  1. To be fair every show does just about the same exact thing as The Fosters have done with these serious issues they have taken on. Each show has 45 minutes not including commercials to convey a message to there audience and usually at the end of the show which has happened with many of these serious issue shows a disclaimer comes up with a hotline number for people who need further help to contact if need be. You have to realize this is a television show and NOT reality. It gives the audience 45 minutes 1 day a week and the main focus of the Producers of the show is to keep getting the audience to come back each week. The show must be doing something right because it has been doing just that for 5 seasons now and has a pretty huge audience.
  2. Mike cares for everybody it seems with the exception of maybe Callie and him being fed up with her and all the shit she was doing. Hell I love the Callie character, but I was about to crawl into the television at times and strangle that girl many times. Mike just seems to want to help people so much and it is the same with Ana. I really think he saw this addict at first and wanted to help that, then the wanted to help with the baby, now he wants to take it the whole way and marry her. I don't even know if he is really that attracted to her that much. I am pretty sure the whole Mike and Ana relationship/Marriage if it does go through will not last that long.
  3. You would think Mike would have stayed far away from Ana first because of all she did to Mariana and Jesus and then he is also early in his sobriety as well to be getting involved with an addict as well. It shows that even the adults in this show think with something other than their brain when it comes to hooking up.
  4. I still absolutely love the show. Jude has aged several years for sure and the change of actors from Jake T. Austin to Noah Centineo in height was a huge growth spurt of a semester at boarding school. The problem is though if they kept the show a normal run of the mill family then no one would watch it and we wouldn't be here talking about it. So in a sense it has to be out there. I do however think they have hit on some great points with how the Foster Care system is flawed in many ways as well as the justice system. They have also focused on guns in schools, how hard it is to be a single parent, drugs, prostitution, suicide, and many other touchy subjects.
  5. Does anyone here use Bath Bombs from Lush?I find them to be fantastic and very relaxing.
  6. Something definitely isn't right with the brain when someone is in the midst of committing the act of murder. There is also different sorts of murder in my opinion. Those who murder in a fit of rage on impulse through no control of their anger or those who just kill and have no remorse at all for what they did. Usually those who act out in a fit of rage will later have time to process what they did and see that it was an awful act. The others no matter what they don't see what they did as anything wrong. Most people would say the latter would be more inclined to be Mentally Ill, but maybe not in all cases I guess. Either way something in these peoples brain snaps and they do something awful.
  7. Looks like it's a Red Merlot type of evening.
  8. Tonight I'll be having Baked Chicken with Green Beans and Roasted Potatoes.
  9. So some of you may have read in my other posts I am starting my first year of teaching Kindergarten in a few weeks. Well today I had the opportunity to meet my mentor for some coffee and a get together this afternoon. I just have to say if all of my co-workers are going to be like her I am really going to love it in my new job. She has been a Elementary teacher for 25 years and a Kindergarten teacher for 20 of those years so she does have quite a bit of experience to help me along in my new journey. She was in her upper 40's, but really it was like talking to someone my age. She was so much fun. The weirdest thing is she had a daughter who just recently turned 23 and that is older than me which we got a good laugh about. Her 23 year old is her oldest daughter and she also has a 17 year old daughter and a 14 year old son. We did talk a lot about my goals for the year and her main point to me was to keep the fun in it. She said with this age group I will have the willingness to learn so just keep it fresh and fun for both myself and them and the year will be great. Right there was great advice because I was going into this pretty damn nervous and just talking to her I feel somewhat more relaxed already. It was a good start to what I believe is going to be a great first year of teaching. Next up for me is going to the new hire orientation at the end of the month and then the fun will begin.
  10. Shatter Me- Lindsey Stirling with Lzzy Hale
  11. She is fantastic. One of my favorites.
  12. Lindsey Stirling featuring Andrew McMahon from Pete's Dragon- Something Wild
  13. This is the 5th Season so I suppose they are doing each season as a 6 month period of time. It does seem a bit ridiculous with all the shit that has gone on in all of their lives.
  14. The age really don't bother me much as Gabe doesn't seem like he is very mature at all and I actually think Cortney is only 21 but she has a kid and has to grow up quick even though she lets her son pretty much run wild. Maybe Gabe will be a decent match for her,but I hope they won't be living in Stef and Lena's garage. I like Brandon with Grace, but from what David Lambert said in an interview he said look forward to seeing Brandon in a relationship with someone we have seen before. All I can say it better not be Callie. :)
  15. I know exactly what you mean. I was completely surprised when Gabe told Stef and Lena that Jesus was not taking his Meds. I would have been so made if he would have kept that a secret from them. At least he acted like an adult in that moment.
  16. Tonight I made a bacon cheese burger with some fries.
  17. @Chewy101 Hmm, I can't answer why Mike would have said that to Stef about Brandon. I don't remember that happening. I would think Mike would have more issues with how Jesus and Mariana felt or even AJ who he wanted to adopt and live with him. I agree both Stef and Lena should be extremely overwhelmed with all the shit that has gone on with their 5 kids. Hell just one of the kids have done more shit in less than a year than most parents would have to deal with in a lifetime. I guess that is why the show is so interesting because the kids sure aren't boring.
  18. You are correct he slept with Danni when he was drunk which got Danni in hot water. I am pretty sure he never slept with Ana. Both sleeping with your step mother and sister are weird even though technically when he and Callie hooked up she was still not yet adopted and they both thought that was going to fall through. I would have hoped if they would have thought even if there was even 1% of a chance, which technically it was they wouldn't have had sex.
  19. I agree they are very inconsistent with parenting. This is coming from someone who have never been a parent, but have watched a my parents raise two daughters until there untimely deaths in an auto accident and we certainly weren't angels especially as Teens even though I had my parents only till I was 17. My older sister and I always knew what to expect concerning discipline when we did something wrong. It did not differ from parent to parent or from child to child. Of course the punishment given was according to the severity of what we did, but that is what we expected. It was consistent though as it should have been. Once my parents passed my older sister who was only 3 years older than me somehow took over that responsibility over me to keep us together as we didn't want to go to my Grand Ma's because my Grand Pa was ill. So you would think a 17 year old would become worse, not actually I also grew up which made it easier on my sister. The point of all of this though is there should be some consistency. Lena and Stef have been talking about discussing how to discipline and make decisions together for several Seasons, but they continue to neglect to do it. They go off and make a decision on there own which always leads to strife between them and then the kids as well. It is a total disaster.
  20. @Chewy101 I think you are correct with Lena being tempted to get involved with Tess. I also believe Stef's drinking excessively is going to have something to do with pushing Lena farther away from Stef and maybe confiding in Tess the road. They aren't bringing up the drinking thing in little spurts for no reason. The thing is Jesus has exhibited that sort of outburst of destructed behavior before and in that scene he was getting agitated. So Lena's response to him and yelling at him was appropriate. She could have reacted her usual way and tried to comfort him and gotten hit in the face by a blunt object. I also think comparing what Callie has done to what Mariana has done is like comparing apples to oranges. Sure they are both fruits, but they are both so different. Many things that Callie has done have been illegal and many things Mariana has done has been really stupid judgment things on her part. Forging a parents signature or even taking ADHD pills is not the same as Breaking and Entering A Home or getting involved with a Pimp and Prostitution. I am not saying these things Mariana has done she shouldn't have consequences, but to get the same level of discipline as especially Callie, I just don't see it. To me by far Callie has done the worst out of all the children followed by probably Brandon and Jude only because they have done something illegal. Brandon being taking an SAT Test for someone else and Jude smoking Pot. Jesus and Mariana although they are definitely not the Golden Children at all and pretty much lie and keep secrets as far as I can remember haven't done anything illegal that could have gotten them arrested with the exception of the most recent silly accusation of Stef and Lena saying they would arrest Jesus for dropping out of school. Like I said in my other post Stef and Lena need to find a middle ground on disciplining ALL the kids. Right now it may need to be a little more hard love because it seems to have gotten out of control, I don't know but they need to finally work together in disciplining which they have been saying they would do for several Seasons now. As for your comment concerning the events happening too close together, especially the hopping from one relationship to another, you are absolutely correct.
  21. Well to be honest, all the kids do a lot of stupid things. Sure Mariana, Callie, Brandon, and Jude may be decent to intelligent in school, but they sure have done there share of dumb things. Jesus has as well, but nothing compared to the stupid decisions Callie has made. The whole arrest Jesus comment for dropping out of school was overboard, but there have also been many times where they should have come down harder on Jesus and they didn't. I agree Stef and Lena should be more consistent on how they handle issues. I think some of the problems here are that Stef is an Officer and is usually more the hard ass when it comes to discipline while Lena is more laid back. I know they have both tried over and over again to make decisions together, but it seems like it doesn't occur many times still. They need to find a middle road on discipline and stick with it with all the kids, even Brandon who is 18 now.
  22. Been reading your topic here and this is great news. I'm really happy for you.
  23. I am new here so I never saw the Current Events Forum, but I think I know exactly why it was probably eliminated. Most likely for the same shit that goes on all over other Social Media sites. That is the sad thing about Current Events, Politics, Religion, and other topics that can be judgmental in any way. You can only seem to have constructive conversations with like-minded people as you stated above. People are welcomed to disagree for sure and there is nothing wrong with that at all, but especially on forums such as these and other Social Media types people seem to feel entitled to start attacking the other person personally and that is where it gets totally wrong.
  24. Never been to Kane's, but if I am ever north of Boston I will definitely look them up.
