Pretty much my thoughts. I didn’t see what was so great about her dancing in the previous episodes, but I trust the judgement of the guest judges. So, I’m clearly missing something that is coming across in person. I don’t begrudge anyone the right to tell their story, but it definitely feels like the girls think they have to cry to be featured. I would like to see segments where the girls just say where they’re from, their dance background, and how they came to try out for DCC…. As for the Ole Miss comment, I thought Kelli may have just been curious. I interview candidates sometimes and when they are from up across the country, I always ask what brought them to the city, etc. Its not a criteria for the job. I’m just curious, and it usually gives the candidate an opportunity to tell me about himself/herself in a less awkward way than the typical “tell me about yourself” question.

Agreed on both points. I hate to judge the girls when they’re in one of their worst moments because many people aren’t always poised in those circumstances, but they gave her time to get her kicks up, but they were still awful. I could’ve more understood her being upset that they brought her in to training camp or kept her so long, but that doesn’t really go with the “nobody should get their dreams crushed” reasoning. Ultimately, her cut was much more straightforward than most. I also agree about Vivian her first year in training camp. It’s a shame that she let the attention go to her head by her second year. I wish they would’ve taken Kyndall. I understood why they didn’t, but I really liked her and hated that she got cut at the very end both years.

Yeah. I only generally follow the alumni, but their marriages don't seem all that different from other groups of people, who grew up in upper middle class and wealthy households. Certainly, I would think that the ones who ended up marrying professional athletes were helped by their DCC connections, but for those who married attorneys, doctors, and businessman, etc, I'm not sure DCC had much more to do with that than general family, friend, and work connections. People tend to marry people who are in their social class, and it would be different if most of the DCCs came from purely working class or blue collar families, but they don't.

It’s really saying something about how delusional and pathetic Big D’s performance was tonight that even Kyland, who is beyond bitter at X, couldn’t throw him a vote.

Julie handed Kyland the opportunity on a silver platter to try and redeem himself, and he’s too narcissistic to take the hint. Instead, he doubled down… I wish BB had a real reunion, so it would be crystal clear to the houseguests and the public who did what with regards to the Cookout and when.

I thought the “use every advantage you can get Azah” was stating that she should make the argument about woman being the winner, but perhaps I misread that. I agree though that she should make any argument that she can to the jury, including talking about X downplayed what Tiffany and Hannah did. In general though, I’m pretty apathetic about this Final 3 other than Deref, who I don’t want to get a cent. I think X is way overrated, and I think Azah has done very little. In most cases where I don’t care much for any of the 3, I would root hard for the women, but Azah very much strikes me as someone who would not do the same in reverse, but would always come up with a reason to go for the “sexy” man. I could be wrong on that, but that’s just how she comes off to me.

I agree, but I feel like this would be a better argument for a woman who didn’t send the other last woman out of the house on her HOH, which was the only time Azah had power. Some of the women jurors may still vote for her regardless because they just want to see a woman win. However, I think it’s a difficult argument for Azah herself to make, as her own actions show she didn’t care that much about a woman winning.

I definitely feel like they should provide some sort of housing for the TCCs who need it. It would be one thing if it was an internship for a set amount of time. When I was in college and had a summer internship out of town, I was not provided housing, but I knew in advance that the internship was from date x to date y and could make arrangements accordingly. I had an aunt and uncle in the area, so I stayed with them, but others were able to sub-lease apartments, etc. Here, the TCCs have no idea how long they will be in training camp, and I can imagine that if they’re from out of town, they may not want to stay in Dallas if they don’t make the team. It just seems like if they are going to insist on having a months-long process, the least they can do is provide a housing option for rookie TCCs, who need it - doesn’t have to be anything fancy or even free, just something at a reasonable rate for a college-aged person.

Yep, it’s all a matter of degrees. Having different preferences and different views on certain policies is not unusual, but there can become a point where ideology does say something about who someone is as a person. That doesn’t mean that it’s a “I’m good; they’re bad” scenario, but it might just mean it’s a “we have fundamentally different views and values and don’t need to be friends” type of deal. I know some people who I have respected and had a pretty good relationship with for years, but recently, it seems like they’ve fallen hard for conspiracy theories, etc, whether it’s covid, the vaccines, the election, basically everything... Do I wish ill on them? Of course not, and if I see them, I’ll be cordial, but I’m going to sit there and listen to trash (IMO) and pretend like I believe there is validity to what they’re saying when I don’t. If other people choose to, I certainly respect that, but I’m not going to.

Yeah, we’ve have YouTubeTv for close to 2 years, and I honestly don’t notice much of a difference between it and cable, minus that you can cancel it at any time. However, I mean that in a good way in that it has all of the channels that my husband and I watch, a really good sports package, and basically unlimited recording (some recording falls off after so long, but others don’t). It’s fairly pricey though, so if you don’t want cable-lite, it’s probably not a great option. I’m not sure that we really save that much since we upped our internet speed to prevent buffering with so much streaming going on, but I wouldn’t go back to cable at this point.

Can someone explain why Azah keeps saying that she had to get Hannah out to make it to the end? It may well work out for her, but Kyland could’ve easily won the Final 4 HOH, and then she would’ve been gone. I can also get how she may think that X and Deref were better for her game than Hannah, except X will certainly send her out the door on Thursday if he wins, whereas Hannah might not have. Regardless though, Hannah was her actual target during the double eviction, so she wanted her gone. Is there some actual logic or strategy to that move that I’m missing? I want to root for Azah, but I can’t help but feel like her move was a personal “I want to be the only woman left in the house” sort of thing.

I too disliked the Natalie Woods’ home tour. It just seemed completely unnecessary, and now knowing that she’s apparently an anti-vaxxer and covid-denier makes it all the more baffling. Poor Klein, who is adorable (I really like her). Madeline should’ve known better than throwing out that type of excuse. It was a no brainer that it was not going to go over well. At least she recovered and did well after that though. I want to love Kaydianna, but I haven’t really loved her dancing in the clips that they’ve shown. However, I’m clearly missing something since multiple people have singled her out as being strong. Go Gina and Armani! Glad to see them getting so much praise. I didn’t know any of the rookies well enough to care about their cuts.

I don’t see how it has any validity at all. Kyland was trying to use a game move in the Big Brother house (an isolated environment that is totally different from real life) to state that X is a terrible role model and that X’s nephew will have no one to look up to in real life. That’s not a valid statement. Evicting houseguests and best positioning yourself to win is part of the game. X is certainly not perfect but making a pure game move and choosing to get rid of the biggest remaining comp threat at F4 in Big Brother has literally zero to do with his value as a role model to his nephew. Hannah could’ve made a similar statement to Kyland last week. He said he wanted to go to the end with competitors and then kept Big D, who did nothing all season. But, had Hannah thrown a similar little tantrum while she was headed out (questioning Kyland’s worth as a role model to his family), it would’ve been just as tasteless.

I’m not sure if Kyland was trying to get X to hit him, or if he is delusional enough to really believe that bs about X’s nephew needing someone to look to. Finally though…a good blindside.

I didn’t follow the boards much this summer, so I am really learning the TCCs through the show, but if I am thinking of the right girls, I also thought Kelee and Lea looked great, as did Gina. I argued she should’ve gotten point 2 years ago and thought it was a slap in the face that they gave it to Maddie and Amy and then Rachel over her. Thank god they finally came to their senses (but I still think she looks almost too thin).

Right. It wouldn’t even be so bad if they framed it like they did with Jinelle - where they didn’t try to pretend that she was one of the greatest DCCs ever, but noted how she was such a great teammate, great at camps, etc. I’m not downplaying Maddie’s career. She obviously gave a lot to the team and is a good dancer, but the need to pretend like she is some world class hip hop dancer and performer and on par with some of the strongest DCC dancers is too much.

I don’t care for the hip hop solos from Maddie or Elli honestly. It’s hard to compare them though because Maddie’s was in a room full of people cheering, and with over-the-top gushing in the voiceovers, while Elli’s is not. I liked Maddie’s solo the first year did it, but by the second, the “hip hop Maddie - she’s so amazing” nonsense just sealed my skepticism and annoyance. The fact that Melissa is still carrying on about Maddie like a starstruck teenage girl is absurd. In general, I tend to much prefer hip hop in group pieces rather than solos.

The Melissa-Judy conversation just seemed fake all around. Maddie was a senior year vet, so why would it be surprising in the first place that she would’ve retired? Very few vets stay past 5 years. However, even if Maddie had decided to retire at the absolute last minute, I don’t buy that Melissa would’ve found out while walking onto the field. It just seemed like they wanted to do a Maddie segment, and I’m not sure why. I liked Maddie well enough, but it’s not like the DCCs lost the best dancer that they ever had.

Sure, it’s a step down from DCC, but unless she is going to go the theater route (highly unlikely given her dance background) or move to LA, Vegas, New York, or Orlando, pretty much any dance job is going to be a step down. I don’t think anything even suggests that she’s trying to parlay this into a professional dance career, such that it matters whether it’s a stepping stone or not. This seems like a pretty low key dance team - certainly not the full time job that the DCCs are. So, it seems like she just enjoys dancing on a team. As for DCCs, i honestly don’t think Jenna, Sydney, Lacey, etc, seem to be that different than the rest of the team beyond remaining a DCC longer. Generally, it seems like the ones who maintained professional careers or were working towards them while they were DCCs, continue to do that after they retire from DCC, and the ones who didn’t (which seems to be most of them, honestly), seem to continue along those lines (fitness instructor, teaching dance, yoga, etc) and/or get married, after they retire. Jenna going with her boyfriend to Shreveport and moving back to Dallas, while while working various dance teaching positions, etc., seems to be right around those same lines as the rest.

Yeah, I think that is really what saved her. If you knew who James Comey was, you clearly knew who Melania Trump was. I’m also not quite as shocked as some others that she didn’t know Martha Washington right off the bat. I think how history classes are taught and what they focus on can vary widely across the board.

Based on IG, Jenna made the final team. good for her! I’m curious however. I thought the Mavs disbanded the dance team. Is this the group that replaced it, and if so, do they perform at halftime, during the game, etc?

I disagree. Goodbye messages have always been part of the game. A player choosing to reveal critical information in a goodbye message is very different than Julie, a non-player, revealing information. One is a game move, while the other is not. I agree that that the goodbye message that we see are edited, but I assumed that players saw full goodbye messages after the show.

Julie telling them about the Committee was pre-jury. Telling jury members about alliances would defeat the purpose of the jury being sequestered. She didn’t tell people about the Cookout pre-jury, which I think was in part to avoid controversy and in part because the Cookout (unlike the Committee) didn’t win all of those HOHs. For example, Derek X got out Christian, so it makes sense that she focused on that in Christian’s exit interview. As for the Committee, they ran the house until all the non-Committee other than Enzo, who was basically a de facto Committee member (he had a final 3 with Memphis and Christmas’s too) was gone. They were explicitly clear that the Committee was over once David was evicted. Likewise, I assume that the Cookout is over now that all non-Cookout members are gone.

Agreed. I will say that while I think that a lot of the scenes are scripted, I’m not as convinced as some others that the conflict between Fredrik and Ryan is completely fake. I think they used to hate each other, then got a long (a lot of that was because Fredrik likes Emilia, IMO) and now are back to their usual state, which is that they’re competitors and don’t really like each other all that much. I also think Fredrik is genuinely insecure about not being in NYC anymore. Yes, he has always done business elsewhere, but NY was his base, and the move combined with covid (which kept him out of town for an extended period) probably brought all of those insecurities to the surface. I hope he watches the season back and realizes how insecure he looked in all of the Ryan drama (and if it all was for show, it’s not a good look for him). Now, I think that basically everything him about him on the MDL LA series has seemed completely fake, but I don’t get that when it comes to some of the interpersonal dynamics on the NY show.
