  1. IIRC, Bob decided to pay back when Abishola first mentioned returning to school. It led to discussions here about how much money the family has since Maxdot is everyone’s source of income, they all have nice lifestyles, and Bob offered up $250k like he was offering to buy her soup and a half sandwich. (I guess now they have Abishola’s earnings, too.) Did the sister leave the show entirely?
  2. Salem, MA: This one was kinda pushing it, I thought. One of their parents gave them $100k from the parents’ lottery win. If your budget is up to $700k that extra money wasn’t why they hadn’t moved from Boston center. Does she ever let her husband talk? She responded to all of David’s comments, and the husband would work in a remark occasionally. I found that irritating. Plus she made that awful joke about only one closet, so where was her husband going to put his clothes. 🙄He said about two sentences in the goodbye montage. All 3 houses were pretty big, but I’m glad they didn’t pick the duplex. Why go back to apartment-style living when you have that kind of budget and are moving to a much smaller town.
  3. I want Bob to stand up for himself more. What he did “wrong” this episode was be surprised his wife didn’t talk to him about moving a flight away. Walking on eggshells around someone who’s demanding, unempathetic, and unbending isn’t much of a life. I’m getting undertones of a cycle of abuse (couched in “laughs.”) She might not yell or hit him, but she gets mad and then he begs forgiveness for causing her to feel slight, and then she apologizes. She doesn’t get to be mad at his reaction to her behavior.
  4. I wonder how Sam can drive with ghosts everywhere? Presume anyone jaywalking is a ghost?
  5. The announced it a month earlier this year. (I have no idea what that means if anything at all, just noted.)
  6. I Googled “Johns Hopkins MCAT scores” and found anywhere from 519-521 as the average score for admission. The top tier other med schools were within a point or so. GPA’s were 3.8-3.9 avg. She’d qualify if her grades were good enough, now if they’d give her a spot, who knows.
  7. Why can they walk through doors, but they don’t fall through floors? They don’t know, either.
  8. I felt Ruth picked the hotel to do a victory lap over her old boss and show everyone how much she’d changed in a few years. It’s a start, and the loan was small enough she’d be able to explain getting approved for it.
  9. Should we start a thread about Ghostly Incongruities? There’s discussion (often repetitive) every episode. I personally don’t care why they can walk through most walls but not vault doors or why they don’t fall through floors or why they leave divots in cushions or why they need to sleep. They’re plot devices, and this isn’t a documentary.
  10. Adirondacks, NY: repeat of $5M winner who already has a log cabin and wants something on the water. I’ve seen this a couple times and just don’t like the episode. Maybe the winner and her friend are uncomfortable on camera, but the tiny budget of $200K for a basic 4 walls and the unfunny dialogue with the giggling…I felt David really earned his money on this one.
  11. I’m over “Where are Helen and Ben.” I’m glad everyone got dicked over by the FBI (including Myra) and I really hate Wendy. Everything and everyone she touches she fucks-up. Any theories about the car crash at the start of Episode 1? Was that supposed to be before Navarro met with the supervisors and everything was a coma/fever dream? A flash to the future when they were getting out from under Javi? Poor Wyatt. What a hard life. Everyone else deserved it, but he was there when the Byrdes warned Ruth and Darlene that Mexico wanted them out, and he didn’t listen. How Darlene survived this long amazed me. So now Ruth’s supposed to go scorched Earth? How many times have we seen characters threaten to destroy everyone and everything? I’ll believe it when I see it. Whenever Part II come out in 2023.
  12. Had to rewatch to catch Sass’s and Thor’s reactions to the hot maid. 😁 Hetty was prettiest so had to marry Elias, which means Sam’s great-great Grandmother was Margaret, who had a moustache? I love how Jay enjoys the ghosts’ trials and tribulations like it’s another chapter in D&D: “I love it when the mythology gets expanded” when he learned ghosts couldn’t get through the vault door, and then his glee (which offended Sass) when Jay learned Elias went to hell.
  13. Going to put this here so people don’t have to read it in the episode threads: I can’t stand listening to people chew, and it’s like they’re eating and talking while chewing in every fucking scene. Hey, foley artists, looking at you: We don’t need to listen to them eating to know they’re eating.
  14. I watched the trailers for the first time today — so excited to see FBI Agent Maya back!
  15. Trevor can touch/move objects! I laugh at the CBS promo showing Jay getting out of the shower and reading, “Make Pizza” on the mirror, and him shouting into empty space that it’s not the new system. I think Pete’s explanation that Elias had recommitted to evil and thumbed his nose at the universe was probably more at cause than Hetty’s well-timed damning. Though it was funny to use it to her advantage. I need to watch again. I completely missed Sass and Thorfin agreeing about the maid!
  16. I count 10-11 bedrooms depending if Crash has his own. Sam/Jay, Thorfinn, Suss, Isaac, Hetty, Alberta, Flower, Pete, Trevor, and the moldy spare room. Crash would make 11. I’m curious how the show is going to work with them sharing rooms with guests when they have more than 1.
  17. Helen’s murder was one of the best cliffhangers I can remember. This week I’m going to have to watch the entire series over again, because it’s so complex and so long between seasons I forget a lot of the details. I still don’t buy the love between Ruth and Wendy’s brother, though, and don’t believe that’s why she would align herself against them. I hope the last season doesn’t hinge on that plot point.
  18. I liked the Poughkeepsie couple. The house they picked was decorated, so it was clear to me which was theirs. I’d be worried about the grade in the back yard, though. Water is going to drain down that hill directly toward their basement.
  19. I figured he got it as a chick magnet, but his sadness at dying before he found love seemed sincere.
  20. Imagine how hard-up ABC must be for content.
  21. I think the actors playing Missy and Sheldon have aged out of their roles as written. The writers were able to move Georgie into a young adult role, but they can’t reverse time and make the twins appear younger than their physical development. These are not children. In the last scene Sheldon is the same size as Dr. Sturgis. Also? Sheldon’s deep, monotone voice disturbs me. This episode stunk like ass.
  22. I just turned the channel. Can’t hear him, and she’s going to wake-up my neighbors.
  23. The 1st house’s basement had an Exit sign and the artwork around the basement fireplace seemed child-friendly. I wonder if it’d been used as a daycare center. The main room seemed updated and well kept, but the other basement rooms were raw. The 2nd house was the only real option for now. If she could’ve waited a few years until the kids were old enough to not want to play outdoors, she could’ve bought that 3rd house downtown where the small backyard was beautifully landscaped but had no play area. I was disappointed that she viewed everything in terms of “will this house help me create my fantasy of an ideal relationship.” She’s a freaking doctor who can afford a $500,000 house on her own. If he’s into you he will cook you breakfast, lunch, and dinner in any of those kitchens.
  24. We know Hetty doesn’t want any memory (or at least painting) of her husband around. Maybe he feels the same and has avoided the house? I’m going to guess theirs was an arranged marriage. His family had a respectable name but no money while her family had money but no name. What’s certain is Hetty is no one’s chattel especially after she learned to vote. Was Hetty deferential while alive? Will Sam and Jay’s relationship of equals guide her to resolve her past marital feud? (I also don’t think they need another ghost. Maybe we’ll see someone sucked off just so we know what happens?)
