I am so glad John covered Joy's inaccurate account on George Washington himself. I thought I was the only one. -

That ET audition that Henry Thomas did is what got him the role and at the end, you could hear Spielberg saying, "Okay, kid, you got the job." Say what you want about ET and Poltergeist, but these movies were the key inspiration for Stranger Things. Without these films, I don't think it would have happened.

I don't think he was.

S01.E05: Monsters Recede but Never Vanish
Robert Lynch replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in I'll Be Gone In The Dark
What is ironic is that Patton Oswalt did a VH1’s I Love the 80s series which features comedian personalities like Mo Rocco, Michael Ian Black, Mo Collins, and others who talked about pop culture. It was from 2002 and three years before his marriage to Michelle. Does anybody remember the I Love series from VH1? I just found it interesting he married someone associated with the decade. -

I know, but it is weird seeing people so close together, even in early 2020. -
I liked it. But seeing him with Jimmy Kimmel was so telling in his gaunt appearance and it looked he was prepared for it. It's weird to look at clips from the past and noticed how much energy he had then. The Jimmy Kimmel one just shows he lost weight and his pallor was really telling.

The actress that Patton got married to is 1980s star Meredith Salenger from Dream A Little Dream and that River Phoenix movie she was in. -
A limited series at that. And they should focus on the child stars from the silent era. When the talkies came, they were immediately discarded when they open their mouths. Phillipe De Lacy was only 13 when his career was finished. If they show clips of their silent movies VS their talkie films, it shows the contrast to their brief time in Hollywood. You could find Our Gang from the 1929 talkies with some of the kid actors from the silent era speaking for the first time. It seems stilted and bad, but given the era of the time, it's a great lesson as to how Hollywood used kids as commodities then.

Did anybody watched the Regis tribute last night?

Also Lucille Ball died of the same condition as well. -
Wow...was 2001 really that long ago? Both Harry, Jodie, and Nathan looks so young. Jodie was doing Panic Room around this time.

Slavery is a necessary evil...?!? Are you kidding me, Tom? The nerve... -
It’s weird how energetic both Regis and Trebek were in the early 90s. 1992 is the year I went to Disney Orlando on my birthday trip on my 9th birthday. Good times.

I am so glad they are tackling on the racism with Spanish people in the 19th Century. Around this time period, the Spanish people were looked upon very much like a sub human species. My mother's family were dealt with a lot of racism in the 50s and even my own mother who went to school in Connecticut was looked upon very badly by students. She recalled growing in Connecticut was so bad that even name calling was pretty prevalent among students of white families. It was something to acknowledge that even when she had her first real job, she experienced the same treatment she did when she was a girl. Pretty sad, but it shows how long our Spanish friends endured this abhorrent behavior for so long. -
In Memoriam: Entertainment Industry Celebrity Deaths
Robert Lynch replied to Kromm's topic in Everything Else TV
It’s like a little part of me died when I heard the news. Regis....he always spoke highly of his wife all the time. His last appearance was on FOTB. I honestly thought he would make it to 100. -
If you want to see Baby Peggy, there is a Biography from TMC from several years ago. It's worth it. The oldest child star to live to be over 100 and did good in the long run. What are the odds of that? I wish a limited series as well. Start with the old child stars all the way to the present day child stars(Jacob Tremblay, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, etc.). It would be worth it.

Shame we would not have it in theaters, but better safe than sorry. Who knows? Probably it'll garner another one in the near future in theaters.

Leslie looks exactly like Phyllis Smith from The Office. She even sounds like her.
