She basically tells us that Michael did the legwork, not Dorinda, so her reaction was justified. I'm not invested in whether or not she was grateful enough to Dorinda, but I will say that if one of "her people" went through any degree of effort, at her direction, to complete a task for someone and she wasn't personally thanked? Well, just let me get to the storm shelter first. She starts out by talking about parents hiding gifts, and how it's "frankly, preposterous". Thankfully, I have been spared both of these traumas so far, but I would agree with your sentiment. I'm thinking that I would have an extreme emotional reaction to either thing, perhaps not the same emotions, but extreme and devastating nonetheless.

True, and I'm sure the woman who was on a date with Tom never expected him to sneak off with Luann when they met at the bar.

I would think that his business, plus any investments would continue to earn. Does he have to get an actual paycheck to be required to pay child support? If true, that segment of our legal system is more effed up than I thought.

She took pride, as do many others, in having no filter. Having no filter has consequences. There is always someone to answer to, whether you own your own business, make your living on your own terms, or not. It is most unfortunate that she has taken income from dozens of other people. For me, the reboot was nowhere near as entertaining as the original, and for that reason, I'm not broken up about this. I am sad that a grown human cannot understand that actions have consequences. It's hard enough to teach that to children. On second thought, maybe she has provided a really great example for that lesson. So there's that.
