  1. Unfortunately, online ordering only seems to support buying in case lots of mixed varieties, and my little darlings won't eat all of the varieties packed in the cases. The little darlings insist on variety, just not that variety. Amazon, Chewy...I've checked them all. I was at Petco yesterday. Their supply was similar.
  2. Today's pet peeve is a pet 😾 peeve. I am good 'n damned sick 'n tired of not being able to easily (or even moderately) find my cats' preferred food. I'm traversing the county bi-monthly to 4-5 stores, just to get enough inventory to feed them. We're closing in on two years of this chit now, and I would like these manufacturers/distributors/importers/transporters/retailers to figure it the f*ck out. The photo is from today's effort, at a large midwestern/Great Lakes regional supermarket chain. Every store I go to, looks very similar. Thanks for the rant space.
  3. Most sincere condolences @isalicat. I hope your pain is brief. It really is difficult to understand why the creatures who often give us the most unconditional love and companionship, are here for the least amount of time. I'm not a particularly religious person, but I've always felt that to be rather profound, like there's a lesson there if we'll see it. Go get 'em Louis. You've earned it.
  4. Just in case I'm not the only person in the free world who didn't know - ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response) is a physical sensation characterised by a pleasurable tingling that typically begins in the head and scalp. It is commonly triggered by soft or accented voices, personal attention, ambient sounds or watching people work silently, among others. Also referred to colloquially as "head tingles".
  5. I'm going get real here and say that the USPS has been f**king up delivering the mail, all while losing millions annually, since well before the pandemic was a concept in a lab somewhere. Now, they've added f**king up package deliveries to their resume'.
  6. I felt the same way about that former Olympic swimmer, Ryan Lochte(?), and he did pretty well, and hung around a few weeks, so the forgiving public will have the last word I guess.
  7. Wonder if her pro partner will have the walnuts to choreograph a number simulating rowing a boat. Or something. That'd be worth tuning in for.
  8. Yikes! I know this is where dead careers go for resuscitation, but wow. Has she read the room? Any room? (OJG) dancing-with-the-stars-season-30-cast-revealed
  9. I received my first shingles & flu shots simultaneously a couple years ago. Perhaps it's a Walgreen's corporate lawyer thing? Mine was given at our local supermarket's pharmacy.
  10. I have been turning my brain inside out trying to cipher this one, lol. So your cousin remarried? I'm so confused, lol.
  11. Did your grocery start up their salad bar? Ours is still down, and now I'm wondering if it will return any time soon.
  12. I find the deli salads to be very heavy handed with vinegar. Doesn't seem to matter which one I try - too much vinegar.
  13. Oh, so sorry. I imagined it differently when reading your post. It is certainly one of the worst, suckiest, kindest, most loving things we have to do. If only we could bestow such kindness on our human family. Oops! Did I say that out loud? I have you in my thoughts GaT.
  14. So, you're saying I have to read an article? Hmmph. That is not what I expect from my social media activity!
  15. That was my reaction too! How are they supposed to live while creating this NYFW line? Weird. Wasn't the monetary award north of $100k previously? I'm confused.
  16. Really sorry @GaT. Once some time has passed, I'm confident that you will realize the blessing your little friend received by not suffering further, and for you both to have been spared the incredible stress of that dreaded final act of compassion. @icemiser69, I completely understand you questioning your motives, but you shouldn't. Both things can be true, and very valid reasons for what you did. If you were stressed by their pain, then it was time indeed. We have to allow ourselves to heed intuition.
  17. Yeah, I have to wipe the door gasket after every laundry session, plus I remove the dispenser drawer and dump it (it inexplicably tends to fill with water), plus wipe out the cavity it slides into. Every so many loads (not sure how many), the washer prompts me to run a cleaner cycle, and I use the commercially available cleaner specifically for that purpose. Edit - Pretty certain I won't be buying another front load machine. They were marketed as more efficient, but for me, the pain-in-the-ass factors outweigh the benefits. I also stupidly didn't purchase the obscenely expensive storage drawers that they would normally sit upon (didn't need the storage), not thinking about the fact that they would sit about a foot or more lower as a result. Reaching into the depths of the washer/dryer to retrieve the unwilling socks has been a bit of a back breaker. The modern top loaders are likely far better than my old top loaders, and probably better than these sexy-but-stupid front loaders.
  18. While everyone's experiences can vary, for me, I feel like the health-centric conversations can come from a bit of lonliness, or because folks with many or serious health conditions often have a very small world. When your only social interactions are doctors/nurses/caregivers, perhaps they just find some comfort in talking with someone outside of that realm, even if the subject matter is the same. At the end of the day, I feel people just are looking for some sense that people care about what is happening to/with them, and that their problems matter. I had these very same gripes in my 20's, 30's, 40's...about my parents and their contemporaries; constantly comparing notes about health issues. Now that I have a husband with many health issues which have limited his/our ability to socialize as we used to, I do find myself discussing these things more than I ever thought I would. I know not everyone fits ^this explanation, but try to remember that the person sharing this unsolicited information may just need a sounding board, as annoying as it can be.
