Supernatural Bitterness & Unpopular Opinions: You All Suck
FlickChick replied to mstaken's topic in Supernatural
You are hitting on something that has bothered the hell out of me. The music is so atrocious (IMO) that I find it annoying and also making the dialog more difficult to understand. When I watch the earlier episodes, there are quiet scenes - no music, or perhaps just the slightest hint of a theme in the background. NO MORE! It competes for your attention and not in a positive way. No classic rock - just poorly scored scene after scene. I really want to know who is responsible for this is it Dabb or is it Singer? Because I'm of the opinion that Carver probably could hold his own in a disagreement over style/music, etc., but I don't think Dabb can. -
I don't - I feel duped! Along with angry, annoyed and shaking-my-head at the writer's/showrunner's lack of originality.

Are you referring to repopulating Heaven with all the currently dead angels? Or perhaps, Jack could actually have a dark side and attempt to take over Earth with his angel army. Either could be interesting - especially the latter, since I think Dark!Jack would be more interesting than the cinnamon roll version. But that's just me.

Re: the freeze frame. We also have to remember that in "The French Mistake" it clearly was considered a last resort and the word used to describe it was "serviceable". So, I, as a viewer see it now and consider the "freeze frame" of Dean!Michael's eyes as a disservice to the character. JMO -
Their last episode of the season (last year) put closure on a significant relationship and the team in general. Not too bad of an ending as such things go with TV - could have been a cliffhanger or something worse.

Hey, we could always have Michael "hiding" in Dean while he peruses this world for half a season, only "coming out and taking control" when he's not with Sam. That way we get the best of both worlds - Dean with Sam (memory wiped) and Dean!Michael while he plots and decides what he wants to do over here - perhaps make a friend of Jack so he might be able to use Jack's power (when Jack gets it back) for his purposes. Nah, too creative for this group of writers. :(

Man, I miss those - it's hilarious!

You and me both! If the writers insist on the same amount of "filler" nonsense with fewer episodes in which to show it, I'm going to be an unhappy camper!

Many have been discussing the poor editing that's been going on for a season or two. I've noticed such things as well. I suspect this "invisible time elapse" is one of the poor editing choices. Or since the writing sucks, it could be too. :(

I assume that you meant "none of the writers ARE talented enough..." And I agree with that statement. -
Some days the kids that are running the schedule ;) put on five or six episodes; other days, three, other days four. Y'know, they get bored with same old, same old. LOL

Hope springs eternal! LOL

Interesting that you should bring SKB up because I was watching "Hunted" the other day and it really struck me how good his scenes with Jensen are - because their performances were equal in quality. In other words, I feel that Jensen is every bit as good an actor as Sterling and could be having a similar career if not for his choice to stay on Supernatural. I am very happy for Sterling's success but wish I could feel that same way about Jensen at this juncture.

The girl's name is Kaia and she was part of the "Wayward Sisters" spin-off cast. Yes, I believe she either died or was left behind in that dinosaur world. I imagine that she wasn't shown again because the showrunner hoped to have "Wayward Sisters" picked up as a series next season and tell her story then. However, it was not picked up, so we may see her character in the future on Supernatural, or more likely, she may not appear again if they are not going to other worlds.

I also agree with @Myrelle that the reason we have Michael!Dean was to entice JA to sign the contract they wanted. If true, isn't that sad! But, I believe that the possession will be short-lived so TPTB can get on with the stories they want to tell about other characters - namely, Jack, Mary and Sam (Cas doesn't get much love either). I also believe that they will bring back Lucifer somehow so that they can have their favorite villain and even, perhaps, give Sam a chance to finally kill him most sincerely dead. IMO Dabb's world doesn't include Dean - the character is an afterthought, sidekick - just a pawn on the board of the King (Sam) Queen (Mary) Bishop (Jack) and Knight/Rook combo (Lucifer).

Yes guys, I saw the wings too. I still have no faith that Dabb who has a hard-on for the character (or perhaps Mark?), will have it be permanent. We'll see...
-
I haven't finished reading all the comments, but I have to ask - why do so many believe that Lucifer is really, most sincerely dead? I mean, praise Chuck if he is, but I personally won't believe it until we go an entire season without seeing the character in any manner, shape or form. Sorry, I have NO FAITH that this isn't another "gotcha" moment in this show. Now, I'll return to the comments.

True that!

He's probably really enjoying the SPN "family" and all it entails. He seems like a nice guy and I loved his work as the villain I loved to hate. I still like him even though he's not as evil. :)

I agree 1000% about the music. It's been awful since Dabb took over IMO. Little classic rock and annoying as hell loud background music. I checked several months ago, and the same two guys are still listed, so I have to believe the change comes from TPTB. So we not only get fewer scenes with the boys, lousy characters (Lucifer, Mary) shoved down our throats, but the music is going to crap as well. THANKS DABB - AND FUCK YOU.
