Will she blame the good book for her actions? I agree with all that the shoot out was terrible, what made it more stupid was they all stopped because Cordova said so.

Reade's undercover name was Joe Epstein and the wedding planner fell for it! Avery's line "this is stupid" must have been a message from the writers about this plot. I wonder if Meg is one the assassins to appear next week.

If this entire season (if they make it that long) about who will be the new captain then this is a waste of time. Three episodes in, it's obvious Frankel favors Jack and she could have easily appointed him and reject Pruitt's recommendation based on policy. I am starting to think Otis is not coming back and he and Lily will move to the place (I forget) Lily mentioned a few episodes back. Cordova's little speech to Matt about being the "real deal" was funny. So what juicy action did Gabby and Cordova get into that needs to be told to Matt now that he staying for a while? Anthony Ferraris had a line tonight! This would have been a perfect time to let Connie tell the ladies their cooking is terrible and to never come back! Why is Boden concerned about missing action if he is promoted? Grissom proved that wrong by jumping in the rescue with Kelly.

Black Lightning should have sent a message and turn the woman's power off permanently after the second object missed! I am more intrigued for a Lala and Tobais confrontation than anything else right now. After Gambi mentioned to find spotter, I thought it had to be the assistant principal. Annisa and BL were a good team this episode but the damage Jennifer and BL bring could be epic!

Am I going to be lost with Ben's story? A small nitpick: the girl that was stuck between narrow alley, they didn't show the details of her rescue. Couldn't tell what the two firefighters were doing to get her out. Once again, Hazmat is 5 minute away. So the JJ's smoke detector has been going off (I assume for days). Why didn't the other neighbor's detectors go off too or did they ignored it? Miller should have warned the two before having debris fall on them.

I too would like to know how Holly's car ended up in the position in the parking lot. They should have spent an hour on that investigation. JK The chief should have known better than to tell Casey "after this it's a police matter". Chief forgot Dawson has rubbed off on this man. How does Casey and Holly hold a conversation in that smoke and not cough once? I liked Joe Cruz this episode. Showed to be a good friend to Otis (can call him Brian yet). The way the writers treat Otis, I was surprised they didn't have Lily break up with him after the operation. Stella is lucky to not have been shot and her demeanor didn't change after near death experience. Casey still has his construction business? When was his last job? Has the guy with the hat backwards (on Rescue Squad) ever spoken? Cap gets all the lines from that group.

I'll watch but the plot of Adam Strange going back in time to tell Seg about pending doom, Superman, Earth/Detroit and give him the sun stone cheapens this story. I'd rather see Seg learn what is to come on his own or from his parents.

Early in the episode, Black Lightning was giving Henderson grief for the crooked cop destroying evidence (the lightning gun) to clear him for Lady Eve's murder but at the end of the episode he and Annisa blow up the building with all the Green light evidence for the police. Now the bad guys have special guns to kill BL. Will he swallow his pride and ask Gambi to reinforce his suit?

Agent Ressler's foot chasing skill is atrocious! First, he loses the guy in the streets after a brief chase and second, he was the first to go after Dr. Fulton and Liz caught up to her first after giving him a 30 second head start.

I felt really sorry and nervous for Crawford "joking" with Roman about poisoning his drink. Don't mess with this man in any way! The look and laugh from Roman was telling (I thought he was going to stab him with a pen). The report states: Avery's father killed himself. Now his body is going to wash up with bullet holes in it to contradict the report. Why would the killer bring this back?

After Gabby's triumphant "undercover" work, the chief decided to not pressure his ace with more work for the day. Why hasn't the US Forest Service replaced Smokey the Bear with Gabby for their "forest fire prevention" campaign?

The characters from Chicago PD took away valuable screen time from Dawson and for this, I am grateful! Where was the wide shot of Cruz standing outside car crying watching Sylvie and Antonio??!!!!!!!!!! It was odd to hear the Chief admit to not having much arson experience as Severide. Too bad for Zach but at least he didn't get lead along like a fool and ended it!

The photographer getting hit by the car was the best part of the episode. I think he was still snapping pictures while he was flying in the air. Usually, cars slow down around accidents; I guess there are no rubberneckers in Chicago. Casey is too nice, he let the guy leave (with his camera) without getting a beating. I felt bad for Otis. Once Lily mentioned moving away, I said the writers got him again. Surprised to see Sylvie got the brave moment instead of Dawson. Progress!

The opening scene was a waste. The police are gathering from a tip to take down Black Lightning. The captain gives orders to keep their heads on a swivel and later we see a police cruiser pass BL as he stands in the alley (begging to be cuffed). Joe Toledo is bad at giving directions and not killing BL when he had the chance. Off topic - Whenever I see a BMW or Mercedes on a show, the ornament/logo is removed from the front (this was from the van Gambi was driving). What's the purpose of this? With or without it, we know the make the vehicle.

Tobias should punish Joe Toledo for not taking the opportunity to kill Black Lightning or get his true identity.
