  1. Regarding the Rocky Mountain episode, the scenery is great to look at but it’s way too cold to do a challenge there. I knew from the amount of complaining the 1st woman did about the cold and how it was only day 2 or 3 by the half hour mark she’d be gone soon. The 2nd one sounded more optimistic so I was surprised she tapped early too. Going back to the Alaska challenge with Laura and Steven was that one any harder that this one or were they better suited for this than who we saw here. Mushrooms are tricky, I’m not surprised the guy (don’t remember his name) got sick. They’re pretty too look at but most times it seems like if you eat any of them you’ll get sick. Better to stick to the ones in the grocery store. I guess If it wasn’t for the mushroom poisoning that guy had a good chance of making it the 14 days.
  2. I remembered a few of them myself but the others, nothing and I’ve watched the show almost from the beginning. They’re also all first XL timers too, thankfully. I’m tired of seeing the same ones again who just tap out again. Seems like the new banishment thing will be interesting with the people who didn’t finish theIr 21 day challenge or will they quit again. Yeah, the “All Star” tag irks me when the person couldn’t even complete the initial challenge. It’s more like a “who’s available / what mix of people can we get that will create enough drama for ratings” group.
  3. I think the removal of My Three Sons is temporary just for May, you know, the “Month of MAYberry”, lol. Why they bumped My Three Sons, who knows but I had been tuning in lately to see episodes I have never seen before. Anyway, I have similar sentiments toward The Andy Griffith Show too, I just wish MeTV had replaced another show on their schedule like one that gets a lot of airplay somewhere else. My Three Sons isn’t shown much anywhere else these days. A bit off topic here but I see they’re adding Happy Days in June.
  4. The first three episodes are available on Apple Podcasts. I’ll be checking them out later today.
  5. I agree, someone who can’t start a fire for example despite the resources available then it’s hindering their ability to stay warm, cook their food, boil water etc. does deserve a lowering of their PSR. However if the odds are against them, like the temperature drop you mention I’d say they did their best but don’t deserve to have their PSR lowered.
  6. I feel the same way. My current job’s location pretty much forces me to get on mass transit to get there - the distance plus the expensive parking rates force this - that I am worried that when officials deem it “safe” to open things up again the danger of getting coronavirus will still be there.
  7. My experience has been pretty good so far. The team I’m on is in multiple locations so I’d be dealing with them over the phone anyway regardless of working from home or being in the office. We have daily status calls so we’re always in touch. I had a prior job where I was working from home 4 out of 5 days so this is routine for me. I’m expecting this to go on into May as well.
  8. I’m on a team with people here in the US and some in Manila. We’ve been working on this project for the past several months and are set to expand the team to ramp up for more work. We’re all working from home at this point but the new team members are in India and since they’re shut down it’ll be a challenge getting them going. There’s been no layoff or transition of work to India here, it’s just where management decided to hire at this point in time. It just happened to coincide with COVID-19. All I can say at this point I’m happy to work at a company where when it was vital to quarantine ourselves their infrastructure had the capacity to have everyone work from home. I’ve read on other boards where some larger companies are telling their employees either one week in, one week out or no to work from home supposedly because they didn’t invest in the infrastructure to have so many people accessing their network remotely.
  9. I’m certain it was a new episode. This was one of the better episodes of one of the participants repeatedly stating how they’re doing this for so and so. I imagine Lisa’s deceased friend who she was doing it for was there in spirit rooting her on. That segment with the eggs was hard to watch - how do you know if the egg in those situations is good until you break it open? At the end Lisa’s seemed pretty happy about accomplishing her goal. I wonder if we'll see her again.
  10. Yeah, while watching that episode initially I thought it was a cop out to not pursue it further. Janeway was hell bent on studying the disease but pretty much telling Voyager leave and don’t come back for us - it seemed her and Chakotay would have done pretty well for themselves if left on their own for good. In the end I agree it would have made more sense to have a Janeway/Chakotay pairing at the end instead of the all of a sudden romance between Chakotay and Seven. I would have also like to have seen how the Maquis on Voyager fared once the crew disembarked on Earth, Janeway surely would have gone to bat for them to help them.
  11. Nice to know. Verizon hasn’t picked it up yet. I wish they would.
  12. I was hoping for a continuation of what we saw last week instead we got the Doctor Who version of the National Geographic cover story from a few months ago. I also got a vibe of the Hitchcock movie “The Birds” when they were running from the lab to the Tardis. Unless I missed it everyone in the episode is touching potentially deadly stuff and not wearing anything to protect themselves.
  13. I was thinking the same thing. Enjoyed the episode and looking forward to more. Best of the season so far IMO. I’m also wondering if the other Doctor is from alternate timeline / world but how did she get here?
  14. I hope not. I’d like to see Manu again however given why she tapped out during the last XL the timing may not be good for her.
  15. I’m not a Lacy fan from her last appearance on XL (where she quit too) but I watched anyway since she wouldn’t have anyone to not get along with. So first she’s glad she doesn’t have someone there with her then it turns into how hard all of this is and can’t stick it out for 3 more days? I hope we don’t see her again. Going back to Gary’s episode, I didn’t care for him during his XL challenge but he redeemed himself in the 2 parter with Matt and the inexperienced partners. I liked that he adopted that turtle he found on his solo challenge. He seems really passionate about his beliefs regarding survival.
  16. There were characters in Ellison’s version that didn’t behave like they did as already established in the series. Too much time was spent setting up this other story. He apparently didn’t care or didn’t watch the series closely. I think at the time he just sold the story and there was no creative control arrangement associated with it. I 100% agree with you, to keep whining on about it years later is annoying and he should have just moved on to writing his next story.
  17. @chitowngirl do you have Verizon FIOS available where you live? TCM is available through multiple packages with them: https://www.verizon.com/info/channel-lineup/ I subscribe to the Preferred tier through FIOS (switched to them from Comcast almost 2 years ago when Verizon was retiring the copper lines in my area) and while Verizon has moved a couple of channels to other tiers since, they don’t seem to do it as often as Verizon. While a Comcast subscriber I lost a couple of channels that I’d watch once in a while to higher tiers so I know what a frustrating experience this is.
  18. Checking the TV schedule the first episode is tonight. Seeing who it is I’m not impressed however I may tune in just to see how well he does. I’d be surprised if we see either Jeff or Laura although I guess whoever can participate depends on their availability and interest. I hope there’s no one that’s tapped out multiple times.
  19. I caught the re air this morning and while I enjoyed it overall I couldn’t understand why she wanted to stay with him either - towards the end I kept yelling at the TV “let him go!” and I usually don’t do that.
  20. That whole story arc with Fergus makes me cringe. I agree @floridamom they were really grasping at straws for a season premiere storyline to bring in a character that no one has seen since a one off appearance in the 4th season. The lookalike gag got old pretty fast too. Then Uncle Charlie finds Fergus someone pretty fast, it might have made for a more interesting storyline if say both Barbara and Katie each knew someone they thought was suitable for Fergus and it became a friendly competition. Then the episode today when Steve’s left alone with the triplets then had to go out and eventually loses them - Barbara had to fill in for someone volunteering, Charlie had something else to do and the rest of the family went to a fair. Really, couldn’t the triplets go to the fair too? They seemed to be into everything and pretty destructive which also gets pretty old fast.
  21. I’ve generated virtual credit card numbers from my credit card that offers it. That virtual number has a card expiration date that is before the next billing period.
  22. The Bob Newhart Show (from the 70s) was filmed. If memory serves, Newhart (80s) was on tape the first season and film the rest of the run. Wikipedia may have what you’re looking for. About film vs videotape, I generally agree with you about the older shows on film but I’ll make a further distinction, it seems a lot of the ones that look better are also in black and white. Then sometimes there’s a remastering like what was done with the Twilight Zone a few years ago. I’ll see an episode on TV every once in a while and the quality is like it was just filmed.
