  1. These people have no toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, or laundry detergent. A reasonable assumption would be that they smell completely awful, so here's what doesn't make sense to me: why in the world would they want to have sexy times with each other? I mean, I know why, but how could you even get close to someone without wanting to puke? Yeah, the Grounders probably don't even notice the smell, but I assume that The 100 had some sort of personal hygiene standards on the Ark, so this just has to be absolutely revolting. The 100 are always wearing layers and they always look super sweaty so basically everyone probably smells of B.O. Gross.
  2. I was thinking that maybe the Ark adults had some sort of contingency plan to ensure that the population on the ground would grow in case they were not able to make it down from the Ark, but you're probably right in that they weren't thinking that far ahead. Total failure on their part I guess since with the Ark population wiped out, they are going to need all females of child-bearing age that they can find (unless they want to start pairing up with Grounders). I hope for their sake, any sort of birth control being used is easily reversible and doesn't require any special Ark technology, or goodbye human race. Edit: Well, goodbye humans from space, I mean. The Grounders will probably continue to survive just fine.
  3. Well, if the female members of The 100 had copper IUDs implanted, maybe they were removed prior to the Earth trip so that in the event that The 100 did survive the trip, they could begin to repopulate the Earth. On Earth, there would be no need for strict population control (as long as there was sufficient food and water), so I would imagine that the Ark crew would want the people on the ground to start having kids to ensure the survival of the human race. I mean, I know most of The 100 are teenagers, but when you are desperate for the survival of your race, I imagine you start popping out babies as soon as you can.
  4. Those Grounders sure are a chatty bunch, aren't they? Clarke wants to go home and Grounder Steve Bacic basically tells her that she won't have a home to go to by tomorrow. Yeah, The 100 are expecting retaliation, but the element of surprise might have been useful. I suppose he didn't figure that Clarke would be escaping, but still! Lincoln seemed to like to tell Octavia the Grounder's plans as well. Speaking of Steve Bacic, I was so happy that I would have another pretty Grounder to look at and then Clarke had to go and slit his throat (or stab him?). I liked the guy on the Ark who was helping Kane. I don't know where he has been hiding this whole time, but I hope he's in the next two episodes and makes it down to Earth. I had thought that maybe Bellamy was a little scared of women in general, but I guess not. I rewatched the pilot episode and saw him kissing some random girl, then apparently he also had a threesome that I don't even remember happening. I thought he was going to turn Raven down at first, but nope. Next stop, Clarke. These kids sure are a violent bunch, but I guess that happens when you live in a society where any crime will get to locked up or floated. I'm not sure how The 100 and The Grounders are ever going to live in peace after what just went down. The Mountain Men will have to be pretty terrifying for these two groups to unite. Edit: Apparently the Grounders make their own bleach, who knew? Clarke should have asked for the details on that because The 100 might need that formula to clean up the aftermath of the next outbreak of whatever the Grounders infect them with.
  5. I know this is terribly hypocritical, but I do give Amell a pass because he has such enthusiasm for the show, and I feel like he just wants to be involved in something great. He wants to make his fans happy, and he wants to tell a story that makes sense. I feel like maybe he knows that the Oliver/Laurel pairing just isn't working, but there's nothing he can do about it because he doesn't write the scripts. Maybe his lack of enthusiasm in his scenes with Laurel is the only way he feels like he can express how he feels about that whole relationship. With Cassidy, I don't feel like she cares much about the show at all. She didn't bother promoting it for like 85% of the second season. Her enthusiasm in the jacket hand-off scene wasn't excitement about making a better show, it was just happiness about the fact that she was finally getting what she wanted. "Oh well if it makes no sense in the story that the show has been telling all season, I get to be Black Canary, bitches!"
  6. The plan better not be for Quentin to die so that Laurel has some motivation to become Black Canary. One man too many has already died for her dumb ass, thank you very much.
  7. Oliver or Stephen Amell? Seriously, I have been wondering if Stephen Amell's personal feelings are coming through in these scenes just like Katie Cassidy's were in the jacket hand-off scene. He just doesn't seem to be trying that hard, or he's not feeling it, or something. Sometimes Laurel is interacting with him, and he just looks positively bored. I feel like Amell just isn't down with this relationship and doesn't really care enough to even try. Oh, and this is in no way a criticism of Stephen Amell's acting, because I can honestly say that I'm not feeling it either and I find it amusing how one-sided this is coming through on the screen. Maybe Amell is doing this on purpose so that the EPs will finally let this Lauriver ship die!
  8. Shouldn't the people living on the ground have more effects from the radiation? Instead of male model Lincoln and Grounder Queen Anya, shouldn't the people stuck on Earth have more deformities? Plus, how did the human population even survive? You would think that the radiation would have caused a whole host of problems like sterility and genetic mutations that cause cancer and other diseases. I would think that the human life expectancy wouldn't be very long. Also, with the lack of Ark medical care, you would think that the female members of The 100 would be worried about pregnancy. Do you really want to be 9 months pregnant and trying to outrun a Grounder attack or survive the freaking hemorrhagic fever? Do you want a teenager to be your midwife? Do you want to give birth without any sort of epidural? I hope you don't need a C-section!
  9. It's sex, right? It's totally sex.
  10. Ah, OK. I don't even remember that happening! I guess that these people just really got around on the Ark. I really hope that The 100 are planning a bonfire of the location where all of the sick and bleeding people were being housed. It's not like they can use bleach to clean any of that mess up. I also hope that nearly all blood-borne diseases were eradicated in the Ark population, what with all of the blood spewing going on. Beyond gross. Next we will have an outbreak of Hep C or HIV.
  11. I don't know...maybe there was some really weird Flowers in the Attic type stuff going on in that family's apartment? Seriously, though, I would have expected Octavia to have a really unhealthy attachment to her brother based on how she has grown up, but Bellamy always seems to be the one chasing after her. I guess she just wants to be free like the radioactive glowing butterflies. From what I have seen, it seems like maybe Bellamy is a little freaked out by women. He's a good looking guy, but while everyone else is pairing up and getting busy, I don't recall him even really talking to any girls besides Clarke and his sister. When he was teaching Clarke to shoot and was touching her shoulder, he immediately pulled away and seemed a little embarrassed. That sort of behavior makes sense to me since he probably wasn't having much contact with non-related women on the Ark. He probably didn't have time for that while looking after Octavia, and I doubt that he would even risk having friends (let alone a girlfriend) for fear that they might discover he was hiding a human being under his floorboards.
  12. Well, I'm assuming Octavia is pregnant with a little Grounder baby, otherwise I don't really see the point of fast-tracking her relationship with Lincoln and then shipping him off to another tribe. I really hope he comes back. I thought that his character could be a good way for The 100 to start learning about surviving life on the ground. Plus, he was really pretty. Bellamy seems to have some sort of feelings for Clarke and it appears as if he will be taking Raven's place in the love triangle with Finn. I'm thinking that Bellamy/Clarke will be happening by the end of this season. You know, considering the relatively sheltered life that they have led, all of these kids seem way too experienced when it comes to romance. It would be nice and sort of unexpected if Bellamy was actually really awkward in that department and didn't even really know what to do or how to approach anything romantic with Clarke. I'm not expecting that, though, since Octavia seemed like a pro in her sexy times with the Grounder.
  13. I think that the Finn/Clarke/Raven love triangle is slowly morphing into a Finn/Clarke/Bellamy love triangle. I've seen a few things on Bellamy's end that lead me to believe that they are setting him up as a love interest to Clarke, but I could be wrong. They had that moment where things got a little awkward for Bellamy when he was touching Clarke's shoulder and teaching her how to shoot a gun, and this last episode, we had Bellamy saying he was glad when Clarke responded that she was feeling better. I really wish that Finn would be taken out of the equation because he's just super bland. Doesn't Lincoln have a hot Grounder friend that could kidnap and chain Clarke up for a while? I'd be down for a Grounder/Clarke/Bellamy love triangle.
  14. If becoming Black Canary is part of Katie Cassidy's contract, I wonder what the details look like? Would her contract stipulate that she has to be Black Canary for a certain amount of episodes? If there aren't a whole lot of specifics, then they could just have Cassidy become the Black Canary for like two episodes and then kill her off when she discovers she's way out of her league. Boom. Problem solved. Comic canon fulfilled.
  15. I'm really curious to see interviews and Arrow cast panels from events like Comic-Con as the third season gears up. Last summer, Stephen Amell really seemed to be promoting Olicity. I think we might get some clues to where Oliver's relationships are headed in season 3 based on what Amell says in interviews/at panels. As it stands now, he doesn't seem too keen on the idea that Laurel and Oliver might end up together. I find it amusing that Katie Cassidy is giving interviews proclaiming that Oliver and Laurel are soulmates and she should be with him because Canary and Arrow were together in the comics (she does realize she's not Canary YET, right?) while Amell seems far less committed and is basically saying that it's possible that the only relationship in their future may be friendship. I think it would make things far less confusing if the EPs would clue their actors in on what they should be promoting. Of course, to do that, the EPs would have to have a clear idea of where their show is headed and as far as I can tell, they are just making it all up as they go along.
  16. I figure that in the first season, Katie was probably told that the intention was for Laurel to become Black Canary (or maybe she just assumed this), so she didn't worry about it. Going into the second season, however, it became apparent with the casting of Caity Lotz that perhaps they were thinking about taking the BC role away from Katie. I know they claimed that Caity was just a part of Laurel's journey to become Black Canary, but I can't say that I ever really believed that based on what was playing out on my screen. Maybe the EPs informed Cassidy during season 2 that they weren't sure if she was going to become the Black Canary. This could possibly explain why she suddenly went radio silent and didn't bother to promote the show anymore. Apparently, she was pissed! I would think that this would be a good time to start training and prove to the EPs what you can do, but maybe Cassidy thought, "why bother?" She must have convinced the EPs somehow, though, because all of the sudden we started getting all of these happy and upbeat interviews from Cassidy. I have a feeling that the timing of these happy interviews probably coincides with the filming of the last three episodes and Laurel forcing her way into the Arrow Cave/receiving Sara's black leather jacket. I would like to know what changed because I really thought they were writing her out of the show. Damn!
  17. Part of the reason that I don't believe that the EPs are 100% fully committed to Laurel as Black Canary is because I think that they are unsure of how KC is going to be able to handle the physicality of the role. Look, I know that most of the fighting is going to be done by the stunt double, but they are going to have to have Laurel throwing punches and stuff like that. They can't just have the stunt double do the fighting as Laurel and never show her face! From what I gather, Stephen and Caity had very little time to learn their fight choreography. I don't know if Katie Cassidy has any dance training in her background, but I would imagine that it is very difficult for some people to learn and memorize all the right moves in such a short amount of time. With such a tight shooting schedule, there just isn't enough extra time to spend on something that isn't working. And going by what I have seen of KC's "acting" so far, I'm not confident in her ability to pull Black Canary off...I think it is asking an awful lot of her.
  18. At this point, I don't even consider Laurel a lead, let alone a romantic lead. I wouldn't say that it's destined that she will be back with Oliver again...the EPs just have to be willing to let go of their original plans and follow the story wherever it organically takes them. Now, from what the EPs have said, it sounds like they might be intending to put Oliver and Laurel back together again (all of that Lois and Clark nonsense). But, from what is shown on screen, it wouldn't make sense to me for them to go in that direction. The relationship was toxic and full of lies and betrayal. I don't know what purpose that relationship would serve in Oliver's growth as a character...seems like regression to me. I'm just hoping that if the EPs get enough negative feedback, maybe they'll abandon this idea that the audience wants to see endless cycles of Oliver and Laurel breaking up and getting back together.
  19. If the EPs really think that the way to solve their Laurel Lance problem is to include her in the action, why in the world did they go about it in the way that they did? Instead of having Oliver willingly tell her that he is the Arrow, we had his nemesis do it. Instead of Oliver inviting Laurel to stay in the Arrow Cave, we basically had him tell her, "three is a good number and we're going to stick with that, so thanks but no thanks." What I'm seeing on my screen is that Oliver really just doesn't want to deal with Laurel, but she's not getting the clue. It's so bizarre because from listening to the EPs talk, I get the impression that they aren't going to stop until I like Laurel, dammit, but it seems like the writing in the show is intentionally trying to make me dislike her.
  20. I'm wondering how the writers will go about integrating Laurel into Team Arrow. Diggle doesn't seem to like her very much, and Felicity really hasn't interacted with her much. Are we going to get one of these stupid scenarios where Laurel saves Diggle's life, so he finally softens his attitude towards her? I think that it would be much more fun if he outright dislikes her, actually. KC seems like the type of actress whose real-life feelings seem to seep into her "acting" (see her gleeful smile while putting on Sara's jacket in the finale). I can imagine that if she has any ill feelings towards EBR for taking her "rightful" spot as Oliver's love interest, we might see that play out on our screen. Personally, if the EPs are insistent on including Laurel in Team Arrow, I'm hoping this plays out like the Roy situation. Roy joins Team Arrow and then basically disappears and ends up in a coma! While the EPs probably think that they are solving their Laurel problem by including her in the action, I think they are risking ruining what I consider the best part of this show, Team Arrow.
  21. I'll add another yay...Andrew isn't dead! I swore that I saw him at the same funeral that Sally was at in last week's episode, but I could just be imagining that. Maybe he wasn't there because I thought it was really strange that after the explosion, we didn't see him or hear about him until he showed up in the White House. Eh, I only halfways pay attention to what's going on in this show anymore. I too thought that Fitz was going to kill himself in his office at the end. I thought that maybe Tony Goldwyn had pleaded to be let out of contract. If he can't get out of the contract and wishes to be let go, he should consult with Katherine Heigl, Isaiah Washington, or apparently Columbus Short for what his best strategy would be. Didn't see the death of Fitz's son coming, but I didn't really care either. They probably should have made us care about Jerry Jr. by spending a little more time on him or something. The only time that I thought about his character was when I wondered if that actor had always played him because I never noticed him before.
  22. Ugh, these EPs sure have a way of killing any enthusiasm that I have for this show. I've gone from watching live to actively avoiding watching in any way that will contribute to the ratings. Sure, they can write their story and give me what I "need", but I'm pretty sure they need my viewership ratings, and I'm not going to give them that if I'm unhappy with how the story is going. I know that Kreisberg in particular is aware of the criticisms that people have about Laurel since he has said as much in interviews, so I'm not sure what his angle is here. The thing is, there is absolutely nothing that they can do to make me like Laurel at this point. When it comes to TV, I have this list of actors who have built up so much good will from other roles that I have seen them in that I will give any new show they are in a shot, even if it doesn't appeal to me. I also have another list. A list of actors who every time they show up on the screen, I wonder what bad deed I have done to deserve this (usually while yelling at the screen, "I hate that guy!"). Sometimes, a role has turned me against this actor (see Jon Hamm in Mad Men), and sometimes it's just unexplainable and possibly irrational dislike (see Jason George--I swear that guy keeps showing up in everything I watch!). Very early on, Katie Cassidy joined this second list, the bad list. So, no Kreisberg, there is probably no storyline that you could ever write to make me like Laurel because once an actor makes it on my bad list, they very rarely ever make it off again. Like I said, it's irrational, but there you have it.
  23. I thought that Rachel seemed surprised to find out that she was pregnant, but maybe she was just surprised to find out she was still pregnant after coming back from the dead? See, I was thinking that finding out you were pregnant would actually be a reason to not kill yourself, but maybe the baby isn't Tom's and that is why she did kill herself. Hmmmm. Caleb's storyline was by far my least favorite, so I'm happy that the show has a way of dealing with people that don't work out...they just disappear. This is a fantastic development.
  24. Unfortunately, I'm just the opposite when it comes to my TV shows and romance. I actually like the build-up to a relationship...it's one of my favorite parts. I like watching a couple falling for each other. I don't need a lot of angst and drama, but Oliver rolling up his sleeves and cooking dinner with Sara (like Stephen Amell mentioned in an interview, I think) or some situation like that would even be a nice development. It probably would have helped me become more invested in this pairing, that's for sure. Ultimately, though, these writers don't know how to write for a large cast and they don't seem to write romance well either, so maybe I should be careful what I wish for.
  25. At the end, Felicity said something to Oliver about how he had been sleeping on the cot every night, so I guess he hasn't been going home to Sara every night either. I don't know if we're supposed to understand that this has been a temporary situation while Thea was kidnapped, and since the writers apparently don't like to think about timing and logistics, I guess I'll just interpret this however I want. I hope that if Felicity and Oliver do end up together at some point in the future, this is not how the show handles their relationship. Now that Felicity is probably out of a job maybe they are going to have her apply at Star Labs. She needs some sort of day job to pay the bills. If she is fired, maybe she can just blackmail Isabel to get her job back. Speaking of Laurel, I can't say that I'm happy that she knows that Oliver is the Arrow. I'm hoping that juicy tidbit just signed her death certificate. She's overstayed her welcome for about, oh, eighteen episodes now.
