  1. I just checked the Decades website for where to watch and the entry for New York, NY (mine) is now “coming soon” because it’s being replaced by StartTV. This is true for all of the CBS owned and operated stations. I guess Decades will show up eventually on another over the air sub channel. I don’t get why CBS couldn’t just put StartTV on another channel. The changeover is this weekend.
  2. Re: where we think they’re going with Pack and Jess, I agree we don’t need that. I thought this was going to be watching them work together to defeat Declan and all we’re seeing so far is them trapped in a cage trying to fix Jess and Todd’s problem. While Steve was with Declan we see him look at the radio in the corner - he couldn’t figure out a way to knock the guy out and call for help? If it was Owen instead would the ability to play chess have even mattered? Overall I hope next week’s episode is better than this.
  3. If there was another season that might have been the story for the opening episodes! j/k
  4. I watched most of the first part and was intrigued by the short segment that talked about the 60s documentary that showed the royal family at home in a relaxed setting. They looked like regular people to me, ironically the reason why the Queen doesn’t want it shown in its entirety again. The segment about Charles and Diana’s “courtship” where one of the commentators made a remark about Charles’ possible misinterpretation of Prince Phillip’s comments about marrying Diana (taken as meaning you need to marry her or something to that effect) was interesting. I guess if he moved on instead she would have been a footnote and he would have married someone else and/or marry Camilla anyway eventually. I caught a bit of last night’s segment but wasn’t interested in it much because it looked too much of a rehash of the past few years and I’ve seen that to death. Nothing new there.
  5. No Chet yet ... wasn’t Martha supposed to find him? I think he’ll turn up in the last episode or two. Karen is awesome and Pack is an idiot.
  6. @chessiegal, Both of the shows you mention are on Decades each morning during the week.
  7. Yes, especially when some of these newer shows are shown on other channels already.
  8. After I heard that I’m wondering how much time has passed for them. I guess it’s not long enough for them to be given up for dead. Could you image, you sent an email to a coworker who is in vacation then they respond with “help, my plane crashed and I’m on this rich guy’s island”? Or something to that effect.
  9. I didn’t realize Chet was missing until the end either. I’m wondering if he knows what’s up and is able to save everyone in the end. I’m just wondering, if they’re able to turn the tables on this guy Declan and eliminate him, would they all stay on the island or would they go back to their lives? Most of them (except Jessica and Florence) looked like they really liked it there.
  10. I think the guy Steve found chained up in the boiler room was Luther and yes he’s the one who blew up on the beach. When the episode was over I was hoping they’d show another one right after it even though I was certain there was only one episode. Looking forward to next week.
  11. This is a fun show. Last night’s episode went by quickly! Loved the bit with the land mine and Danny’s “knowledge” about how to diffuse it ... what wire to cut, and they’re all the same color?!?!?
  12. If you have an iPad/iPhone there is an app PlutoTV that has a channel for MS3TK that shows episodes all the time.
  13. @ratgirlagogo, Comet TV is available via their website for streaming for free. http://www.comettv.com
  14. @selkie, I like Christian’s and Bobke’s commentary as well. IIRC, during the Tour of California, Christian seemed to offer more than during the Tour de France, or maybe I just tuned in during the times when he was talking more. I don’t watch NBC SN for much other than the Tour de France and the Tour of California so I guess I may be missing a bunch of the other races.
  15. It looks like per the article that Decades is still picking up affiliates even though many CBS O&O are airing Start TV. Now I’m wondering if they’ll shop it to another channel around here in the NY/NJ area. My preference is for a channel with a wide variety of programming from over the years vs what this new channel offers - programming that’s been on other channels within the past number of years. I enjoyed the binges that Decades offered, I will miss them.
  16. The Vuelta a Espana was broadcasted on one of the NBC subchannels a number of years back (like the Giro) until the channel became cable only (and went to a different tier on my service) - does that channel exist anymore? I can’t find anything on the NBC site other than NBC SN. I was interested in both of the other races at one time but found the commentators underwhelming. They were no Phil and Paul!
  17. Decades is being replaced in September by StartTV, which will air dramas. Checking their website it seems like it’s another Lifetime or Oxygen channel. I like Decades, I’ll probably pass on this new channel. http://www.starttv.com
  18. I think they edited the credits and are using the opening credits from the earlier season. I don’t know why.
  19. I saw that segment too and enjoy seeing that kind of stuff. There’s a lot going on behind the scenes we don’t see and they make it all come out smoothly. It’s amazing with all the trucks, cables, etc. that they move from town to town for each stage. The past 3 weeks went so quickly I can’t believe it’s all over until next year!
  20. I hope Decades shows My Three Sons again sometime. My observation from watching other shows there that have appeared on other channels (The Twilight Zone for example) their cuts are not as severe as MeTV.
  21. SanDiegoInExile, Good points made. About the cuts made by MeTV, some of them are sloppy. One example, the episode where Katie gets a job as a singer at the local coffeehouse. We see her there in an opening scene then we go to where she gets home and explains how she messed up. Considering Tina Cole is a singer, I’d figure we should have actually seen the audition. I found the episode on YouTube (which has been deleted again unfortunately) and that broadcast showed the scenes where she sang.
  22. I’ve been using the closed captioning on my TV for the past few months and it’s not always accurate anyway. I’m not talking about My Three Sons specifically but sometimes it shows up as gibberish! I’m wondering if all the Dodie episodes were as a result of trying to keep the show’s budget in line. There are episodes where we see some of the other characters in only one scene with maybe a line or two or not at all.
  23. Keeping Katie around also kept the triplets around, giving the scriptwriters more episode possibilities as well.
  24. I agree re: too many Dodie episodes. That Alfred kid was pretty creepy too with coming into the house and going to her room while she was sleeping. I suspected that was going to be the outcome after he wasn’t found outside the house. How convenient that no one in the Douglas household checked the front door before going to bed that evening too. Looking ahead it appears we’re getting a couple of Barbara episodes so there’s a break from Dodie (I hope). It’s interesting that at the end of the series that a lot of the episodes are focusing on the female cast members and the sons are not as prominently featured despite the series name.
  25. Just saw the commercial announcing the date: August 7!
