S14.E01: Los Angeles Auditions #1
Percysowner replied to Drogo's topic in So You Think You Can Dance
To be fair, I've been on a couple of boards where he is just getting SLAMMED for the (rather innocuous) comment. People are swearing up and down that they will not watch the show. Nigel really does want to keep this show on the air, so he's partly doing what he needs to in order to make that happen. -
He was my favorite too, so I am sad right now. I'm rooting for Emily to take it all now.

Well, Margo did offer to get pregnant and give up that child to seal the deal, but the fairies said they wanted Fen's child. So, I suspect that the Fairies want that child, even if it's not Elliot's OR if they really want a royal child, they may make Margot fulfill her original offer.

It's really hard to say. There are regional, cultural and even familial differences in language. When my Dad remarried my step-family all said they put things up, when everyone I knew put them away. They announced they could care less, when everyone I knew couldn't care less. Even today the terms for carbonated soft drinks range from pop to soda to coke to something else. It's really hard to say something wasn't being used used as a colloquialism by some people.

I think the subtle clue is not that Rebecca lied about dating the Keyboardist, but that she felt she needed to lie about it. She said she knew Jack "would go crazy", not just object to her going on tour, so this sounds like an underlying problem. We've seen Jack as pretty perfect, but I suspect there is more going on in their background. Maybe we are about to start seeing his flaws.

This. No kid, even back in the 80s and 90s was unaware that they were heavy. Having your parents constantly point it out only makes food a bigger issue. As to why Kate was heavy and the boys weren't, we have been getting some studies that indicate that weight can be tied to things that are not behavior related. One study indicates that overweight may be influenced by our gut bacteria. Another study correlates a certain virus with being overweight. When society then blames an overweight person for being overweight, that can lead to stress eating which makes the problem worse. Having a parent who focuses on weight can have the same effect. Bedazzling has been around for a while. It would come and go as a fad.

Well, kids often internalize and relive the patterns they see in their parents. Jack is paternalistic and makes decisions without input from Rebecca. Even in the pilot, he was the one who wanted to adopt Randal. Rebecca had 1) Just gone through labor, which saps your strength and doesn't leave you wanting to make decisions. 2) Just gone into distress during labor, needing medical intervention, which again does not leave you in a good state to make decisions. 3) Just had a child she was carrying DIE during labor, another overwhelming experience and a not a good time to make life changing decisions. Jack spends the episode saying we came in with three children and we are leaving with three children and springs the abandoned Randal on her and tells her they should adopt him. So I had a few qualms right there. Changing his job, even though it was to make more money for the family, without discussing it with Rebecca is another instance of Jack making unilateral decisions. Jack is a great father and, thus far, a good husband, although there have been some cracks in the good husband part with his drinking and showing interest in the female co-worker. I'm not saying he's a bad guy. But all the kids saw a model of a "take charge" father who made decisions, often without Rebecca's input. So Randal internalizes that view of being a husband and re-enacts it with his family. Kate finds a guy who is a "take charge" guy who makes decisions and pushes them on her and she doesn't have a model of how to push back, other than pulling away entirely. I think the family dynamics make a lot of sense. I also think we have not seen the last of Olivia. She finds out that (as I think she sees her) "mousey little Sloane" has taken HER role and HER man. So she comes back to get back her possessions. The Director has already indicated he'd like her back. She confronts Kevin in front of Sloane, making sure Sloane knows she has a (much better looking, sexier, more interesting) rival. Kevin makes it all worse by making it clear that he still kind of wants Olivia. Why should she go away? This is just the first foray into a larger battle. She's rocked Sloane. If Sloane gets thrown off, then Olivia can step up and take back HER part. Then she can move on to taking back HER Kevin. The fact that she will probably dump him once she has him again is only secondary. She's marking her territory. Plus she is a "complicated" "edgy" character. I'm sure she's here for the long haul. ETA: About the Diet controversy. When I go to a restaurant I say I want a diet "whatever you have", so asking for a diet doesn't have to mean a diet Coke. There was Tab. There was Fresca. There was diet Pepsi and Diet Rite. Rebecca's mother was just letting them know to bring them something diet. She didn't care if her daughter wanted it or not.

Property Brothers - General Discussion

So we never saw the entrance to Drew's place at all. I wonder why. Is it possible they didn't finish it in time? Or maybe the cameras weren't allowed on that side (which seems unlikely). Plus I only remember seeing 3 sides of the quad fireplace. Did I miss one? Or did they maybe plaster over it and just pretend they didn't? -
Well this just got interesting HGTV's Flip or Flop Stars Tarek and Christina El Moussa Separate "

From TVLine Season 11 will be an All Star cast ♦ Gage Hubbard (Season 1) Los Angeles ♦ Tyler Green (Season 6) Litchfield, Conn. ♦ Cat Paschen (Season 6) Los Angeles ♦ Niko Gonzalez (Season 6) Los Angeles ♦ Rachael Wagner (Season 7) Los Angeles ♦ Cig Neutron (Season 7) Los Angeles ♦ George Troester (Season 7) Los Angeles ♦ Keaghlan Ashley (Season 7) Los Angeles ♦ Stella Sensel (Season 7) New York ♦ Adam Milicevic (Season 8) Los Angeles ♦ Emily Serpico (Season 8) Orlando, Fla. ♦ Logan Long (Season 8) Salt Lake City ♦ Evan Hedges (Season 9) Boulder, Co. ♦ Ben Ploughman (Season 9) Los Angeles ♦ Jasmine Ringo (Season 9) Las Vegas ♦ Melissa Ebbe (Season 10) Milwaukee I recognize some of these right off the bat, Gage, Tyler, Cig Emily. The others I'll have to re-look at. Anyway, it should be an interesting season. I hope they have good challenges.

Yay, it was Marita for the win. I'm glad because I was not up for another round of "make Dom happen". I would have preferred Michelle, but at least it's not Dom.
-
Liz's, apparently dead, mother's name is Katarina. Coincidence? Yes or No? I do think Mr. Kaplan was part of the baby switch so that Tom and Lizzie could be reunited.

I like Tyler and Korey and I like Sherry and Cole I don't hate Matt and Dana. I like T&K for reasons stated above, they ran a good race, they are nice to each other and they aren't rude to people in the countries they visit. I admire Sherry's stick to it attitude. I know that the Taj Mahal was a mausoleum. I know what a minaret is. I also know that minarets are used to call Muslims to prayer and I was taught that India has a majority religion of Hindus. So I was a little thrown by that clue, because I was thinking of minarets in a different context. I would have gone to the Taj Mahal anyway, but it might have given me pause.

They brought back lots of people that I didn't need to see again. Why not Marty With a Party? She was fun and entertaining. They probably thought she's not young enough for the show, but I liked her. Dom should have gone home for swearing, although Penny is really off putting as well. I liked Brianna better than either of them. Matthew always annoyed me. I liked Chris and Michelle but really there's no one I really wanted to see again.

I do think Liz will return at some point. If she does, I don't think this is a plan on her part. I think the doctor was compromised by whoever wanted Lizzie. He faked her death on his own and will turn her over to whoever. Then when Meghan wants to come back she will make a daring break out attempt and reach a phone so she can call Red, who will come to save her. In the mean time, Tom will take off looking to kill Solomon on the new show. If that show is working and Blacklist is still around, Tom will be too embedded in whatever he's doing to be with Liz and the baby.

Interesting news from TVLine.

So I was watching this and realized that I just couldn't sit through the episode. I thought "I wonder if Previously TV reviews it, so I can find out what happens without having to actually watch?" It does and I'm happy. Now, whenever Alex decides SHE'S satisfied with who did it, I'll find out here without the pain of watching this tripe.

They have to use it so they have the right number of episodes this season. I'm sure ScyFy bought x number of episodes, and they had to budget in a save somewhere. That said, I think they are saving it for when one of the front runners, Rob, Mel, Melissa IMHO, tank a challenge. I liked Anna, but I would hate to have one of my faves go home because it was used on someone else. I do think Robert is overdue to go home.

S02.E09: What Did We Do?
Percysowner replied to Tara Ariano's topic in How To Get Away With Murder [V]
IIR, Asher actually says he wants to make a statement. The way it was shot it looked like he left Bonnie at the gas station and went to confess, but now we know he didn't. So making a statement may not be him wanting to confess to anything. There is still a lot of flash forwards we haven't seen yet. The thing is, Sinclair said that Tiffany suffered because of what Asher's father did and that Asher's father was a terrible person, so I'm thinking Asher didn't participate and maybe his father was covering for more than Asher being a drunk who let the rape happen on his watch. We don't know what Asher's mother knows or doesn't know about that night. She may know only what her husband told her. -
S02.E06: Two Birds, One Millstone
Percysowner replied to Tara Ariano's topic in How To Get Away With Murder [V]
The thing for me is Wes did "let her sleep with Eggs". She thought she was sleeping with Levi, a hot guy who she liked. Wes knew he was Eggs and didn't tell Michaela. He decided that the guy he had just met could be trusted to not sleep with Michaela simply beause Wes asked him nicely. There are things you warn people about. You warn someone who is helping you cover up a murder that she is dating someone related to the person you committed the murder for. You let her know that Levi may have reasons to get close to Michaela that have nothing to do with sexual attraction. I don't see what Michaela is doing as shifting responsibility. I see it as a statement of fact. Wes let her date someone he knew she would not date if she had all the facts. Frankly it would be the same even if she hadn't slept with him. The sex isn't the issue, letting Michaela be in a situation without all the relevant facts is. -
S27.E06: My Tongue Doesn't Even Twist That Way
Percysowner replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Amazing Race
He doesn't bother me that much either. He's not my favorite, but he's not driving me away, unlike Brenchel who made me ditch the show twice. It's unfortunate that the racers who stood out, the Dancers and the Cousins went out early. That left me with a lot of teams who blended together i.e. two teams of girls that I couldn't tell apart easily, Justin who can grate at times, the Texans who I don't care for and Denise and James (like him have problems with her). I should remember the Paparazzi couple, but they kind of blend into couples who squabble, which I hate. ChacAttack is low key enough that I kind of forget they are there. -
One big difference is that Asher actually seems guilt ridden about whatever he did. He was willing to throw Annalise under the bus, but only when he thought she was guilty. Once he knew she was innocent, he wanted to turn in the person he believes killed Sam. And I did buy that part of it is that since the past he tried to outrun caught up with him, that he doesn't want that to happen to Bonnie. He thinks she has a decent self defense claim. After all, he's seen Annalise get guilty people off before, so why wouldn't she get Bonnie off for killing a man who was trying to rape her? I'm also willing to wait until I know what Asher did. He certainly reacts badly to murder, if his reaction to whatever happened at the kids house is anything to go by. He's traumatized and in shock. The others are all covering their behinds. I don't think Michaela blamed him irrationally for letting her sleep with Eggs911. Wes should have told her who Levi was. Yeah he warned Levi off, but Levi ignored him and he STILL didn't warn Michaela. I'm starting to think that Aiden being gay wasn't Michaela's first "my boyfriend is gay" rodeo. Her jumping to the Aiden is gay after he admits to experimenting as a kid, seemed a bit premature. But jumping to the conclusion that Wes and Levi were in a relationship feels like she has a type and that type is closeted.
