We have been heavily misled by editing in the past so I wouldn't say he was absolutely anything until we see the next episode.
-
There have always been rumors that there is a penalty but I don't think there has ever been any sort of factual confirmation.
-
The love triangle with the EMT, his prison wife and her grandmother is already skeeving me out.
-
That would have backfired. David would have walked in and said "this looks great! My mom must have cleaned up." And Michelle would have lost it.

There are definitely women who find him attractive (though I’m not one of them). More importantly than me or a hypothetical population of women with homogeneous descriptions of attractiveness, Michelle described someone like David when asked what she found attractive. I think she did find him physically attractive at the wedding. If they had never spoken, they might still get along better.

I mostly agree. Every now and then we find some. I think thus far this season, I think that Tom and Camille are in it for the right reasons. So far, I think the same about Allen/Alan/Allan. I have blocked season entirely from my mind but I'd agree that none of them were there for good reason. Going further back, I think Miles and Karen had good intentions; also Woody and Amani though I doubted Woody in the beginning (my bad). I loved Austin and Jessica and still do; they are the only ones I follow on any sort of social media. Also Kristen and ... oh shit. I forget his name - but they were in Philly, she is a realtor and he is a respiratory therapist, I think. Double oven Gregg and Deonna are also favorites. Steph and AJ were a surprise success for me as well. Those are few and far between though and I didn't watch early seasons. I mean, that used to be the norm, at least for women, right? Back in the day, women lived with their parents and then with their husbands. It wasn't uncommon for women to never live alone until they were widowed. Then again, on average, people married younger then. I think one advantage to David's situation is if the marriage did stick (hah!) he would be one of the few that would have a relatively easy situation regarding moving in together. Most of the other couples have a remaining lease to contend with or a home that they own but maybe the other person doesn't want to move in there for whatever reason (who was the nutter in an earlier season - Jake? - who owned his home but had it all decked out in 80's neon?). David can probably pull up stakes and move wherever, whenever in the Chicago area. So there's that.

She looks very artificial to me. And don't get me wrong. I've had hair extensions, fake nails, eyelash extensions, botox... not all at the same time and definitely not in my 20's, but I don't have a problem with any of that stuff. Madison just has it all to the extreme and at the same time (maybe not botox). Dialing any of it back a bit would make it all work better, I think. But, you know, you do you... I think the producers have assigned this as their issue because they really don't have anything else. I remember with NC Donna and Gregg it was all "Deonna hasn't been in a relationship in forever" and that was the big thing but really it was because they were just a nice couple who didn't have a big problem. Same with DC Austin and Jessica. Their big "problem" I think was that he didn't say "I love you" soon enough? Or something? A pandemic, a dog and two kids later and they are still going strong. I think if anyone manages to stay together this season, it will be Tom and Camille and we will find out that this really wasn't a big deal for them; it was just their structured storyline. That was weird. I mean - yeah, I can cook a lot of things but I don't always. Sometimes I order stuff for a party that I could have made myself. It was like they hadn't really talked about the party except that Emem was doing food and decorations and Ikechi was... thinking of passive aggressive responses to conversation topics? And then she "handled" food by ordering and he got pissy. If he wanted to cook, he should have said he wanted to cook, and then cooked. Anyone else have flashbacks to the Mexican food ordering disaster party that the tall Australian and the therapist had last season? When he had planned to order but hadn't actually done it so he did it when she mentioned it and then the food was tepid and soggy by the time their guests arrived? And it turned out that had been his reason for not ordering so far in advance but he didn't mention that? Ugh. No more tacos on this show please.

Nah - have you already forgotten last season's trainwreck of a couple whose names I can't even remember? The Native American guy and the African American woman?

I thought Madison said Allen was hungover from having gone out the night before???

I think that is exactly what she is trying to tell him without actual saying it and if it’s what she means, I wish she would say it outright so he can say to her what he has said before to the camera, “I am a Black man.” They can fight about it and be done with it instead of Camille trying to dance around it. I thought it was… interesting when Camille’s sister (friend? Not sure who she was) at lunch was trying to explain that there is a specific “Black woman” experience. I believe that; but was she trying to characterize it as being more challenging than being a Black man? I have a hard time believing that though I think it’s probably difficult to quantify the “difficulty” of a particular experience. I think being a Black man is incredibly difficult in the United States, and as difficult as being a Black woman (though as a white woman, I really have no standing to comment on either). I really like Tom so that probably colors my view of the whole subject. I think he is a nice, solid guy who is genuinely interested in having a marriage. He’s smart and personable and has a lot to offer.

Kidding right? I was being serious - it was awesome that you started the thread! It confuses me that mods don’t do it anymore but I think that is the case. And I’m always eager to comment on the new episodes even though I really dislike the housewarming interrogation episodes.

He might but she could also change. She could learn to see his love language (of doing chores) as gestures of affection while also learning to be more direct about what she wants (she could say, for example, “I could use a hug right now.”). I don’t think either of them particularly wants to change though.

No you did great!

@kristen111 started one already but anyone can. There's a "Start Topic" button at the top of the page where all the threads are listed. Click that, give it a name and type something in the text box... very similar to a regular post. I don't think that mods start threads anymore?

Ikechi is being straight up rude to his guests. I am actively disliking him this week...

So does attending a party at Tom's twin's house count as Thomas and Camille's housewarming party? I can really only tolerate one set of grilling per couple by friends/relatives/concerned onlookers...

It's Dr. Odyssey. Reality need not apply.

This being Dr. Odyssey: Avery will continue the pregnancy. Dr. Odyssey and Hot Male Nurse will have to do an emergency, shipboard c-section during a tsunami. Out will come conjoined, fraternal twins: one boy, one girl (not medically possible). Dr. Odyssey and Hot Male Nurse will have to do an emergency, shipboard separation. Avery will assist despite having just given birth via c-section. Further testing will reveal that the "twins" have two different fathers (medically, theoretically possible; also once a subplot on Days of Our Lives). One father is Dr. Odyssey. The other father is Hot Male Nurse. Don Johnson and the Head Engineer will be the godparents. Everyone survives. Next season the twins will have magically aged into cute 5 year olds, capable of memorizing lines and performing simple, but adorable, stunts. I will be working on this script on spec during the hiatus between now and March. Taking recommendations now for baby names.

Why? Because it’s hot or ugly to look at or loud? I’ve never slept next to ours but was wondering if there is a particular objection to the heating system beyond just “it’s too basement-y.” I don’t think that Michelle needs David to be a CEO living in a villa and making millions to have maintained an attraction to him. I think it’s the “living with parents” thing in a way that makes his lifestyle too similar to that of a college boy. If he had been in an apartment with a roommate that would have been an improvement. I don’t know; he’d probably still have his kegerator and some flags or posters on the walls and she would be turned off by that, but at least he wouldn’t have been ten feet from mom and dad all the time.

It depends on whether you're looking at them in the mirror or straight on :)

S07.E10: Life After Lockup: Love Is Sacrifice

Agreed. Joey is a mess and I wish he would just leave. Honestly, Kim should get her ass to Al Anon and plant it there until she figures out how bad he is for her and for her kids. I liked seeing Michael so vocal about his gratitude. Juju kind of grates on my nerves but I think they are good for each other. I'm not a Melissa fan, but she and Louis are both hard workers and they seem weirdly devoted to one another. As much as I miss Donna and her wooden spoon, I think that they would have a lot more conflict as a couple if they lived closer to Donna. And yeah, who would have thought that Rob would turn out to be so close to normal? I was sure he was a control freak and maybe he is, but he appears way more stable than I thought he would be. Brittany disappointed me. I can't help but root for them, but she needs to let go of her "glam" lifestyle and pay off her restitution so she can be free of probably. Every time I see what I know to be minimum $100 on her fingernails, I want to poke her in the eye with one of them. It's a shame that Kerok ended up moving back to Richmond because she insists on her wifestyle. Anyone know what kind of makeup she is supposedly selling? -
Did anyone watch the new three part series on Netflix? Did it change anyone's thinking?

S07.E10: Life After Lockup: Love Is Sacrifice
Elizzikra replied to PrincessPurrsALot's topic in Love After Lockup
It felt sort of anticlimactic for a season finale. I never thought I would say this but I think that Melissa and Louis might be the most stable couple among the entire cast. Maybe Tennie and Rob if they stay away from his grifting nutter of a mother (sorry Tennie, but you did put hands on her first - it's right there on video). -
I didn't watch that season but I remember Bobby. He also reminds me of North Carolina "Double Oven" Greg, who married Deonna. I believe they are still together. I loved them.

Works for me.
