Is he a resident? I thought he was a staff physician and she was the chief. If he was an internal medicine resident, he would be about 28 years old and I think this guy is supposed to be older than that. I have loved me some Scott Wolf since Party of Five and at first I will still on my "he does not age" mantra with him. But the more I look at his face, the more nervous I get. It looks like it's going to crack or slide right off. Maybe lay off the chemicals and the botox for awhile? I also didn't think he was supposed to be all evil. Whoever he called (wife? Girlfriend?) and told he was chief seemed genuinely happy for him. I wonder if he will be a little more nuanced. Maybe not incompetent, but made a mistake and fears the repercussions plus he's highly ambitious? I really hate the trope that one can be empathetic and basically polite OR one can be a brilliant physician but not both at the same time. I know several who managed to pull that off. I guess that doesn't necessarily make for compelling television though.

S18.E10: Anniversary Dinner Showdown

I think Madison knows that she should be into Allen and she just isn't. I was thinking tonight that either Emem or Michelle would be a good match for him except that I think he wants kids and they maybe don't? (I recall Michelle being sort of on the fence and I can't remember about Emem at all). In a totally random thought, I had a mammogram recently so I have them on the brain. I cannot imagine how painful they are for Karla; she literally has nothing for them to squish on those glass plates! It sounds like he started the physical contact and she went with the flow. Even if she did make an advance he didn't want, there were much better ways he could have told her and he has behaved badly ever since the honeymoon. I can't stand him. I think that Madison might make more more money than Michelle, but I don't think either of them are glamorous. I think Michelle is consistently better looking and better dressed than Madison. She did marry David, exactly as she promised. She also closed her mind to him almost instantly but I don't think it was based on his looks. She will never get over him living in his parents' basement. -

Some impressive moments from people who don't always impress me: 1) David, popping into a dinner far from his job, because it was an important event 2) Karla, telling Emem not to stoop to Ike's level 3) Michelle, asking Ike why he bothered coming to the dinner if he wasn't willing to talk about his marriage.- 67 replies

S18.E10: Anniversary Dinner Showdown

Is that a thing? Because that's going to really stop me from commenting candidly on Ikechi. His belated arrival at the dinner just pissed me off. It's rude. He should have apologize for being late and sat down politely. What a dick.- 67 replies

Agree on Ikechi. I don't always like Michelle but I did love her yellow dress. It looks amazing on her. -

Robyn only has one adult boy. I think girls stay home until they marry and live with their husbands. You can't have them living out there with their cookies unprotected. -
Robyn Brown: She wanted the family, but got stuck with the man.

Was the dumbass at least wearing a helmet? -
My first apartment out of college had roaches. It didn't matter how clean we were (we were really clean). The roaches would get exterminated out of one unit or floor, go to the next, who would exterminate and they would come back again. It was revolting. I didn't keep food in the apartment or cook at all. It's why we finally moved out.

I wondered if some of the lack of stuff would be to make it easier for Jonathan to more around without bumping into stuff or tripping. I also noticed there were clear paths if EMS needed to bring in a stretcher.

I noticed that and actually appreciated it. So many times the homes of the poundicipants are cluttered and dirty. This house may have been a little sparse but it was clean. I believe Tzana was working at a nursing home. Even RNs in those places don't make a lot of money; nurses can make much more in hospitals. So I'm guessing they didn't have much and maybe they live within their means?

People grow, change and learn. I don't have a lot of patience for people who cheat but if all the cheaters stayed single forever, the population would die out a lot sooner. Tom strikes me as pretty earnest in this marriage so maybe he learned something from his prior relationship?

I think if Janelle builds on the land - or at least commits to building on the land - Robyn feels like she doesn't have to worry about Janelle pushing to sell the land. Though why Robyn cares so much about the land is a mystery to me since she keeps buying increasingly larger and more expensive houses that are already built.

So Dr. Now can see how committed they are and how hard they are working, of course...

I really liked them! And good for Jonathan! I hope things continue to go well for them and their two adorable dogs.

I think Brian is clearly a problem child but I also think that Dexter was trying to save the lizard. I think his dark passenger shows up after his mom dies. With all the repeated information about Brian, I am more convinced that the guy in the pilot who asked about a seat at the diner was Brian.

So glad to hear that Luffy has reformed and become a very good boi!

I think Meri did it first then the others piled on?

He does need to be trained but he isn't biting. He's "mouthy." It's not semantics. If a dog wants to bite you, he will draw blood. Mouthy is kind of like a toddler putting everything in its mouth. It's how they experience the world but it does need to be trained out of them so they don't accidentally hurt someone, be mistaken for a biter or ingest something harmful. Get on that, Alan.

Dexter: Original Sin In The Media

I can't argue... -
My relatives from southern Virginia and North Carolina say it constantly. It also sometimes becomes “hain’t.”

Except Deb is in school so maybe it's late spring? Or they are just a little sloppy with the timeline? Fair enough. Worth noting that Harry tried hunting and that maybe satisfied Dexter for awhile (I think he said it wasn't working "anymore"). Being a surgeon, I think, was also supposed to satisfy his bloodlust. Good thing (maybe) he was smart enough to go to med school even though that didn't end up happening.

I suck at math. What year is this set? I think it was well before anyone called out sexually harassment, especially in a male dominated environment. I don't know that we have great mental health care for sociopaths now and we definitely didn't way back when. I think that Harry figured his knowledge of criminal behavior but him in a better position to "treat" Dexter than the mental health system could. I think Harry's motivations are complicated, including that he has tremendous guilt over his bio son's death and Dexter's mother's death and he is trying to replace his dead son with Dexter. It's also possible that Deb was born after Harry and Mrs. Harry had adopted Dexter. Isn't she about five years younger? Did we know in the original series that Harry and Mrs. lost a bio child or was that a new revelation in this series? I remember in the original series, in one of the first episodes (or maybe the first episode) Dexter says that he isn't capable of love but if he was, he would love Deb. It's interesting to see their sibling relationship develop and it's clear that they have affection for each other, though neither of them are the demonstrative type. I hope Deb gets Mom's pearls back. I'm sentimental that way.
