  1. I would actually find it refreshing to learn why I hadn't been selected, as I've always lamented the lack of feedback in those situations. I'm left to my imagination, which is almost always worse than the actual reasons, I suspect. Put me in the 'yes, I want to know' column.
  2. I used to feel that way too. Maybe it's Ricky Gervais' fault, but ever since streaming a couple of his newer shows, I have added it to my regular repertoire. It seems as if the Brits use it differently than Americans? I, like RG, use it equally between the genders, but generally confine it to home use.
  3. I'm in agreement that the "comedy" is wearing very thin, and needs to be dialed back to be more on the level it was with Mel/Sue. I don't blame PH for his involvement in the opening gags (appropriate word), as I suspect the producers are pulling those strings. I don't however, wish him to leave the show. I feel that his critiques are valuable and informative, as are Pru's. She definitely seems to defer to Paul, so perhaps that too is a producer edict. What we don't know is what sort of feedback the show is getting from viewers/advertisers. If the concensus is "more Paul", then that's what they're going to do. 🤷‍♀️
  4. I'm guessing both. Another poster with knowledge of it said the horses were incredible athletes. I have to believe that the rider also requires a lot of training. 🤷‍♀️
  5. I have a different take than most when it comes to swearing, probably because I'm a prolific swearer. Sometimes I think we relinquish too much power to words, which really is hypocritical, since I also feel that there is no better release than that hard 'k' at the end of the f-word. I'm not particularly religious, so I'm not offended by the use of JC or GDY, though I usually refrain from using those particular curses, as I know many are deeply offended. Had my father and husband not been hearty cussers, perhaps I wouldn't be either, as I do consider myself to have an above average vocabulary, contrary to the opinion of many who look at cursers as having that deficit.
  6. Yeah, that was an uncomfortable moment for me as well. I'm a detail geek, especially when it comes to checks! Could be more coming on that.
  7. Um... "Rot in a garbage dump covered in decomposing kale!" Yeah, doesn't have the same effect.
  8. Not personally familiar with the production, Scout's Guide To The Zombie Apocalypse. 28 years is far too soon. young-movie-star-joey-morgan-dead-at-28
  9. This. 100% Edit - My opinion that Crystelle utilizes theatrics at certain times is not an indication that I don't like her, or that I'm a misogynist, or a sexist, or any other ist. I myself employ theatrics at certain times, when storytelling, or perhaps when defending myself in front of a traffic court judge. It's not that serious. This is a competition show featuring amateur bakers, not a scientific expose on genomics. But it is a darn good competition show featuring amateur bakers.
  10. Was that prize money? I thought they sold the horses. I should stay in the city; I can't hang, lol.
  11. Final paycheck and the suggestion to not let the screened door hit you in the ass on your way out.
  12. Do we think the closing scene with Lloyd, where he somewhat wistfully looked around the bunkhouse, was meant to convey anything specific? I half expected him to grab his duffle and clear out, sort of an I'm too old for this now moment.
  13. Seeing your quote of my post, highlighting my glaring misspelling of "pour". Always delightful in a post making fun of someone else. 🤦‍♀️
  14. She couldn't pour water out of a boot if the instructions were on the heel.
  15. Dan Akroyd's younger brother has died. peter-aykroyd-snl-cast-member-and-writer-dies-at-66 peter-aykroyd-dead-saturday-night-live-pays-tribute-to-former-cast-member-writer-
  16. Agree. Not for me, but neither is this, at well north of $500:
  17. Okay. I was absent when his drug past was discussed I guess. 🤷‍♀️
  18. I must have nodded off, lol, who are we talking about here?
  19. I was uninspired by it as well. The color was off-putting to me, and I was trying to envision a color that I would have preferred. Never did come up with one. I was sure that Praje (sp?) would win. To me, that was the epitome of editorial and high style. I really liked Octavio's, though that hat height was, again, ridiculous. I liked the red lacy dress, but not as much as the judges did. As I sit here the next morning, I can't even recall the other designs, so that's telling in my case.
  20. I know it's hard, but try not to view them as 'rejections'. There are a handful of things in life that happen because a better fit awaits; jobs are one of those things. Consider it as one more wrong before you get to right. You're closer than you were!
  21. I'm a proponent of the children having the chance to be involved in the discussion, if not the procedure. If they're in school, they should be old enough. Otherwise, it does seem it would be cruel to just spring it on them. You have to know your kids though, so a really individual situation I guess.
  22. Yes, let's create a hug protocol. Professionally, wait for the other person's cue, then barely close in, and only if you're comfortable. Sort of the hug version of air kissing, and never a tight squeeze, imo. I would even say to turn your head away from theirs, because well, pandemic. Seems weird to even be discussing this after the last 21 months. I mean, a year ago, we were eulogizing the handshake. That didn't last either. Seems like hugs should be reserved for those we hold dear, not casual acquaintances and business colleagues.
