  1. Sounds exactly like... ...every cat that ever existed.
  2. Yeah, you'll need to stay out of the Grammar thread referenced above. One's dangling modifiers and past participles won't know what him 'em.

  4. I've never been a dog owner, but it definitely seems like folks are as delusional / irrational about their dogs as some parents are about their children. The "my dog wouldn't do _____" theory is just, well dumb is what it is. Yes, there are leash laws for a reason, and yes, you are obligated to follow them. You nor your dog are special. Strap up!
  5. "Harrison will receive a rose of his own in the form of mid-range eight-figure payoff and promise to keep his mouth shut, I hear." chris-harrison-leaving-the-bachelor-franchise-controversy
  6. lol I read the story for clarification, because I was like, what!! He was Prince's dad?!?
  7. Now that^ is a pet peeve. Truth is that which is the case. It belongs to everyone.
  8. Wish I did. Probably just take some time. Like probably until the month of August when the fireworks asshats have finished blowing up their wallets. If you can solve human assholery, you will conquer the world.
  9. I hear people utter this frequently. By people, I mean my husband. 🤦‍♀️
  10. Confession: Haven't watched a single frame of this season. I suspected this would happen at the conclusion of the previous season, and after reading that the skinny blonde...Leah would/could be the focus. Don't care for her. Aaaanywaaaay, haven't missed it, but appreciate that I can come here and read the high and lowlights. Thanks to all of you for your sacrifice.
  11. There's another way; the populace can stop being patrons of the celeb gossip products. That will never happen either.
  12. Same here. It's difficult to imagine a life that has "people" to perform every.single.task, but I think that's what we're talking about here. Their lives have been so incredibly ... layered, that they know no other way.
  13. You have just detailed why some companies don't/won't like the work from home model, imo. Being a sales professional, I have dealt with short sightedness about unseen employees my entire adult life. The prevailing attitude seems to be that sales people who aren't in the office at least twice per day, are out f*cking off somewhere. Obviously, there are those who are doing just that, but I've always countered those managers who insist on detailed call reports, mileage sheets, office check-ins etc., with "Give me 30 days. If the results aren't evident, then you'll know what I have or haven't been doing." Managers who insist on having employees on-site, if those jobs truly don't need to be performed on-site, are simply people with trust issues. Probably because they themselves screwed off when the cat was away. I haven't filled out a call report in 35 years. p.s.: I'm certain there will be those here who will disagree. That's fine, this is just my personal opinion based on my own experience.
  14. 3rd redhead: "Uh huh". I'm 61 yrs old, and have never seen Bambi. Sue me.
  15. At the risk of sounding like a "get off my lawn!" ol' fuddy duddy, I really, truly wish that fireworks were limited to official events, done by professionals. To clarify, I felt the same way when I was not in my 7th decade on this marble. All the decades, I've felt this way. Think of all the digits, limbs, and ER visits that could be saved. Then think about all the animals that could be spared from the terror of it all. Yep. Celebrating like an adult. ~sigh~
  16. Ok, let's do a what if... Maddie up and leaves Chim (either with or without the baby) due to her PPD (perhaps JLH wants out with a new baby of her own?), and Eddie recovers enough to become a 9-1-1 dispatcher.
  17. Agreed. In trying to reconcile this in my head, I can only conclude that a) the actress has compromising photos of a producer, or b) she's related to someone of import in the organization. Reminds me of the Rusty character in Major Crimes (which I'm forced to watch/listen to while in the room with the Hubs, who adores the show). Extremely annoying character, who seems to get 75% of the scene time.
  18. That was sort of my take on it too, for what I know about either, which isn't much.
  19. I actually did that after I posted/edited my comment. Thanks
