  1. I like Ana but she's friends with some real a-hole guys. Marc Anthony, George Lopez. Makes me kind of side eye her.
  2. Well, I guess we all know which book will be at the top of Sunny's summer reading picks... I don't care who you are, using someone else's wedding to announce your big news is just tacky. My brother's wedding was schedule for right around the time we were planning on announcing my third pregnancy, so I called him a month before and asked if he'd be fine with my husband and I announcing it to the extended family the day after the wedding because I didn't want to steal his thunder like an a-hole. He was fine with that plan, and then covid hit like a week later, cancelling both his wedding and our in person announcement.
  3. Am I the only one who was disturbed by the story Joy told today about her family today? Her father hits her for getting the wrong soda so her mother tries to push him out a window? There is so much trauma in that sentence, I don't even know where to begin. Poor Joy!
  4. I get that Whoopi is disappointed that Till didn't get any nominations (though the only category it was being talked about in was Best Actress, so she shouldn't be that surprised) but it was so sour grapes that they didn't even discuss the Oscar nominees. This was an amazing year in movies and the first time in a long time that I can remember the Oscars having a list of Best Pictures nominees that was so interesting and diverse (blockbusters, indies, foreign films, bio pics, etc) and the fact that they basically just skipped over it (to go over whatever new nonsense Trump is up to, no less), is just ridiculous.
  5. I adore the name Clover. Couldn't use it as husband didn't care for it (though I feel that if one of our daughters had been born around St. Patrick's Day, I could have convinced him), so I'm happy to see it get some real world use. I like Jade too, though paired with Clover, the name's a bit...green. Still, it's better than some of the nonsense names celebrities give their kids these days so yay for that and congrats to Megan.
  6. This bothered me the entire segment. He's not her husband. They were never married. From everything I've read over the years, he wanted to get married but she didn't. So, he shouldn't have cheated but it's not like she was giving him full commitment either. Also, they have two kids together and it was pretty irresponsible of the panel not to acknowledge that and how all this "revenge" Shakira is getting is ultimately just going to hurt them.
  7. I actually like the name Liberty, it just seemed too on the nose for Megan. My guess for baby #2 is Dove. Seems like it'd be Megan's style and it pairs well with Liberty/Libby. Of course, now that I've written that, watch her go totally off script and name the baby something along the lines of Kayla.
  8. I believe they're supposed to be very intense and hot-tempered. I had a friend in high school who was a Scorpio and whenever she got in a mood or was over the top about something, she'd claim it was because she was a Scorpio. I hate when couples are written so poorly. Why have Angela and Iceman (can't remember the character's name right now so I'm going with his X-Men character...who might actually have been played by his twin brother. , now that I think about it. Never sure with those two) never discussed how many kids they want or how far apart they'd like the spacing? And what was with the awkward declaration that Chen made about how she wasn't planning on sleeping with Bradford right away? I mean, we're most of us assuming that they weren't just going to jump into bed together? Don't know why they had to write dialogue about that. Overall, I just found this episode boring and started doing housework in the middle of it.
  9. I thought the tribute was nice but Lisa Ling (who I love) commenting on how they were all like Barbara Walters' children because she never had any, then Whoopi and Joy having to correct her after the commercial break, was peak awkward tv.
  10. No Denise? Then who invented the rip away pants???????? In all seriousness, I can see why they invented Denise and changed the level of Irene's involvement. They needed people for Steve and Nick to talk/vent to and without them, it'd just be Steve and Nick yelling at each other the entire time.
  11. Not sure how much of this series is actually factual (have the A&E docuseries about it queued up for after I finish) and how much is Hollywood embellishment but if the real people were even half as bad as the characters on screen, man, were Steve and Nick a$$holes! They had such a good business idea but are both so egotistical and petty that they get in their own way and just pick at each other for no reason.
  12. During the first season, I felt like young Dewey's storyline focused on family, middle Dewey's was about his romantic relationships and eldest Dewey on his career. I wish they'd stuck with that format instead of doing what they did in season 2. It's kinda weird that his wife came out of nowhere last season and I wish they'd introduced her in elder Dewey's storyline but then used middle Dewey to show them dating in college. It would have been a good way to keep the storylines for each version of Dewey focused and would have helped them to not overlap with each other.
  13. I think the problem with Ava is that they're using her too much this season. She's a character that's better in small doses.
  14. Bringing Sylvester back to life just so that he'd be conscious when they cut his head open was insanely cruel. That was a dark opening. Also, I found Grandma Icicle's switch from "Oh no, my husband's going to die of a heart attack!" to "I'll kill my husband if he doesn't do what I want" very abrupt. I feel they could have just had Grandpa Ice begging her to stop fighting and her yelling that she won't right before accidentally killing herself and it would have been more effective. Given the sudden cancellation, I think the episode was decent. I wish the show had been able to go for at least five seasons but at least we got the three that we did.
  15. Let's be real. The WNBA doesn't pull in anywhere near the amount the NBA does. From what I could find online, the WNBA makes about $60 million a year, whereas the NBA makes about $7.5 billion. If the WNBA was selling tickets, merch, etc like the NBA, then you could make a case for equal pay but when one brings in 125 times more revenue, they're not going to pay the same. In a perfect world scenario, yes, there'd be as much interest in female athletics as there is in male but for the majority of sports, that's just not the case.
  16. So I've been binging the last few episodes (the news of the cancellation made me too sad to watch it for awhile) and I figured Sylvester was really the Ultra-Humanite once he mentioned that the Ultra-Humanite had switched bodies a few times. I saw no point in mentioning that unless it was going to come in to play. Wasn't sure who was in the Ultra-Humanite body though. Initially I thought it was Sylvester and that the two had been brain-swapped while the Dragon King was still alive. Didn't guess that it was actually the Dragon King himself in there. This is my favorite show right now and I'm bummed that it's been cancelled! I was watching The Rookie the other day and thought, "How has this ridiculous show made it five seasons and Stargirl only got three?"
  17. Off topic but do you ever watch the show Home Economics? Kim Coles was on last week. She played the mother of one of the main characters and it weirded me out that she was old enough to play a grandmother. Anyway, I've also seen both Best Man Holiday and Living Single. Used to love Living Single back in the day (my favorite character was Maxine) and I liked Best Man Holiday (though I didn't think it was as good as The Best Man). You'd really have to watch The Best Man for the Best Man Holiday to make any sense. As unnecessary sequels go, it was decent. Instead of making a third film, they're doing a limited series that's releasing on Peacock later this month. I didn't care for the Holiday. I liked all the actors in it but wasn't a fan of any of the characters they played (And I'm beginning to feel that I watch too many movies/shows, since I've seen every one that's been discussed in this thread recently. In my defense, the majority of them came out when I was in high school or my twenties, when I had a lot of time to watch stuff).
  18. How is it possible that no one on that panel has watched The Office? You'd think at the very least they would have binged it during the pandemic. And yes, Michael Scott was not an Archie Bunker character. He was usually well intentioned but ignorant and clueless, desperately wanted to be liked and had delusions of being a comedian. He's almost the opposite of Archie Bunker, really. And I'm curious as to what Sunny actually watches, since she hasn't seen Blazing Saddles, The Office or Love Actually. I mean, I didn't care for Blazing Saddles or Love Actually and only liked the first few seasons of The Office, but I've seen all of them.
  19. Sunny really needs to stop talking about her kids' personal lives on the show. They're way too old for that (Though I too would be side-eyeing somebody that much older trying to date my kid. I just wouldn't talk about it on tv). Sarah is aware that she can send Christmas cards without a picture, right? Or do a photo card with pics you've taken throughout the year, instead of having a professional photo done. It's very easy to do a simple Christmas card without making it into a big, stressful production (which reminds me, I still need to send out ours. They're just sitting on the mantle right now, waiting to be addressed and mailed). I mean, I like Whoopi but I highly doubt anyone is going to make a film about her after she dies. Speaking of which, did they even mention that Kirstie Alley died?
  20. So Grey's daughter got kidnapped by two random men late at night and wasn't found until the next day and somehow she didn't get assaulted? Okay then. That entire storyline was just really weird. And I'm glad the guy Nolan and Juarez arrested died. What kind of asshole puts a baby in a box?
  21. Chris thinking he and Chen should buy a house together is just dumb. Is this because he almost got killed by a serial killer? Is he having some kind of mental break where he thinks buying a house with someone who he's never even discussed long term plans with is a good idea? And I feel bad for the actress that plays Chen. It must be frustrating having to play a character that went from being a fully functioning adult to a teenager with no self esteem.
  22. I find this interesting because in my experience it's been the opposite. Maybe the young toxic women just become old toxic women?
  23. So, when the snake came out of Connor and Tim killed it, was I the only one who thought for a second that it was actually Gar and that the blood curse (or whatever it is) had caused him to transform?
  24. The actor playing Denise's dad looked familiar to me but I couldn't remember what I knew him from. Looked it up and it's Gary Anthony Williams, Stevie's dad, Abe, from Malcom in the Middle. Dude has lost a ton of weight! Good for you, Gary! Also, I can't believe that Kim Coles is old enough to play Denise's mom! I used to watch Living Single when I was in middle school and high school and that's just crazy to me.
  25. I don't understand why any of the hosts would have their phones on them during the show. It's very unprofessional and what could they possibly need them for? They could have a PA answer their phones backstage if there was an emergency, otherwise, their calls and texts can wait.
