  1. Congratulations. I hope you have a happy, healthy baby!!!! Did a shift at Lowe's get in the way again?
  2. But he doesn't have eyebrows. Maybe if Bosley can find a way to transfer dumb looking facial hair to eyebrow hair.....
  3. You can sign an ironclad contract, but there are some rights you have that can't be signed away, no matter what the contract, and many one sided contracts can be voided if they are considered unconscionable in their terms. Most torts though address something that has actually happened, but I guess one could argue that whatever Frankie said was a threat, and allowing Victoria to live there when there is a credible threat of violence is negligent.
  4. ^^I second this emotion. We must go to the same optometrist, because I also wear jaded glasses. As time goes on, it seems like Shandaya falls more into the phony category, which stinks because I really enjoyed her at first, so maybe we'll see something different. How much do I love RuPaul? A lot!
  5. It's interesting that production would force her to say something, I've never heard of that before. I've heard of leading questions and creative editing, but I've never heard of someone being forced to say something in a particular way or totally disagree. But even if she were forced to begin a statement with "I have an advantage at Mood because..." one could answer it with "I have an advantage at Mood because I know where the fabrics are, but its still difficult because the right fabric is different depending on the challenge." IMO, that just sounds honest. Even if a producer chopped that answer off before the but, it would have sounded a lot less smug than Amanda's response (which I found to be smug in both tone and substance). As for the genuineness of here statement, she does have an advantage at Mood, she has shopped there under time constraints, but at the same time any of the other designers could have gone to Mood to get the layout of the store. The others haven't shopped under a time constraint and thats an advantage, but as far as Mood is concerned is it a monumental advantage? I don't think so. The right fabric depends on the challenge, and the design the contestant has to create. So she may know where things are right off the bat, but she hasn't been in Mood for a year, and other designers could have easily visited Mood before applying to the show. What the other designers don't know, and what she doesn't know is what the challenge is. So if her answer had reflected that she had an advantage in regards to Mood, but not the biggest advantage ever, I would have thought that was an honest response. I would also be surprised to learn that Michelle limited her feelings to the confessional, when she seemed so very open about expressing her opinion in her very attitude towards Patricia. I remember Michelle being rude and dismissive towards Patricia, and I think you can convey that attitude very easily without words, so I don't get the impression it was any big secret. I don't think its a stretch to imagine that someone who is willing to give scathing reviews of someone elses work when they know it will be shown to millions is not going to mince words talking to their friend in the apartment at night when the camera crew may not be around. So I don't think Michelle's attitude or feelings was a big shock to Amanda. And I think choosing to associate with someone who is a jerk can be evidence of a persons personality. I don't think for a minute that Amanda didn't know who Michelle was. Saying you might be friends with Michelle before you saw her confessional, to me, is saying that Amanda somehow missed aspects of Michelle's personality, but IMO, its unlikely that spending as much time with her as she did that Amanda was blindsided by Michelle's confessionals. And if she wasn't blindsided then she knew exactly who Michelle was and decided that she wanted to be her friend. So - in the end, M always V's. I don't much care for Amanda, but others do. Some people like vanilla ice cream, I like chocolate, other people will only eat Dippin' Dots....what are you gonna do? :)
  6. Re: the yellow. I can't remember who said it, but one of the judges said that the yellow would have worked if the design had just been simple. And I think thats true. My skin is darker toned, and I love wearing the color yellow, I think even that shade of yellow (maybe a tad darker) because it pops against my skin. But, in mentally reviewing my closet, all of my yellow dresses are very simple. I think the dresses would have been better if they weren't as complex. Chars had lace over leather and then the strips of cloth for the skirt, it was too much. Shandaya's was the same thing, it was a simple top covered in this elaborate yellow handwork, and then the bottom looked elaborate too. I think if the designs had been more simple, and the dresses executed to perfection the yellow might have worked. Of course, since they have such limited time, I think perfect execution is really difficult. I think people like Kini, Chris March and Daniel are rarities.
  7. this reminds me of the time when my blood sugar was low and I yelled at a manager at Red Lobster for failing to give me biscuits and honey. Even as I was yelling at her, I knew something was wrong, but for some reason, the only thing I wanted to bring up my blood sugar was cheddar bay biscuits and honey, and she kept telling me that they didn't have any biscuits, which I called bullshit on because I think they were just trying to be cheap by not giving you biscuits until your dinner came out. Either way, I didn't realize it was such a closely guarded secret, but it makes sense since you can't copyright protect a recipe. I think christine will hurt for a little while, but it seems like things will get back to normal for her with her husband. It doesn't sound like he has too many irons in the fire. I think what might happen is that Christine will reach out to Cody and find that he really isn't all that into her, and she isn't the best option in a world full of much more physically attractive women. Well, with RS it is always hyperactive annoying, but with a very positive message. Wear short shorts and burn off fat and you can do it!
  8. I'm hoping it goes down how you said. I need that TG save for Fade. But I think TG was right to use his save on Justin, because I really enjoyed Justin's collection. So if he uses it on Char I just have to hope she has something amazing up her sleeve.
  9. I don't think I'm making up reasons not to like Amanda. As I remember it, she and Michelle were a pair, and I couldn't stand Michelle, so that could be part of it. Honestly, I don't think my distaste for Amanda in her season came from anything Kate said. If anything it came from her choosing to associate herself with Michelle. And has been aggravated by her current smug attitude, that I don't care for. I could absolutely see people calling her out for being a phony. Just mentioning the advantage at all, to anyone is reason enough to expect that at some point people are going to call you out on it. And I think the editors probably think they are making her look good, I'm sure they think that we are all amused by her lines about "laying down some sweet tunes.*" And they have shown this tiff between her and Korina/Char almost entirely in a way that favors her. We didn't hear what Korina or Char actually said to her, we didn't hear the tone, we didn't hear the context, we didn't hear them explain it (Char a little). We heard Amanda recount what both people told her from her point of view, we saw her explain it to a sympathetic Fade (I'm hoping he stays above whatever drama she wants to suck him into), and we saw her put on the waterworks in her TH. My point being, I hardly think the editors are trying to give her a bad edit, I think they are working to give her the best edit possible. This is why it wouldn't surprise me in the least that she has mentioned her huge advantage to other contestants, and the editors chose not to show it because they want her to have a good edit. She comes off so smug and pleased about it in her TH that I can't imagine her not letting some of that seep into conversation. Although strangely, this monumental advantage, has not stopped her from sending shitty clothes down the runway, so maybe she should reconsider her smug attitude, since Fade and Kini, who have never been on the show put out far superior clothing than her weekly homage to fringe. Most of what I have to go by, as a viewer, is what the editors show me. To assume that the editors are misrepresenting a situation is assuming something that you don't know has happened. I know that what is shown did happen, but I can't know that what hasn't been shown has happened. I do know that Amanda had a tiff with two other contestants and the editors have chosen to show us almost no explanation from the two other contestants, or any attempt to give context to the comments, and so based on that it seems like they seem invested in giving Amanda a good edit. Beyond that there is a way to answer even leading questions in a way that doesn't make you look smug: Example Producer: "So what's your advantage as a returning player when you go shopping at Mood?" Potential Answer A: "I mean, its great because I have an idea of where the different fabrics are, but we only get a limited amount of time in Mood, and we have to consider our fabric choices in light of the challenge, so picking a fabric is still going to be difficult." Potential Answer B: "well, obviously I have an advantage, I mean I've been there before, and I know where everything is, so obviously having been a previous contestant I have a big advantage." IMO, Answer A makes the contestant sound like they are both acknowledging the advantage, but recognizing that its still a challenge, answer B, which IMO sounded more like Amanda's response, makes the person sound smug and overconfident. * - certainly some people are very amused by Amanda's demeanor and find her comments about "laying down sweet tunes" to be fun and whimsical. And of course, it goes without saying that MV on these things.
  10. There was an episode of Golden Girls that dealt with the same thing. Dorothy told Blanche that she would look younger if she looked at herself with a mirror above her. Blanche responded that she looked amazing and would have to meet all her men laying down. Dorothy zinged her by saying she thought Blanche did meet all her men on her back.
  11. Their logo is a giant H, so I'm sure they are going to try. Since their programming seems focused on rednecks who like to pawn stuff I too am shocked at an actual program about history.
  12. I don't know, the camera always seems to catch the wording on his clothes, and I think they could simply ask him to stop wearing the shirts if it was bothersome. I think its what someone else said - he hasn't been cast to cause drama, or as an OTT personality, he really really has talent, so I think they will get rid of the cannon fodder and once the pool of contestants gets to be fewer they will focus on him.
  13. Jack to Liz: "good god Lemon, your breath, when did you find time to eat a diaper you found on the beach?"
  14. I agree, Michelle is one of the people I dislike the most from all the seasons. Whiny, entitled, more whiny, and then what you said. Ugh, and then she was with Leyana and Helen. These are the two other people that get on the list of least likable people from all seasons. Strange to think that one season had that many people I truly disliked. And I think I have a high threshold for crazy, in fact, I liked Sandro and Alexander. Amanda navigated towards that group, and so she has gotten painted with that same brush. And this second time around, I don't find her particularly genuine or likable. And as often as she has mentioned that she has this amazing advantage over everyone, as much as she has made an issue of it, she shouldn't be shocked that people are calling her on it. And yes, she has primarily mentioned the "advantages" in the TH, but I can't imagine it hasn't come up in the workroom. Since she feels to feel such happiness over having these advantages. And IIRC (and I might not), she felt the same ire over Patricia's wins in her season because she felt that they weren't deserved. Well, now, I think thats how people feel towards her. She sends down a dress that should perhaps be safe and is somehow in the top 3, that was I think how a lot of them (myself included) felt about Patricia in her season. The judges would laud her work, and people would get upset with her because they didn't think she deserved the accolades. The tears might have been the first time I felt like she wasn't putting on some sort of persona.
  15. Dear Frankie, If they are your fans and they aren't watching, are you absolutely sure they are your fans? Sincerely yours, Logic
  16. Jack Welsh to Jack: "Look, I know how much Don meant to you, and if you need to pass some eye water, I'll be happy to get you some weakness tissues."
  17. You're right. And like someone else pointed out, she isn't suing production. One would expect that someone working in production would be constantly checking in with Stevie and Joseline backstage. And if someone from production "eyewitnessed" Joseline and Stevie smoking crack it would probably result in a negligence lawsuit, or a negligent supervision claim. So apparently these "eyewitnesses" are just random people that were in the dressing room, and somehow Stevie and Joseline hid their crackpipes from the production people who would be popping in constantly to check up on them? It doesn't make sense. I think Thee Thee knows people as desperate as she is to get on TV and be relevant. Those people seem to be willing to say anything a la the "driver." Anyone can file a claim with any sort of "proof" but it would not surprise me in the least to find out that Thee-Thee's "eyewitnesses" were never even at the reunion, and are, in fact from another state entirely.
  18. When Tim saved Justin, I had no idea what he was thinking. Up to that point the stuff Justin made was at best passable, at worst, made with a glue gun. But Tim was right and I was wrong, and I knew I was dead wrong about his decision when I saw that dress with the tubing walk down the runway and heard the story behind his collection. So as much as I've been disappointed by Tim recently, he does have the ability to see something in people, some talent that maybe we don't see during the show. Having said that, I really need for him to save his Tim Gunn save for Fade. I'm hoping next week that someone did something to disqualify them this week and so they have to be sent home and Char brought back. And the person they disqualify isn't Fade. And Tim Gunn can retain his "save"
  19. Now that you uys say it, I can see sabotage too, because she could have asked the model for her measurements, surely she doesn't think that all models have the same measurements, so she knew better. But if the pants didn't work she could have been like "well I tried to help her"
  20. Ugh, file that tidbit under "things I never ever needed to know"
  21. I actually enjoyed Tim in this episode. I liked what he said to Char, he can only use the TG save once, and for most designers I think he doesn't think they are talented enough, or he agrees with the decision so never in a million years would he use the TG save on them. For him to say that if it were further along he would save her, to me just says that he thinks she is deeply talented, and I think thats how she saw it too. As a sign of his respect for her talent, but realistically, its too soon for him to use the TG save. And I need him to save that for Fade in case the judges get any ideas..... I thought Char wanted yellow, but Sandhya wanted that particular shade of yellow and Char wanted something softer.
  22. This episode 1. Fade - I agree, I want him to be my friend! I like him so much. I loved his dress, but I like him even more, when he was like "you come tell me, I let the model go naked!" He is just too cute. 2. Char - I'm sad she was eliminated, especially since it seems like the yellow was Shandaya's decision. I also noticed that almost every humble remark Char would make on the runway, Shandaya would parrot. I'm not sure what it means, it was just odd 3. Amanda/Korina - of course they were going to be partners, whatever...button bag...whatever. I don't even mind producer intervention in putting the teams together, but stop acting like its totally random. 3b. Amanda/Korina - I'm glad someone called Amanda out. Even if it was Korina. Did she honestly think no one was going to say anything, she herself keeps touting how she has an advantage because she was already there, so she didn't think anyone was going to say anything about her having an advantage? The advantage she is always talking about? I also think the designers wouldn't have as much of a problem with her wins if they didn't seem so undeserved. I think if Fade, Kini, or Emily were winning it wouldn't be an issue, but even Amanda's best looks should have maybe been safe, but winning? It's the same treatment Shandaya got, because people don't really see why she is winning. 3c. Amanda/Korina - should have been in the bottom. I thought Amanda's dress was ugly, and pretty much, a modified fringe dress, IMO. Korina's top was ugly, and I think the fabric was ugly too. 4. Emily - I didn't hate her look, but I agreed with Nina, you gotta pick between the super long sleeves and the hood. It truly reminded me of something Estelle Getty wore to a funeral in Golden Girls. But I liked the top part of the dress. 5. Alexander - for some reason when he said his model had a "sneaky peeky cheeky moment" I just thought that was the most amusing thing. 6. Time - I agree with whoever made the comment calling bullshit on Nina for asking "what did you do with your time?" Whatever PR 7. Kini - he was robbed but that was his own fault, he should have made it clear that he made the shirt, they asked them who made what, so he should have said something. Even if they didn't ask, he could have fit it into the conversation.
  23. where is the African magic doctor? Can CBS bring him in?
  24. Well, this will make the Derrick win go down a little smoother. In fact, this makes the entire male dominated game go down a little smoother, if these are the women they cast, then may they lose and lose hard. I thought Julie could have been 10x tougher on Aaryn and I would have still wanted her to end the interview by punching that bitch in the throat. Or even...no Frankie, America just doesn't like you. I also love RuPaul, she is one of the people I would just want to sit down and talk to. We could open the library and read people, or just talk about anything.
  25. Someone on this board used to make the funniest comments about her. So mean, but so hilarious. I thought she looked particularly bad, but I felt it was more the color of the dress...well maybe that and her makeup.
