  1. They're executive producers. OK, we have to come up with another thread title here, because I'm getting email notifications from Small Talk threads for several different shows and they look the same.
  2. I'm hoping the show lasts long enough for glasnost, perestroika, Gorbachev and even the fall of the Soviet Union. The reactions of Philip and Elizabeth, as well as their kids, could be interesting. Ultimately the kids could play a major part in whether they defect. Already, the show mentioned Andropov, someday becoming General Secretary, because in the early '80s, he was probably big in the KGB. Of course, glasnost and Gorabachev quickly follows Andropov's ascent to becoming leader and his short reign as General Secretary.
  3. I'm wondering if the scenes with the Mossad agent and the scientist will come into play later on if Philip directly considers the defection question again. I think the death of Leann and Emmet is also meant to play into growing doubts P & E are having about their roles.
  4. Boring in this context means not being assholes like the other cast members. Yeah not as entertaining to watch but probably not as difficult to being around. Brian "I'm a deep dude" is a laugh riot, probably unintentionally so.
  5. They really have to do a reboot of the show. They first promoted it as an up to date Manchurian Candidate. Brody wasn't suppose to last as long as he did -- there is speculation that Showtime forced the showrunners to keep Brody around. So now, they kind of have to show a different threat and build plot arcs around it. Maybe without keeping Brody and family longer than they should have, the writing can avoid some stupidities, like Brody texting from the situation room to warn Nazir.
  6. Anyone know if the character in the books grows up as much as the actress is growing up? Guess it could potentially be a spoiler. But can the show keep the actress through the whole run of the series if for instance the character remains 10-15 year old girl in the books?
  7. It's been a long time since I saw the movie. Main things I recall about it are the funny accents and the wood chipper. If it doesn't have those elements, they can't really call it Fargo now can they?
  8. Wasn't sure this was the Real World/Road Rules Challenge thread/forum. Glad I checked it out!
  9. Wow, so much coverage for B99, the little show that could.
  10. There seems to be a consensus that the American imitation is inferior to the Scandinavian original. Is it because the main characters are inferior in the copy than in the original? The actor who plays Marco is doing a pretty terrific job so the original guy (as well as the woman) must be something else. May have to get a region-free Blu-Ray player and order the import discs.
  11. There has to be a thread on this, because it's CMT's most popular show! The same production company which brought Jersey Shore to the world is trying to strike another hit. They're not going back to the same locale and they're digging for other southern beach towns. Meanwhile, CMT is saying it's coming back in June but the cast are in a contract dispute.
  12. This is the only Bravo show I'm currently watching. Only heard about it because Cameran from Real World San Diego is in it. Some of the cast members have been a hoot. It purports to show the elite in South Carolina (Charleston) so maybe a good pairing with Party Down South. Or maybe not.
  13. Any news on what the ratings have been like for All-Stars? Some of these teams elicited dislike for appearing on the show again. Maybe it turned off some significant number of viewers?
  14. Yeah but of the teams left, would it be tolerable for them to win?
