  1. I’m always pretty stunned by the amount of work that the DCCs get done on their faces. It’s not the work per se, but that they’re getting it when they’re in their 20s, and half the time, the fillers, etc. are pretty obvious. On top of that, they filter the hell out of their pics to the point where they look like totally different people. I would have no idea that this was a picture of Kashara if it wasn’t said.
  2. Yes, I think times have changed on that. I’m an attorney in a big firm, and employees definitely do not give notice before they have secured other employment. Now, if an employee is moving out of state because their spouse has been transferred or something like that, notice may be given. In that case, it would probably be beneficial to have your current employer vouch for you in your nee job search, but outside of very specific circumstances like that, you wait until you know that you have somewhere else to go. Fur example, when I left my last firm for the current one, I waited a full week or so after I accepted the offer to give notice because my client conflicts, background check, etc had to clear first.
  3. Bingo! Also, even if the timing had been different and the Rockettes tryouts were before DCC, Kelli probably still would have held it against Alora Rose if she had been honest and tried out for the Rockettes, not made it, and then tried to return to the DCCs as a vet. She probably would’ve been cut. That’s one reason why I can’t be mad at Alora Rose. It was a no win situation for her. Of course, I wouldn’t expect K&J to act differently than they did. Just like we’re told to make sure you find a new job before you leave your current one, we’re also told to make sure that your current boss doesn’t find out that you’re looking to go elsewhere. Given that dance auditions are not confidential, the situation was probably always going to end up like this.
  4. She fulfilled her contract, and Alora Rose fulfilled her contract her rookie season as well. I get where people are coming from because K&J act like DCC should be every girl's #1 priority and aspiration. However, while I don't like the way those vets were cut last year either, I see it as a one year contract job - nothing more. No one has to commit to anything beyond that one year, and I actually don't think it should be a factor in who gets selected. Now, I don't think they needed to have an audition last year and should've just kept the vets since it was a weird covid season anyway. I also think Hannah should have made it because she's a better dancer than girls who did make it, but that's the main reason. Who knows, if they had made it, Hannah, Lily, and Brennan could've retired after last season too. As for Alora Rose this year, I don't blame her for trying to secure another job before leaving the one that she had. That's what most people do. On the other hand, I definitely would've hated it for any rookie who was cut at the end if Alora Rose had made it and then quit for the Rockettes, so I understand Kelli & Judy's frustration. I don't quite see Megan's appeal. She is very, very average to me. I also think Amber is pretty weak. I probably would've called both of them in over Jensen and Ava. I thought all of the cameos were pretty good. Jensen was a little stiff, but overall, I thought she was fine.
  5. There may be talk, but perhaps they’re not covering it on the show anymore, which is a good thing, IMO. It’s not a good look to the general public, and I think they may have finally realized that. A girl being out of shape and being unable to fit her uniform is one thing, but who exactly is the audience for them to be going on about “thutts” and women being “thick?” I definitely don’t think the average football fan (male or female) has a problem with a woman having a curvy butt and some hips and thighs, especially when we’re talking about women who are generally much smaller than the average woman to begin with. ETA: If I showed that picture of Claire and said she was thick, I think he would die laughing.
  6. I’m not the original poster, but in one of her segments, I remember her talking about having training “that the other girls don’t have,” which watching in real time all those years ago, was what made think that it wasn’t just a bad edit. I get what she was trying yo say, but she should’ve been able to talk up her up her own training without downplaying everyone else’s (most people manage to do this without issue), especially since it’s highly doubtful that she knew all of the training that all of her teammates have had. IIRC, there was also Robin and Lacey both saying that she had rubbed some of her teammates the wrong way in practice. With that said, I don’t think it was a huge deal then, and it’s all water under the bridge now regardless. Gina has obviously become a great teammate and DCC, who has the support of her coaches and other cheerleaders. That’s all that really matters.
  7. Yep, she has really come a long way. I tend to believe that there was some truth to the storyline about her during her rookie training camp, although I'm sure it was exaggerated. However, in Gina's defense, I really think she was looking at the process like a real job interview and a competition, where it's about distinguishing yourself and demonstrating why you should be picked over the girl next to you, not like the semi-sorority thing that the DCCs have going on. Not being from Dallas, she may not have truly understood the culture of the DCCs, but once she did, she clearly went all in and is a beloved teammate. She is easily one of my favorites.
  8. Yeah, that’s likely. Kelli’s mention of “whispers” and “rumors” made me think she got second hand information about Alora Rose trying out, but I could be reading too much into that.
  9. Jacie is a Rockette, right? I wonder if she got wind of Alora Rose trying out and passed the information to Kelli. I don’t really blame anyone in this scenario though. Most people make sure they have secured another job before leaving the one that they have, but that info getting back to your current boss is always a risk that you take. Count me in as being thrilled that Gina is one of the points. Even now, if someone has to be replaced, I would much rather it be Rachel than her. Rachel is a good dancer, but I think her looks are why she’s in that position. She reminds of Holly at point, which is fine, but she’s not memorable, IMO. Gina definitely earned that spot through showmanship and dance.
  10. I honestly don’t think Lea looked any better after her makeover. However, I think she’s a great dancer and deserves to be on the team. She’s not bad-looking. She’s just not very glam, which is fine, IMO. Kaydianna looked much better. Kelee did as well. I thought Presley’s makeover was fine, but nothing special. I’m not sure why they brought Ava in if there were a limited amount of spots for makeovers. Having a vet sit down with her about makeup seems like that could’ve fixed her issue. The Alora Rose cliffhanger was so stupid, especially since they had it in the preview and title for this episode…. I thought that the call with Yuko and Klein seemed strange. Other than giving Natalie some screen time, what was the point of that? The team seems a bit low on vets. In the past, it seems like there usually have been some second years in the back line with rookies in groups. It looked like all second years were in the front rows.
  11. I live in Atlanta, and I was also a bit surprised that the townhouse that she ended up with was the best she could do. It seemed tiny and was dated. That little room off of the garage did not at all seem like a space that would be good for an office, but that's just me. However, her budget was low - around $260K IIRC and the beltline is booming. The areas near the beltline that aren't already very expensive are seen as areas that will substantially increase in value over the years. So it's highly competitive. I think her desired location and/or budget has been different than many of the other house hunters in Atlanta. With that said, they didn't actually give us indication of the neighborhoods where she was looking, and 5 to 4 miles from the Beltline isn't really something that I would consider "near the beltline" (4 to 5 miles can easily be a 20 to 30+ minute drive in Atlanta traffic). That first house, where the inside was nice but had no landscaping, looked kind of sketchy to me. I would be very interested to know where it was located.
  12. No, that’s not what I meant. I actually don’t think we saw Kelli’s vote on Kat, although we did see that she voted for Alora Rose and wanted her on show group and yet, Alora Rose did not make show group. Now, Kelli can absolutely overrule everyone else if she wants to, but I think she actually does care what the outside judges think. Based on everything we’ve seen, I think Kelli only overrules the judges when someone is really a favorite of hers or someone is really on her bad side.
  13. Apparently, she made it bc she got the votes. I don’t mean that in a snarky way, but it’s obvious that while some people on the boards very much dislike Kat and think that she’s awful or average at best, other people (her own teammates and judges) don’t agree. This isn’t a Cassie situation, where her mom is the choreographer or a VK situation, where the team director has known her forever and is clearly playing favorites. It seemed like the other outside judges who don't know Kat anymore than any other DCC and have no reason to pull for her were the main ones pushing her to make it. Now, I think her looks played a big role in it, but the DCCs are a team that pushes looks as much as dance, so whatever.
  14. Happy to see Jalyn make it back to show group. Regardless of whether she deserved to be on show group her second year, the way Kelli treated her was awful. Jalyn did nothing wrong by stepping out for a minute and collecting herself. People aren’t robots. Im a Kat fan, so I’m happy for her (and her teammates definitely seemed to be) but I think her looks played a part in her making show group. Likewise, I think Lea’s looks played a part in her not making show group. More unnecessary Maddie scenes….I was fine with her being included a couple of episodes ago because she gave relevant advice, but continually talking about her like she’s the world’s best hip hop dancer or one of the best DCCs when she is/was neither has gotten old quick. I liked Ashley, but they couldn’t really justify keeping her further. That cut needed to happen. I think Tyra is my favorite TCC. She is a great dancer, and she always seems so positive about her fellow TCCs. I like Kaydianna. She definitely deserves to make the team, but I’ve always thought her dancing was extra and not in a good way. I’m glad to see Tori doing well too, but I admittedly get her and veteran Dani mixed up sometimes.
  15. Yeah, and I actually think the entrance is hard to learn, and that no one is faking it in their struggles. Now, I think it’s one of those things that once you have it, you have it, but I can easily believe that seasoned dancers would pick up on choreo faster than they would the field entrance.
  16. Favoritism towards Cassie (which I don’t dispute) isn’t what I’m talking about. My post was about whether a vet with a non-season ending injury at tryouts should be taken into training camp and given a chance. It just seems that some people simultaneously suggest that it was right for Danielle and Daphne (who arguably DID have a season ending injury, even before she injured the other knee) to be taken into training camp, but that Cassie should’ve been cut at auditions, and that makes no sense. Poor performance due to a non-season ending injury should be overlooked at tryouts or it shouldn’t be….. and it shouldn’t matter whether it’s Cassie (who I don’t like) or someone like Jada (who I really like). As for TCCs, they’re in a different boat. They haven’t proven themselves as DCCs, but we’ve even seen several tccs who have minor injuries be allowed to sit out of the jump split until the latter half of training camp. We also saw Erica sit out basically the entire training camp until her cut the last year she was there. Ultimately, I think it’s a good thing for the girls- tccs and vets - to be given time to heal from injuries. If Cassie happened to benefit one year, I don’t have a problem with that.
  17. Yes, the argument that injured vets (or mainly just Cassie) shouldn’t have been given a chance in training camp is always odd to me and seems to completely go against the argument that K&J don’t care enough about the team. It’s not like an injury is not a matter of just showing up out or shape or getting outscored because others are better dancers. So, it’s a no brainer to me that a cheerleader who has proven herself and given years to the team should at least be given a chance to recover from her injury in training camp. The fact that it’s Cassie, who a lot of people don’t like, shouldn’t change that analysis. Of course, if the injury gets worse or if it’s clear that the cheerleader won’t be ready in time, that’s a different story, but I firmly believe any injured cheerleader should be given the chance in training camp.
  18. I’m one of those who is sick of Maddie, but I actually didn’t have a big problem with her in this episode. She’s a recent DCC alum, who gave some advice that will be relevant to some of the TCCs. That is much different than the season premiere episode where it felt like Melissa just brought her up to gush about how great she was. That was annoying and so unnecessary. It’s clear that Ashley probably won’t make it, which is unfortunate. I love her look. I also liked Melanie, so hopefully she returns. I like Travis Wall but didn’t care for his choreo.
  19. Ah ok. Well that doesn't bother me. I see it as she's top 36 or she's not, and if she is, then being a 4th year doesn't automatically make her one of the best dancers on the team, such that she should be towards the front. I don't have an issue with Taylor like some others do. She's fine, and she doesn't stand out to me as being lost or chasing the choreo (like Savannah or Meredith did). I would never want a team full of Taylors, but a few blenders aren't an issue to me, especially if they are appropriately placed in the formation, as she is. If she was put up front just because she is a 4th year, then I would have a problem.
  20. What’s the issue with Taylor’s placement in the triangle? She appears to be pretty far back and close the middle.
  21. I didn’t really understand the allure of Alexandria beyond being a former group leader of another NFL dance team. She was fine as a dancer, but nothing special to me. I remember there was one video of the DCCs dancing with the hip hop group, and she looked like she was marking the choreography.
  22. The NBA season has started, and Jenna posted a video of the Mavs dancers at the game. I have no idea which one is her in the video. https://www.instagram.com/tv/CUton0BApTa/?utm_medium=copy_link
  23. I just think social media completely changed the game in this regard. I’m a millennial (whereas I assume Taylor may be Gen Z or right on the borderline between the 2), so I came of age in the 90s and 2000s, and even then, the atmosphere was completely different than it is now. Teenagers were starting to get cell phones when I was in high school but the phones weren’t advanced like they are now, and social media wasn’t yet a big thing. When I was in college, Facebook was for college kids, and IG, Snapchat, etc weren’t around yet. Nowadays, kids have cell phones and tablets in middle and even elementary school, and everything and everyone is on social media. When I was in school, everyone went home after school and sports and had a little bit of a break (outside of phone calls and texts). Now, there is no escape from the drama because of social media. I definitely think that plays a role in developing coping skills.
  24. Yeah. I feel for her because the whole process seems like it’s so pressure-filled that I think anyone could have a slip up. Also, it has to be tough with it being on tv. However, if she couldn’t keep track of the biggest news stories out there, while dancing and working, then that was an understandable reason to cut her because that’s a requirement, whether it should be or not. Also, just being blunt, no one should have needed context to know what the #metoo movement was. It was literally everywhere. I believe that the #metoo movement was named the Time Person of the Year that year. It was absolutely the type of question someone that might get (whether in an interview or casual conversation) without any sort of lead-in or context because it was that prevalent in the news. Regardless, I hope she is doing well.
  25. I thought it was said on here that there was more to the story about the “Melissa-Kyndall” thing. I honestly never put much stock into that rumor. As for the scene where she danced with Jacie, I cringe too because she didn’t dance well, but I don’t really see it as a negative on her part. I saw it as a go for broke sort of thing. Had she danced well, she may have made it. She didn’t dance well, and the result was the exact same as it would’ve been otherwise - she was cut. I didn’t really any downside in it and didn’t really see it as any different from when her girls beg K&J not to cut them in meetings by promising that they’ll get better when they won’t. Gotta do what you gotta do lol. May work, may not, but why not try. In general though, I tend to root for the girls with real jobs, so that was one reason that I roofed for Kyndall the first year. I agree that her dancing wasn’t great.
