebb’s musical The Visit earlier this year." A very talented man, who also seemed like a good and kind one.

The BBC reports that Omar Sharif has died of a heart attack. He was 83. Loved him in Doctor Zhivago and Funny Girl, but man, he was also sexy with Julie Andrews in The Tamarind Seed.

Did the show ever address where Crosby's first name came from? The other siblings have such traditional first names (Adam and Sarah are Old Testament names and there is a St. Julia in the Catholic canon). Crosby sounds like someone's surname was usurped.

IMO, Marie deserved to be shamed on occasion, and this was one of them.

I thought he was being evasive and stringing her along. Although he said "I might have to move to Paris," it seemed he knew it was a done deal. Also, IIRC, he had said by this point that he loved Carrie. Although I agree that Carrie, being Carrie, totally over-reacted, I did think that Big owed her more consideration that he showed.

Was Sissy Spacek that weak a link in the cast? I honestly hadn't noticed.

I just watched the first season, and will make my way through the other 3 pretty quickly, I think. I have a couple of questions about back-story though: Is it ever made clear why the current president chose Selina as his running mate? What office(s) did she hold prior to VP? Is she divorced or widowed? Thanks!

You could be right about that, Chattygal. But I had the impression that this was the first time Carrie had read anything Berger wrote.

I know it's only a TV show, but who introduces their new boyfriend to a group of friends in the way that Carrie did? Geez, have a small party with both his friends and yours, or meet with each friend and her S.O. individually for a social outing, like a baseball game or a movie or something. It actually made me think less of Berger that he'd agree to be showcased for Carrie's friends the way he was in the "scrunchie" episode. And don't even get me started on the fact that he had to give Carrie a copy of his book to read -- she should have bought herself a copy the moment she was interested in him. Harrumph!
