Commercials That Annoy, Irritate or Outright Enrage
RealityGal replied to Maverick's topic in Commercials
I like where you're going with this! Can they do a double high five in this commercial? And are they going to be some sort of cartoon mammal? Or are you thinking human? Some provocative mix of human/cartoon mammal? -

damn you Lowe's!!!!! A pox on the house of Lowes for keeping Caleb from the world with their many work shifts! Is this the same video that is going to get him drafted to the NFL?* * - as long as another Lowe's shift doesn't ruin everything. -

But won't they recognize him from his numerous modelling contracts? Or that issue of Sports Illustrated he was in? or did he turn that down? -

But I'm not sure where Charmin even fits into that phrase. I mean, if you get technical, Charmin really isn't part of the "go." I think they should say "enjoy the after go" -
oh yuck! I totally opened the door to that comment, but oh gross. So wrong!

*gasp* OMG, I didn't see that at all! I totally thought he had been playing the piano.

Well, it would give him the chance to call a whole new audience "donkey's" :)

I noticed the defensive attitude I spoke of from her first post. Before I had said a word to her. She said she wasn't here to defend herself and then immediately started to defend herself. She seemed perfectly happy to post as long as the responding comments were "I agree Angela, you totally got an unfair edit!" or "Heidi was so mean!" But when the comments were even a little critical of her intentions (which according to her, wasn't to defend herself, but to make friends) or of what she said, suddenly it was that people don't have sympathy, and she simply shouldn't post anymore. Even though every person who was even a little critical of her intentions encouraged her to continue posting, but not to continue to defend herself (which she said she didn't want to do). But she had made her personality the subject of her posts, so I don't think its unreasonable to question her personality or her intentions. And so, if what Angela wants is a place where she can simply say what she wants without any potential criticism, then I can agree with her, that this may not be the right place for her. Mostly because a forum, while not the final frontier of First Amendment values, does seem more designed for a free flow of ideas and thoughts, positive and negative.

liquidating assets....interesting, I wonder if she is going to start trying to hide money -
Ewww, that commercial is almost the worst, until I saw this gem I mean where do I begin 1. I have no problem with older people having sex, I hope to have sex for a long, long time, but I don't want to think about people my parents age (and above!) having sex, because then I have to admit that my parents might have sex, and I'm not entirely ready to admit to that, since I'm of the opinion that I was delivered to my parents by a Stork named Storkie. 2. Why is he poking her on that tire swing? How is that supposed to get her hot? Is he doing this in the 4 minutes he has post pump before he gets "ready?" 3. Do people really slow dance in their kitchen? 4. Creepy, real man testimonials....ack! 5. Medicare AND major insurance cover penis pumps, but people can't get their cancer treatments paid for. I guess the AARP is a strong lobby. 6. Why do you need to be ready in 4 minutes? Most of these men look like they are retired, why does it need to happen so fast? 7. It's nice to know you can return it....less the shipping and handling. I surely hope they aren't refurbishing them to sell at a discount.

Saying it isn't as bad as the Belk wall isn't saying much. The Belk accessory wall was just awful. The thing is, I've been in an Aldo, and I remember them having handbags and shoes, but I don't remember much jewelry.

Season 16 Live Feed Discussion: Keeping an Eye Out

I generally wear a full head weave, so I don't find anything at all wrong with extensions. But I also don't find anything wrong with vanity either, i think its okay to want to look like what you perceive to be pretty. But a lot of the times I do it all, makeup, heels, dresses, hair, and I've never found any of it to be ridiculous. IMO, life is too short to not do what makes you feel better about yourself, and I'm of the opinion that when you think you look good it can make you feel good. However, I don't understand why they hurt, I've known people with 30 inch weaves who haven't had headaches from the weight of the hair so i wonder if she isn't somehow clipping them in wrong. As for Christine, I can't possibly believe she would ask CBS not to air a Zing for her, they owe her absolutely nothing. I hope she asks them and I hope they laugh in her face. -
I think the online voting does count, if for no other reason than it gives FN an idea of where to go. I think unless they really, really want another person to win, they would probably honor the online voting if they could. I mean why even have a show like that unless the fans of the show have some investment in the show. If the fans aren't invested in the show because they think their voting doesn't count some will simply decide not to watch/vote/visit the FN web page to vote. But I do think that FNS does reserve the right to wiggle out if its online voting results in something they really, really, really don't want.

A contract is generally written to benefit the party that holds all the cards. With the FNS contract, I imagine it outlines what the contestants owe FN, but there won't be much that the contract would say FN owes the contestants. As far as how the winner is chosen, I don't think that would even be in the contract per se, because fairness in competition if I understand it correctly (the whole game show thing) is what a "game show" would owe its audience, not the contestants. Which is why so many of these reality show competitions have fine print at the end saying that the producers have final say, so even if they say "you get to choose America" what they really mean is "you get to choose America - but the producers really have the final say" As far as the actual prize, that may be outlined in the contract (I would think as consideration) but I would think anyone writing that contract (which I'm assuming is written by FN, and not really subject to negotiation) would give FNS the wiggle room to change the prizes as they see fit, or as necessary. Or even better, they write it as "the opportunity to have a show on Food Network...." and if that doesn't work out maybe a small stipend in its place. In the case of Hells Kitchen, I would bet it was worth it to Fox or whomever to pay her $25,000 because thats probably around the amount they would have had to spend in litigation or arbitration anyways.

that looked like a guy who sort of looked like Zach IMO. But on another note, that movie looks awful to me, and I like comedies. Does she know what a MILF is? -
OMG! That is so freaking awesome! Its so cool that you did that, I wish I had a talent so I too could contribute to the snark art community!

Um...I think the word you're looking for is "diposition" or "disposition" because I believe that is what they quoted Apollo as calling it. Which I thought was just special. :) -
LMAO...that yellow, it's like the yolk of an egg, which can be put on top of a red robin burger. That design is sweet...much like the pineapple slice that can be put on top of your red robin burger. That yellow brown beige tone is like the garbanzo beans we use to make our meatless Red Robin burgers.

Ugh, the thought of being under the vagina table in human or insect form has me freaked out. Yeah, I think the show itself is the stand alone. Which makes me feel a little better about Lenny, because if thats the case, they may not be invested enough to put a ton of money behind him to make a real show that they think will be successful.

I actually think Sean might be going home next week. So far, the best thing he has done has been the Cruella DiVille straw dress (which I would have loved even more as a jacket). But he has been in the bottom twice now, he isn't getting a "drama queen/bitch edit" (neither is the girl with the nose ring, Samantha?? or Christine). I think Alexander was ripe for a redemption because they were so hard on him the week before, I think Sean was the first of the bottom three last week to be saved, so it was just Alexander was just in. So it made for a great redemption story, even though I felt his dress should have only been safe. I don't know that they were really all that hard on Sean this week. I know they snapped at him about knowing what deconstructed meant, but I felt like Zac was sort of like "well, I don't like it, but I see where you were coming from, and it just came off looking messy" But seriously, its like trying to handicap a weiner dog race...what do I know?

I wish I was a fly on the wall of the FNS room* so I could know if they really expect that a show based around whoever is chosen as FNS will be successful, or if they are only worried about FNS ratings as a stand alone show and aren't all that concerned about the person who wins becoming a long term member of the Food Network Team. If they just care about the ratings for the show, and basically just produce a show for the winner as a way to "keep their promise" and of course to reap the benefits IF the show succeeds, then I certainly think you're correct. But if they are really really wanting to see a popular show come from the winner, than they may be worried about the quality of whomever is chosen as well as the ratings for the flagship show (FNS) *I would like to be a fly only if I were invincible and I could return to being a human after the meeting was over. I still want a show where I just surprise Pah Stahl twice a day and kick him in the nuts. Just thinking about it makes me smile. I wonder if they will let me on if thats my POV?
-
I don't know, I've always seen FNS being to TC what "Fashion Show" or "Fashion Star" is to "Project Runway." Top Chef and Project Runway, IMO are always going to get the most talented designers and chefs, and maybe it just comes from being the original. I do think that if they changed the format it might be different. I mean what should the focus be, they have their three big stars there, Giada, Alton and Bobby. Were these three better chefs, or better TV personalities when they started. If they mostly just want a TV personality, then just focus on that, and look to get people who have been in the culinary industry and so can be called a food authority, but don't expect them to cook, especially if you're going to just send them around tasting and making suggestions about other peoples food/restaurants. And then you can widen the POV...instead of kind of forcing a POV around the contestants cooking. If they mostly want someone who can cook, then stop having challenges where they have to be against a green screen, or do a PayDay commercial. I do think its hard to find someone with both an on-air talent, and an ability to cook well, and fit them into the very set boxes that FN seems to want them in. So what happens is you get someone who can sort of do those three things at 50% and thats the best you can get, which isn't that great to launch a show off of. IMO, and YMMV

Which I assure you could have been traced back to Sandaya somehow....and how much she fears Hernan's colossal talent as a designer.

I would have died laughing if the Red Robin guy was like "we're going to give you all bottomless fries....which you will use to make an accessory for your garment!"
