  1. This is what I was wondering. I'm hoping that her daughter is middle aged and that this wedding is her second and taking place at a courthouse. If her daughter is only in her mid-thirties and this is her first marriage and it's the fancy ceremony with the big reception, then that's pretty f-ed up of Sondra (Sandra?) to miss it.
  2. I don't know, something about Lydia makes me think that she's going to want a baby pretty soon, so if she gets pregnant, I could see them doing a special around that. Otherwise, yeah, I don't even know what they'd show.
  3. I think "Ava Maria" was played at some point during my wedding prior to me walking down the aisle. When some of the wedding party were walking out or something. We had a harpist and she gave us a list of songs to choose from and while I don't remember exactly what we picked, I do remember that "Ava Maria" was on the list. So I guess it's a somewhat common choice?
  4. I hated everyone's dress expect for Taylor's. Johnie's was okay, very beauty pageant but at least she wasn't in danger of flashing the audience, unlike the rest of the women. Lydia's dress from the side was insane and Stacy's dress kept seeming to hike higher and higher as the reunion went on. If I were going on something like this, I would wear a happening jumpsuit or dress pants. No way I'm going to sit through an hour plus worrying about my bits being exposed. And except for Milton, Taylor, Aaliyah and possibly Lydia, everyone just kinda sucked. All the men (save for Milton) were a-holes this season and the women were just sad. I can't even with the fact that both Stacy and Johnie made out with Izzy after the way he treated them. Have some freakin' self respect. Also, why was Tracy putting up with Izzy grabbing her leg multiple times during the reunion? Was this filmed before the last episode aired? Did she not see him say there was a reason she was still single at 33? Then there's Johnie crying over Chris. Please. I have no time for that. I did enjoy several of the faces that people were making while others were talking though, as well as Chris and Johnnie just straight up having their own private conversation while Tracy was speaking. Ugh, this season was just the worst. None of the couples were good and everyone was just overall awful.
  5. Yes! Stacy said that she wanted more time but did want to continue seeing Izzy, which, given that he'd just revealed the night before that he has serious financial problems, is perfectly reasonable. And what does Izzy do? Acts like a complete mitch and starts throwing around insults. Of course he didn't want to give her more time to figure out their relationship. He knew that if she had more time, she'd figure out how awful he is! Does he even have a job? Because his explanation for what he does for a living didn't sound very convincing. Stacy wasn't my favorite but Izzy was a complete tool. Milton and Lydia, guess we'll see. Curious to see how they're doing at the reunion. When they were at the altar and Milton hadn't answered yet, my husband's comment was, "Don't do it, my man. He's too young to recognize all the crazy in those eyes." LOL. Who knows? Maybe Mitton's chillness will even out Lydia's drama? I mean, probably not but we can hope. On to the reunion!
  6. Joy's went off either last year or the season before that. Really, there's no reason for them to have their phones with them at the table. If they're so worried about an emergency happening while they're filming, then have a PA on set with an emergency phone that their families can call. I mute my phone before going into the library, a movie theater, a beauty appointment, etc, so I feel that they can leave their phones in their dressing rooms for one hour a day.
  7. So a few things I'm going to need covered in the reunion: 1) What exactly is Izzy's financial situation? I need details and a timeline (would also like the same for Uche and Lydia's relationship). 2) Do Stacy and Lydia not own any full length tops? I get that crop tops are in right now but does that mean all their tops must be midriff baring? (And while we're on the subject of clothing, I need an explanation for JP's patriotic wardrobe. Is that how he always dresses or did he do that to stand out on the show?)
  8. I've got to admit, I found it hilarious that all the women disliked Uche so much that when he was going on about Lydia, they were all just giving him deadeye stares and when Stacy interrupts his tirade to snap at Johnnie, he just looked flummoxed. Then, when he tried to steer the conversation back to himself, all the women let it be known that they did not like him and were not here for his bs. LOL. Amazing. I thought Izzy's mom really wasn't having it with Stacy until we got to Milton's family, who really weren't having it. Those were some uncomfortable interactions. Not that I can blame them. Every time I watch one of these dating show, I try to imagine how I'd handle it if one of my kids put me in this situation and yeah, I don't imagine I'd be happy. As for Stacy/Izzy and their unified attack on Johnnie... I feel that Izzy's behavior came down to him being drunk. That's the only reason I can come up with for his weird, unnecessary conversations with Lydia and Johnnie. Stacy, on the other hand, seemed to have all her wits about her, so I'm not sure why she was so mad at Johnnie. I get being annoyed that Johnnie started talking crap about her in the pods after Izzy dumped her but Stacy got Izzy in the end, so why is she so upset? Even if Johnnie and her had become friends in the pods, I'm not going to be that upset over a two week friendship ending. The only guess I have is that things weren't going well with Izzy, so she took it out on Johnnie.
  9. Yikes indeed! Honestly, to try and avoid situations like this, they shouldn't be waiting for contestants to come to them, they should actively be checking in once a day to make sure everyone's okay. Especially in Mexico when they expect two people who have just met to share a room (And I'm sure the fact that people have developed feelings for each other makes it more confusing). Guess that explains why they didn't show the other couple who made it to Mexico. This season really is such a mess.
  10. The only guest who looks marginally interesting to me is Arnold Schwarzenegger (who I feel must be doing this interview as some kind of favor to Whoppi).
  11. I'm hoping that the convertible was actually being pulled by another car the entire time because if they put someone in their 70s in a car without headlights and told them to drive on the freeway at night, then the production on this show has lost its mind. I also felt that the wedding dress photo shoot was cruel. The other outfits were all more costumey and fun but a wedding dress has significance. Which I'm sure is what they were counting on but it just seems very ugly and insensitive.
  12. Chevy makes sense to me, with the Steve Martin/Martin Short connection. Even if he turns out not that great, he can't be as bad as Cara Delevingne or Amy Schumer.
  13. I find it so freakin' patronizing when people go on about women doing things like not wearing make up as if they're brave and courageous. I'm 41 years old and most women I've known don't wear makeup all the time. I'm sure there are women who wear it because they have low self-esteem or are self-conscious but I think that most of us just wear it because we like to. I love makeup and depending on how I feel, sometimes I do an entire glam look, sometimes I do a minimal look and sometimes I don't wear any. Pamela Anderson probably didn't wear any makeup because she just didn't feel like it that day, not because she's trying to start an anti-makeup revolution. I swear, people in the entertainment industry think the entire world is LA. And don't even get me started on whatever the heck Sunny is doing to her pubic hair...
  14. No, in the final scene of the play, the nanny says something along the lines of, "So you're the killer" to the detective (Paul Rudd/Martin Short's role) and he answers with, "Yes, but I'm also the father." So I'm assuming that the mother left him and moved to the lighthouse (possibly because he was nuts and she was trying to protect her babies) and he found her and killed her, then either pretended to be a detective or actually is one, and used that as a cover to try and get his kids and apparently killed the constable in the process. The nanny figured it out and pushed him to his death, thus saving the triplets. I liked this season the best overall. The murder wasn't that hard to figure out (and a bit of a trope) but at least everything was logical, thought out and there were no loose ends. With seasons 1 & 2, I feel that it's really more the atmosphere and the dialogue that are enjoyable whereas the actual mysteries make no sense and are very all over the place. I knew the second they showed "Charles" in the dark apartment it was really Sazz. I'm with @paigow in that Sazz used her dying breath to spell something out in blood which the trio will of course misinterpret until the last episode (possibly second to last) of next season. I do wish that the elevator killer had been Tobert instead of Cliff, just because both mother and son going to jail (as one of them dies from cancer), is just really sad. I was holding out hope that Mabel would discover footage on Tobert's camera of the fall, proving that he'd been there secretly watching from behind a cracked door or something, but no such luck. I hope Mabel gets an actual job next season because 30, aimless and unemployed is not a good look.
  15. I read an article somewhere online where the creator (Or producer? Someone who runs the show) said that their were some other couples that got engaged (and one even made it to Mexico) but they decided not to show them. Maybe they were all too well adjusted? If that's the case, I feel that they made a mistake because this season could use a few couples that aren't a complete mess.
  16. Using the third person is very common when it comes to self-help or therapy these days. I'm not sure why. Maybe it makes it more personal? Or it helps the person to look at themselves from an outside perspective?
  17. Does anyone know if this show has a makeup artist? For the pods portion, at least? Because if they don't, it might be a good idea to hire one because both Stacy and Taylor's makeup is pretty harsh.
  18. I get JP not being into the whole tiktok makeup look that Taylor was sporting but OMG, there were so many more tactful ways to go about expressing that. Instead of saying her makeup looked horrible, he should have emphasized how pretty she looked without makeup and said (in a nice, non-judgmental tone), "Why were you even wearing all that makeup? You're so pretty that you don't need it." The fact that he basically stopped talking to her because of her makeup is bonkers. Who does that? I feel like the issues he had with his mom growing up have really left him with some messed up views of women (or at the very least, some unconscious misogyny). It's one thing to have a preference but to demand that your partner cater to that preference (especially one that deals with how they look), is insane. And how on earth did Taylor not bring up JP's plethora of patriotic clothing when he insulted her makeup? My husband kept referring to him as Captain America, since he only seems to wear red, white and blue.
  19. Aww, man, I really liked this show. I was hoping that Topher Grace getting a lot of internet love over the Danny Masterson trial would help its chances of renewal but I guess not. Boo, ABC. Boo!
  20. Is it just me or do all the couples suck this season? I thought JP and Taylor had a chance but her saying "looks don't matter to me anymore" after seeing him (unless they edited that and she said that while they were still in the pods) is not a good sign. Also, I find it kind of ironic that she's not into him physically because although neither of them are the hotness, JP to me is average whereas Taylor (with all her lip filler and whatever else she's had done), is slightly below. Then we have Uche and Aaliyah, with him giving all the red flags already and while sweet, Aaliyah seems a little sad since she stuck around even after how rude he was to her over the cheating thing. Then there's the entire Lydia situation... Which brings me to Lydia and Milton, they're just not going to last. He seems very nice and sincere but Lydia's got a lot going on there and she just doesn't scream "stable". Izzy and Stacy I guess could work? I don't know. There just didn't seem to be much there but maybe that means they'll be drama free? They're just so forgettable that I can't really root for them. I'd like to know who Renee was talking to because she's had a lot of screentime in the women's living area but we've seen basically zero of her in the pods.
  21. The writers' strike ended last week but the actors' strike is still going on. I believe they are supposed to meet again for negotiations on Monday.
  22. This strike needs to end because I cannot anymore with these actors touting their mediocre books.
  23. When I was in college, I ran into a good number of guys who had recently read or were reading The Art of War. I think it's just a phase a lot of guys go through. Makes them all feel grown up and manly. LOL. The fact that Sunny is impressed by it makes me roll my eyes so hard.
  24. Honestly, I think the ideal would be that you came on the show, met someone, got engaged but then were deemed not interesting enough for the show to want to continue filming you, which would free you and your new significant other to explore your relationship without all the cameras and married in four weeks timeline. I think 30 is a little old but I'd be fine if it was 25 and up. I feel that 25-35 would be the best age range for this show. Old enough to have some life experience and an idea of what you want in a partner but young enough that you can still have kids.
  25. Finally got around to watching this with my husband last night. We both felt so bad for Aaliyah. I get how her cheating in the past was a red flag for Uche but as others have said, he should have told her that he was going to need a day to process and decide if he wanted to continue with their relationship. He seemed to take her cheating personally, which makes me wonder if he's been cheated on in the past. He was just so angry about it that I feel there has to be more going on there. Also, I feel that he should have asked about the cheating thing earlier, if he was going to view it as a dealbreaker. On the Chris reveal, this is why I do not understand people who let their minor children go on trips with no adult supervision. Why were he and his friend in Mexico by themselves at that age? There is no way in hell I'd let any of my kids do that. And yes, it is crazy to me how often sexual assault on males (and just sexual pressure in general) is often overlooked.
