  1. The Earth must have tilted on its axis. Whatever the reason, I was grateful for it. The best part of the backstory was Nick waving at his neighbor while using his outdoor shower. It made me giggle. I am completely unspoiled, so this is just speculation, but I'm hoping this means that Nick does really well on Stage 2 After having spent three years putting him in the WWWA-zone, the producers might have felt the need to "re-introduce" him to the general viewing audience. Fingers crossed. Please, show, no more "skits" on the starting platform. Ugh. No. I figured Jessie for Wonder Woman when she wore the "grecian warrior" outfit in Miami. Good for her, but her absence was keenly felt. And gooooo, Najee. Love that kid!
  2. Me too. Although it has occurred to me that bittersweet might involve Brienne dying while Jaime lives on. (Doubtful, I know.) I was not aware of any Conleth sightings until this latest batch of pictures. Does this mean the only named/semi-prominent actor not to have been sighted is Jerome Flynn? I'll be sad if there is no more Bronn to be seen. There have been foilers/speculation about Yara, but I'm not sure if Gemma has been sighted. Seeing Tom W. makes me stupidly happy, even if it's all a trolling ruse.
  3. "... princes who like to shoot girls with arrows" was not only funny, but very meta. Well played, show. Alternate time lines make my head hurt so I'll just settle for the loveliness of Q & E's sojourn.
  4. Noah Kaufman was on the sidelines for both Meagan's and Ian's run. He didn't run this year or last. I wonder how much the gold jumpsuit while clearly commando had to do with him not being selected. This season has been blah for me, in spite of Jesse and Jessie, and Meagan and a few others. I'm really glad we've gotten to Vegas. I think because, in Vegas, we will see difficult, but do-able, obstacles, as opposed the the insanely and sometimes downright sadistic, obstacles on the city courses.
  5. That Rail Runner thingie was brutal. I'm not usually one for background stories, but I will admit to chopping a few onions during the package about the Stangers. I've no idea what effected the change in Mrs. Stanger's condition, but what a joy to see her up and about. I seem to remember that both daughters have been diagnosed with the same syndrome, so being able to deal with the condition will be a relief to the family. Meghan always makes me smile. ETA: The bush pilot was enjoyable. Love his bromance with Nick Hansen.
  6. Had the writers included the character, David Oakes would have made a fine Hyle Hunt. Car Park Richard wins the Internet. It also brings back memories of how uncomfortable I was when watching the documentary about finding his body. The "Ricardian' woman seemed so OTT, I didn't know whether to feel sorry for her or laugh at her. I don't like Michelle Fairly any more than I liked Amanda Hale, so I can hiss and boo at Gregory's version of Margaret Beaufort with abandon, and feel badly about it because MB really did have a traumatizing childhood. I do miss Rupert Graves (who also should have been on Game of Thrones by now) as Stanley. I adore Essie Davis, so this recasting works for me. Thanks to all for the explanations of inaccuracies and the book recommendations.
  7. I so hope you are right. I was speculating that he must go out early on Stage 2, so they weren't wasting any time on his editing. Fingers crossed that you are correct. Speaking of the pretty -- did we see Kyle Cochran at all this year? I was gutted for Nick Hanson. Such a lovely guy. He's young, though, and has lots of time. As much as I am all for women getting their shot, I would have liked to see Michael Stanger get a wild card. Time is critical for that family.
  8. And we're getting as well. He will be my eye candy. I'm really interested to see what the return of means for Reid and Mathilda. Edited because I'm not sure what is or isn't a spoiler in this thread.
  9. There is that seemingly random story that Davos hears when he's making his way to White Harbor - that Ned supposedly impregnated a woman in The Sisters while he was making his own way back North at the start of the rebellion. That child was also called Jon Snow, IIRC.
  10. Oh, I forgot. We didn't lose our junior copper this series. Young Bobby Grace still lives. This was just the best. Drake putting his fist through furniture, Jackson putting a bag on Drake's head, and then Reid showing up all "If the two of you have quite finished...".
  11. I have to watch again. I think I like Swyft (oh hai, Ser Barristan) being locked in the cell, but I'm not sure. Loved Best's final FU. I also liked that the little boy from the train was at the wedding (run Drake, run). I also think that TPTB felt this might be the show's swan song and gave us a ending of sorts for all our boys. I don't think Reid is dead, though, and I do think MM will return for series 4. Which I wish started next week.
  12. Here you go (with a self edit) I couldn't bring myself to type that last word, but it's obvious. As to episode 10,
  13. I seem to recall that she turned to alcohol after series 1 and was institutionalized during series 2. After the time jump, it was revealed that she died. I don't like the actress - perhaps I've only see her play unsympathetic characters - but I did think the show could have made a better ending for her. Gods, I love these guys. I love Drake the most, but only by the width of one of Artherton's (sp?) magnificent ginger whiskers. I'm thrilled for at least 2 more series, and I do think all three of our boys will return.
  14. Did part of the Dorne scene look strange to anyone else? When Hotah brings Bronn in and gives him an elbow to the face, the lighting was funky. It almost looked as if Bronn, and perhaps Hotah, was greenscreened in. Just my television probably. I am just glad Bronn didn't die. In spite of myself, I sort of warmed to Tyene. Her psych out of Nym during the otherwise stupid hand slapping scene was rather clever. I don't believe Ellaria's tears or that the Snakes will go quietly. I do hope the KL bound bunch gets on a ship rather than travel overland and give the SS one last shot at Myrcella. I do think we got a glimpse of Doran's long game (Siddig was fantastic), but whether the show has the capacity to portray it properly remains to be seen. Now I'm hoping that Jaime gets back to KL, finds out about Cersei (he clearly doesn't know yet if he's writing to her), and takes off North, with or without Bronn in tow. Maybe we'll get some version of the Riverlands after all. Shireen's burning was heart wrenching. Such a lovely girl, played by a fine young actress. I'm not a Stannis fan, either in the books or the show. He's a murderer and now twice (thrice if you count Florent) a kinslayer. He can talk all he wants about duty but it's about power pure and simple. Oh, and being completely enthralled by a madwoman. Bully for him for intervening at the Wall, but that doesn't make him admirable in the balance. Brienne can kill him any time now. The final sequence suffered from poor CGI and the standard "lots of attackers stand around while one at a time actually attacks", but it was still effective. Let us hope that Dany lands next week, subdues the new Khal, and heads back for Mereen. It might be too soon for her to leave for Westeros, but I'm hoping that happens early next season. Dreading next week and FTW.
  15. It's in a attic somewhere, right next to Gillian's. Mitch still looks pretty good, too. I enjoyed Gethin Anthony's performance in Game of Thrones, but he's about the last actor I would have thought of to play Manson. Looking forward to what he does with the role. It will be interesting to see how the immediately available for streaming model works out.
  16. This episode felt like a clip show. I still expect Bronn to die, so perhaps this was an attempt to set him up as Tyene's creature in the same way that Oakheart was Arianne's creature. Stannis did drop all those anvils about the unreliability of sellswords. Dorne has been a complete clusterfuck - bad storytelling, the waste of two of the show's more appealing actors, the hijacking of Ellaria's brain, and lackluster to bad casting of new characters - not including Siddig who has had nothing much to do. I hope Davos takes Shireen far away from Mel. Maybe they'll end up at Last Hearth and find Rickon. The last 30 seconds almost saved the episode. Finally!
  17. You might be right, Avaleigh. But I had heard episode 6 based on filming spoilers. So maybe I'll need a drink for Ep 6 and a sedative for Ep 9.
  18. Also rumored to be in episode 6. I'm going to need a drink and a sedative that night.
  19. Doran (what wonderful casting!!) may be sane, but Ellaria isn't - nor, I assume, are the Sand Snakes. The threat to Myrcella is very real and I can see a plot to extract her playing out not unlike the Queenmaker plot, with Jaime as Arianne and Bronn as Oakheart. I hope I am wrong. I don't know what is and isn't a spoiler anymore - given the book/show divergence so I'm going to be cautious. Re Lollys: That said -- this woman was very pleased to see A Man.
  20. Joe Dempsie put out a cryptic tweet: "Still rowin'." I've seen speculation that this means we'll see Gendry again, but it could also imply that Gendry is still in limbo. I hope not. After reading the EW interview with Alex Graves, I'm not certain we'll ever see Stoneheart. The quote references season 4 and he leaves the season 5 answer open ended, but it seems to me that the same logic that applied to S4 would also apply to S5. I've always thought that the confrontation of Jaime and Stoneheart would not be as simple as Brienne delivering him for execution. Depending on how it plays out, D&D may consider her superfluous. I really like the idea of Varys and Tyrion on a road trip, but I suspect they will part company if the show does Griff/Young Griff. Tyrion will join up with Jorah and make for Meereen and Varys will join the invaders so the audience has a familiar face among that crowd. I doubt Septa Lemore will be with them, so I'll have to wait for GRRM to tell me if she's really Ashara Dayne.
  21. Same here - as to both Cat and LS. I'm sure LS will pop up at some point though. I thought I noticed something odd when Arya's ship was leaving port. As the camera tracks Arya moving to the prow of the ship it suddenly pans up to a jutting cliff. It's a strange shot and I had a fleeting impression that there was a cloaked figure standing on the cliff. I remember thinking that the camera would zoom in for a glimpse of LS. I haven't re-watched yet; my eyes were probably playing tricks on me. Tywin/Tyrion did not have the resonance it should have. Still processing why I think not.
