  1. OMG! The part where they suggest things you can do to "make your LulaRoe Dreams happen" including cash advances on your credit cards, cashing out your 401k, and remortgaging your house !!! But my favorite one must be.... "GET A SECOND JOB." So you should get a second job (third job) to pay for your second job selling LulaRoe? LOLOLOLOL. OMG I shouldn't be laughing because I know there are people who will really do this and that's just incredibly sad.
  2. He was a local politician from Nevada. Amy met him in the recount episode and then he comes back for the congressional ball and she leaves to sleep with him shortly after getting shut down by Dan. In the finale she said she'd taken a vacation and been in Nevada for 6 days or something and then later in that ep she had to "check on Buddy" and Selina said "You got a dog" and she said "No, he's my..." But got cut off.
  3. Small moment that I also liked with Ben: when he stood up to give his part of the presentation and everyone turned away from him to the screen to watch a powerpoint that he of course didn't have. I hope everything's okay with Sufe Bradshaw. I'll miss her grounding presence.
  4. I thought the scene with DeAnn and Annika was a bit eye-rolly because of how hard they were dancing around whatever the hell they did. I mean, is it just BDSM? Can you not just come out and say it, considering this is a show that had one character pimp out the hero and another get molested by her stepbrother? That latter bit -- I am so so sick of molestation and rape being every woman's ugly secret. I mean, I get that there's still stigma but..it's just so tired and lazy. Plus this bullshit with the director...why? Why on earth would she even consider being tempted by that dude? I'm not buying it. And I don't understand why NOW Kyle is standing up to Terence and telling him to piss off but last week he didn't protest like this. This show seems a little in love with their secrets (so I'm surprised they didn't drag out the Megan/stepbrother reveal longer), but they better have something pretty good in Kyle's backstory up their sleeve.
  5. And what happened to the beloved "Moni" (Andrew's girlfriend or fiancee?). I think most of the characterizations were pretty on point--they've always been stupider than you'd expect and pretty mean, by and large. I do think some subtlety was missing. Selina full-out telling Catherine "I don't care what you want" seemed too blunt. That was always the implication of their every interaction but Selina was always careful not to say that in so many words--and especially now that she's living off Catherine, it seems like something she wouldn't do. The biggest thing I couldn't buy though was Dan not realizing that if he made Jonah pop off on national TV that it'd be ratings gold and would secure his job rather than lose him his job. This guy has always been the master of angles and spin-- I couldn't believe he didn't think of this. And poor Amy. Lol. She always seemed the savviest/most competent of the bunch. I'm just glad she didn't actually marry Buddy, which is what I suspected at the end of last season. Overall I'm just so glad this show is back. I hope we get a glimpse at Sue every once in a while too (even though she's with Laura Montez.) I do wonder how they'll continue to keep them all intersecting going forward.
  6. Inbar Lavi is also on the new Prison Break reboot, using what I presume is her real accent (though probably amplified.)
  7. That very first shot of her looking in the mirror in the dress....she did look uncharacteristically rough there. I actually wondered if they made her up to play her looks down in that bit since they were cutting back to the flashback Maddie. When it came back from the flashback and through the rest of the ep though...I thought she looked better/like her usual lovely self.
  8. No? It's a combo coming of age/star is born story. (Gilmore Girls ran for 6 seasons without a plot beyond mother-and-daughter team navigate life.)
  9. Beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder. I think Levi is drop-dead gorgeous, she reminds me a little of Audrey Tautou in her Amelie days. (Although I recently read an interview with her that made it clear she was surprised to be cast because she didn't think she was beautiful enough to play Maddie.) I thought the 15-year-old they cast as young Maddie was not a match lookswise, let's say. Interviews with the showrunners called the bit with her cousin "a make-out session" but I distinctly heard pants being unbuckled/zipped before he said "You've done this before?" so...uh, I assumed they took it further (esp. the smash-cut to him grinning at the dinner table.)
  10. I think he's hot stuff AND I'm glad he'll get a shot at doing some outright comedy, which I don't think he's done before. Probably why he's taking the role. Many years back he was the increasingly bright spot in the circling-the-drain mess that was the latter seasons of Smallville, bringing humor and charm. Bad Moms was better than I expected from the trailers, the three leading ladies are all great, and I'll look forward to checking this out.
  11. I so enjoyed this show and really hope we get a second season. The last reveal with Ezra and the ring was really fantastic. (I also liked that it ended up being Jules running away in the dress/getting on the boat.) I didn't quite understand why Maddie didn't take the money and while part of me is glad for Ezra's triumph, part of me wanted Maddie to pull it all off and escape again (with the ring and the money). I expected when Max found the note that he would look up and Lenny would be there, so I'm glad that she showed up at the end there at least. The Maddie backstory was also surprisingly mundane. I thought it was going to be her conning the cousin to get revenge but....sleeping with him is a little weird but I don't know that it landed as a real revenge? Though I read some of the showrunners' post mortems and I guess the intention was just that she could pull something like that off out of boredom, which...ok. (I do like that they didn't want to give her some traumatic event like a rape to turn her into a "bad" girl.) If we do get a season 2, hopefully we get more of Uma Thurman than we did this season as well.
  12. One of the things that's been bothering me the past two episodes is that...Kyle seems too young to believably be this important. I struggled with him rewriting the movie script (I mean....is he even that intelligent never mind that important?) last week, and then this week that whole scene with Terence was a bit ridiculous. I can't imagine anything in Kyle's past that makes him allow Terence to prostitute him. So he had a shitty father and a tough upbringing. At this point, short of hiding something huge like he murdered his mother or whatever, I don't get it. He's clearly not hiding the fact that he might be gay, unlike some possible real-life influences for this series. (And in contemporary Hollywood, I really don't know if that'd even be such a huge deal.) Is it just Stockholm Syndrome/brainwashing? Terence has given me everything thus I MUST do whatever he says? I guess the only way that scene works if he really is young and super impressionable. Because I cannot imagine a Tom Cruise-type not just saying "Fuck you and the horse you rode in on. I made this cult what it is and I can walk away at any time" to those kind of threats. The way Terence is handling Kyle took quite the turn this episode, and not necessarily a believable one for me.
  13. What a racket. I wonder if she could sell her inventory to another consultant (or multiple consultants) if the area is so saturated and make her money back that way. There's probably rules against that too.
  14. CBS has posted close-up full versions of all the songs they did at the FYC panel: It was a Shitshow https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yGN1K8QZfc Remember that We Suffered Maybe This Dream Tell Me I’m Ok, Patrick You’re My Best Friend (and I Know I’m Not Yours) Ping Pong Girl Let’s Have Intercourse Friendtopia This is also an interesting clip where they discuss a specific editing choice they made with regards to a key Greg scene.
  15. There was an Emmy For Your Consideration panel with the cast last night and they did a LOT of musical numbers (Shitshow, We Have Struggled, Maybe This Time, Ping Pong Girl, Tell Me I'm OK Patrick, and best of all Friendtopia with David Hull stepping in for Vella Lovell's part. Check out Jarrett Weiselman's twitter stream for highlights. They also announced that David Hull and Scott Michael Foster will be regulars for next season.
  16. Seriously, Stef and Lena have honestly morphed into the worst parents on TV. I think their bad decisions far outweigh even Callie's at this point. Last week's whole sex thing with Jesus was beyond ridiculously indulgent. Plus, would any teenage boy seriously ask their mom to call the doctor to find out if they could have sex? He can pick up a damn phone, and then we wouldn't all have had to been subject to those horribly awkward discussions. Brandon needs to go get a real job if he's not in college. Mariana needs to rediscover coding and STEM/STEAM classes. Jude needs to lay off the pot brownies. Callie...there's no words. If she's going to run off with Diamond to go work for her pimp next week...Ugh.
  17. I always loved his designs the best. But I never really watched him when he went on to do other shows.
  18. Frank! I couldn't, for the life of me, remember his name. He always seemed so darling. OTOH I have no idea who Tim is? Did I make up a designer? I believe so.
  19. It won't be the same if they don't have Mindy Paige Davis Page and Tim and Hildi and Genevieve and Doug and VERN!!
  20. This was the thread where people were talking about Trading Spaces, right? It's returning in 2018 to TLC! Trading Spaces returning to TLC
  21. Not to mention he was barely participating in that "phone sex". I find his roboticized self when he's not "on" for the public to be creepy af. I hope there's a future reveal that someone is drugging this dude. Was there mention of medication prevoiusly? (Also, how do you not follow up that comment about his uncle threatening him with more inquiries about whether he was abused or some sympathy or just...something?) All I kept thinking this episode though is why do these people keep putting themselves in these high profile situations where they could be potentially recorded/photographed and eventually discredited and/or embarassed? Kyle West just telling people not to use their phones on karaoke night? C'mon now, son. I want to know more about Terence and DeAnn's weird forced-seeming relationship. And I want to yell at Shaun a big "Girl, you in danger" too.
  22. All I could think all episode was of someone's comment here that they should all go live in Becca's enormous lab that easily withstood the previous apocalypse. Seriously. Build an underground tunnel between that place and her mansion, board up the windows, and you are golden, people.
  23. And doesn't eat through rubber tires.
  24. Abby's sentencing is May 8 (it mistakenly said March 8 earlier up this thread).
