  1. Get out of my head! My husband now mutes this ad, so he doesn't have to hear me gripe about it, lol.
  2. Yeah, not working for 18 months due to a pandemic is a bitch amiright?
  3. Sounds like they're performing remedial trouble shooting, straight out of the Car Stuff For Dummies handbook. Yanking the battery is the low hanging fruit. Obviously, there is an electrical issue that is causing the batteries to be ruined. That, or you have the unequalled skill of having all the bad batteries in your area installed in your car, and yours alone. I don't recall if you said that your car was still under warranty? Even if it isn't, I'd say it's time to put everyone involved on blast on social media. Twitter seems fairly effective with this practice. Make sure to tag the car mfgr, the original battery mfgr (they don't want their reputation sullied, even if they're not the culprit), and any and all repair shops/dealerships you have worked with on this issue. Perhaps it's time for a lawyer letter to all the ^above, and make sure to cc the appropriate usa.gov/car-complaints agency. Keep accurate, complete records of your time/expenses spent in dealing with the issue. Lastly, good luck!
  4. Thank you so much. I'm not familiar with the organization, don't believe they're around here (Northern IN/Great Lakes region), but I'l check into it.
  5. Wasn't it John who, after paying Jimmy's substantial medical bills, told him to stop the rodeo nonsense or he would be done with him? I agree that John himself excels in ignoring medical advice, but Jimmy made his own bed I thought. Am I remembering it incorrectly?
  6. Thanks to you and @Bastet for your advice and kind words. I truly appreciate it. Been through this more times than I care to think about.
  7. They are indulgently cross-promoting other shows, to the point of aggravation for the viewer, well this viewer anyway. I also find it tedious and not germane to the storyline. I know John wants to blah blah horses, and Jimmy blah blah whatever, but still. I also agree that they are taking huge liberties with Kayce's Livestock Agent authority. "Let me just put on my LA flak vest, then go murder people in the name of cattlemen everywhere." It's more stretch than my Spanx get on a given day.
  8. My husband and I had the same concerns. "Isn't that terribly hard on those horses"? I choose not to think about what happens when their 'career' ends.
  9. Let's ask Christian Siriano. Admittedly, he's the exception not the rule, but this would be a helluva resume' bullet point (unless you stunk up the place and exited early). Michael Costello is another who parlayed his appearance into a very successful career designing red carpet garments, though not without controversy. There could be many who have gone on to work for design houses, had small independent lines of their own etc, and we wouldn't know about it. I think many of us tend to think that if you aren't on a level with CS, you haven't arrived, but there are thousands of good jobs in the industry that don't involve having your own name on a label. All ^that said, I too believe that there must be something keeping talent away from the show. It could be that it is a real time committment; one that would keep someone away from family and jobs for a fair stretch of time. Not all employers/children/spouses would be accommodating. I think it takes around 6 weeks to film in entirety, though obviously, not all contestants need that much time. untold-truth-project-runway
  10. With a euthenasia on our horizon, I've been grappling with whether or not to take her sibling with us, with the thought that she will somehow understand why Onyx didn't come home. I'm trying to avoid visiting human baggage onto a cat, while not really knowing what they do and don't comprehend. I'm sure that Pearl knows Onyx is ill, but will she make that connection? I don't think, given all the Covid nonsense, that the Vet will make a home visit, which is what we would prefer. Add to this that I don't want to "poison the well" with Pearl, and make her travel anxiety even worse when she has a vet appointment. Overthinking is my birthright. 😏
  11. Reasons why GBBO was a sanctuary for me last year, during the height of Covid lockdown.
  12. So now he wants to start this? lol I found none of the garments to be particularly interesting, pleasing, or even conforming to the requirements of the challenge. Party of one perhaps, but I didn't find either winning look compelling, and despite their words after the judging was announced, I didn't think it looked like Tara or Johnny were bowled over by anything they saw either. Oh well, every season has its dog of an episode, and hopefully this was it.
  13. Yeah, we also have overhead cabinets, but there would have been clearance. I will say that they would have been uncomfortably tall to use for folding, etc. if on the peds. Plus, kitties would have to work harder to "ride the dryer" (aka nap).
  14. Years ago I had a car with a chronic/unexplained electrical problem that chewed through batteries. Like you, I kept being told "it's the battery". I kept saying "yes, but what is killing these batteries?!?" Long story short, I traded the car sooner than I wanted to, as I tired of the issue. Best of luck to you in finding a quick resolution.
  15. Hubs and I have oft lamented not having the foresight to have them built, though time was of the essence when we purchased the W/D, and neither of us are blessed with that skill set. I'd wager that the $250/$300 storage peds would rival the lumber/labor in today's market.
  16. A bit of advice regarding front-load washers - A certain buyer of same, who looks much like me, opted out of the ridiculously expensive storage drawer which is typically sold for these to sit upon. As a result, the stoop-and-snatch motion required to retrieve the contents of these cavernous behemoths becomes more challenging as one ages. Go with the storage pedestals. Trust and believe.
  17. Yes, I believe she introduced herself as the Chair of the Board of Market Equities when she was approached by Rainwater.
  18. Yeah, what I figured too, after they revealed that he wasn't completely daft.
