  1. I can only imagine how thin Jules is in real life - if the camera adds 10 - 15 lbs (I don't know where it could add it on Jules). I feel badly for her, because any type of ED is horrible to go through, and I don't necessarily think she is in full recovery at this point. She clearly still has food/self-image issues.
  2. That's an excellent point! Although, I do wish we would see less of him - he doesn't bother me as much as he does some, but it's always the SSDD (same shit, different day) with him and Dorinda.
  3. Or "allegedly" hit on anyone. (Interesting how Dorinda vehemently refutes this to her friends, but she also makes comments about this same behavior - like with the interns at Sonja's party tonight.)
  4. I'd go with a combination of your two reasons - he DOES do what Bethenny accused him of, and he's defensive about it {coming out on TV}.
  5. I agree with you completely! This is really shaping up to be a not-so-sweet season, and I have to say I'm not really enjoying it so far. I don't know if it is the disconnect because Luann and Sonja weren't filming from the beginning, but there is just something so not cohesive this season. It seems like Ramona has grown an even bigger set of balls than she had previously (or, maybe she got Mario's in the divorce and is carrying them around in her purse), but she has some been throwing some nasty digs at Dorinda, Sonja and Luann. And, excusing her comments with that little coquettish giggle and batting her heavily lashed eyes does not forgive anything she says. Dorinda is giving back as good as she is getting, and throwing nasty comments and insults right back. They all seem to be calling each other out on all the comments as soon as they hear them - Luann going after Ramona over her conversation with Sonja-cutting right to the chase. I think they are trying to bring the drama, a la the Atlanta ladies, but they all have just a little too much in the way of proper behavior and manners to really pull it off. I am so confused over the Dorinda and John relationship, I don't even know what to say. At least, this week wasn't so much "The Bethenny Show (oh, and her supporting players)" as the last few weeks have been. Can't believe Bethenny was hawking her wares and giving out freebies from a food truck. I also thought that Bethenny was the height of rudeness during the psychic reading. If you are cynical about that kind of thing, or don't believe in it, you should not be there - Carol's your "bff" - she would understand. Sonja's prosecco - I don't know what to even say. First, it seems like that Peter guy is just trying a little too hard to get involved with a Real Housewife - Ramona last season, and now, Sonja - but, Sonja didn't seem to mind sloppy seconds being the second housewife this guy is trying to nail do business with. How Sonja could possibly think that the name "TipsyGirl" wouldn't piss off Bethenny is beyond me. I mean, Bethenny has her own prosecco with the Skinny Girl beverage line. Wonder where she got the money for this - it's not like she delivered on any of the garments from her fashion line orders last year, has she? Last time I looked at her website, more than half of the clothing items were "sold out", and there was a pop-up for 50% off the entire website.
  6. Okay - so does anyone else think that Sonja had her breasts redone? Her breasts look a little larger than before, and you could practically see the implants in that outfit she was wearing at her shill birthday party....
  7. I'm kind of liking the firefighter guy too....
  8. I am seriously missing Captain Lee!!! :-(
  9. JD also owns Sermet's Downtown in Charleston, which is a very successful upscale restaurant. He's successful in his own right - I don't think he needs Thomas at this point, but maybe, prior to Thomas getting mixed up with drugs and jail, the Ravenal endorsement of the restaurant was an bonus for JD, when trying to establish Sermet's in a town chock full of great restaurants.
  10. THIS......all day! Perfect description! :-)
  11. Probably purchased through the same website where she purchased the "faux real" Birkin!! :-)
  12. I agree with you that JD should have provided all that information to Craig, but maybe the reason he didn't is because JD doesn't know that much about bourbon making himself? There is something about JD that bothers me. On the surface, I like him, but at times, there is something about him that just turns me off. I don't know what it is, but there is something there....plus, his little laugh at the end of some of his comments reminds me of Dick Dastardly. IIRC, when Craig was getting hired as a gofer "buying in" to the Gentry Hospitality Group, I thought that JD explained that Craig's job responsibilities would include working with/overseeing different departments of the Gentry brand, including the restaurants, the hotels AND the bourbon line.
  13. I actually felt very badly for Brandy tonight during that barbecue. First, Stephanie calls her husband and he says that he and Brian are at a bar, having just finished playing golf. So, was Brian also playing golf when he should have been at home with his wife? Second, he walks into his home, after being away for who knows how long and doesn't even greet Brandy, never mind give her a kiss or hug?? On top of that, he basically ignores her throughout the whole time he was on camera. Seeing next week's previews and what we saw tonight, I got a very weird vibe from him. I was very much reminded of Russel Armstrong (Taylor of RHOBH's husband). I'm hoping all it is, is that he is just not comfortable in front of the cameras, and was not really on board with the whole "being on a reality show" thing, and that's why he's "traveling" so much and seems so nasty. And, not to be too catty, but Brian is kind of unfortunate looking - he's not exactly something to swoon over, imo. Brandy's Grandfather and his wife seemed like good people - he gave Brandy some good advice. It was interesting to see the side eye he was giving Brian when Brian walked in the house. On the other hand, I'm kind of warming up to Travis. He seems a little controlling at times, but Stephanie doesn't seem to mind it too much, and he did take her on a romantic birthday trip, even if it was just overnight. He held the doors for her, he was respectful and comforting when she was so upset over the Leeanne dustup. And, wow....that bracelet was unbelievable!! (I wonder if she actually got to keep it, or if that scene was faked for the show?) And that charity event...that was considered an actual "event"?? Didn't look like much but a bunch of women outside a church or some other public building, collecting clothes for the poor - we have that in our churches here all the time, but I've never seen it classified as an "event"...there was no food, no drinks...just a collection drop-off area. And, the Leeanne and Tiffany fight? How fake and ridiculous could that have been? I kept looking to see if I could see the cue cards with their script somewhere! The guy in background - was he part of the production team? He was just standing there, checking out his phone, while two she-cats screamed and got in each other's faces - like this is a common, every day experience!! I don't like Cary when she is being so dismissive and condescending about her husband. How embarrassing for him (but, he does have great taste in womens' clothes!)
  14. Another thing I thought of, regarding why LVP may not have wanted to bring this up and into a public arena~~perhaps she just doesn't want people to know, as is her right. And, given the fact that LVP is British--the British tabloids are absolutely ruthless, unscrupulous and often, less than truthful (have any of you looked at any online "reports" from the Daily Mail?? - and that is considered one of the "better" tabloids), maybe she didn't want the tabloids and gossip magazines in the UK searching out her former boyfriends, and past friends and acquaintances for comments or backstory. I personally feel that what is in her past is none of our business, until LVP makes it our business. I feel like she was forced to do that during the reunion by Eileen.
  15. If Brandi has moved on from this show, as she claimed over and over again after she was fired, why is she even commenting on anything? If I remember correctly, she made tweets and comments to the press that being fired leaving was the best thing that ever happened to her, she was moving onward and upward, she was over and done with all of the housewives, Andy and Bravo, etc., blah-blah-blah.... And, now, she not only got a chance to be a bitch without any bitch-back from the others, she is also still tweeting and commenting on what happens on the show? She is just so sad and desperate for attention!!!!
  16. I think Sam was eliminated because the final runway challenge rules were already established, and everyone knew that there was no way that Sam would have been able to correctly create and construct 8 wearable garments in four days. When Zanna said she was going to send in some help for the designers, I cringed, expecting to see Sam walking back in to the workroom. Usually, the most recent eliminated designers come in to assist the finalists. I wonder if the finalists requested no Sam, or if Sam declined (I think that may have happened only once before). Interesting that we didn't see Sam at the final runway showing, either.
  17. She is designing a line of plus size clothing for JC Penney. http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/entertainthis/2016/04/11/first-look-project-runways-ashley-nell-tipton-brings-plus-sized-style-jcpenney/82759122/
  18. Again, I think this was a case of the judges being swayed by the designer's "story". Dom did receive the most criticism, but she sold her collection by explaining her design concept. I'm sorry - when I go into a store to buy something, or look through a fashion magazine and am immediately drawn to an outfit, I am not hearing or reading the "backstory" about what made the designer create that look. I'm liking it because of the cut, color, style and taste level of the garment.
  19. The only way that a former winner winning again would be fair is if they did a cast made up completely of former winners and "first runners up".
  20. I knew that Dom was going to win, just because I liked her collection the least, and my opinion is usually the direct opposite of the judges. I wasn't crazy about many of her looks, and I really didn't like the first runway dress - nothing about it. I didn't like the painted print, shape or design. The rest of her collection didn't wow me, either. Again, with the two level skirt that makes absolutely no sense for anyone. From a personal perspective, I liked Ken's the best. I loved all the pieces he presented. When the Marie Claire lady said it was "too commercial", I knew he would be in the bottom. I loved his first look, it was very reminiscent of Laura Bennett's collection during her season. And, that cream suit was to die for. Yes, it wasn't overly creative, but it was his look, for sure. That yellow gown was striking. I thought that Kini's collection should have won, just because I thought it was well thought out, wonderfully designed and very creative. (Also - I don't think it's fair that a PR winner should win PRAS, too.) Would I personally wear any of it? Maybe a few of the pieces, but not as many as I would wear of Ken's. I guess I'm just a "NJ mall" kind of girl. Hey, editor of Marie Claire - you do know that Short Hills Mall is in NJ, and has most of same high-end fashion stores as Manhattan?? After seeing that woman, I now understand why Nina Garcia is as bitchy as she is - I guess bitchiness is a job requirement at Marie Claire. Loved Debra Messing, and I thought her critiques were well thought out and constructive.
  21. Excellent point!! But, based on Mario's post-Ramona tastes, I think they're all too old for him to sleep with. Sounds like a new fragrance line named "Sonja".....
  22. Add in The Morgans~~Sonja's ex-husband's family. Sonja is probably the most "old money" connected then all of them and she traveled and socialized in those circles way more than any of the other housewives ever did or will. You're right, but I think it didn't bother me as much last season. Bethenny seems more mean and scathing this year.
  23. I like all of them at times, and at other times, I dislike all them just as much. Unfortunately for me, so far this season, I am disliking Bethenny more often than I am liking her, and I think because this season seems to be extremely Bethenny-centric. I like her in small doses - not in almost every scene and overtaking all of the scenes that she is in. This show is the Real Housewives of New York, and should be focused equally (or as equally as possible) on each of them. It is not a remake of "Bethenny Ever After".
  24. Carole was doing exactly what I do whenever I Skype or Facetime. Have you ever seen what you look like in those calls? Those cameras are very, very unforgiving, and especially so if the laptop or phone is below your face or at face level. If it's below your face, everything is drooping downward. No matter how good I think I look, in those cameras, I look like the worse example of a "before" picture for an advertised facelift procedure! It reminds me of a scene between Dorothy and Blanche from the Golden Girls, where Blanche looks downward at a mirror and was in shock at how she looked. Dorothy told her "at our age, only on your back, Blanche".
  25. I felt very badly for Luann during her conversation with Bethenny. I thought Bethenny was acting like a bitch to her - especially about something that had happened more than four months prior. It was one incident, and Bethenny blew it out of proportion (when speaking with Ramona and Carole), making it sound like Luann was stalking Bethenny all summer in the Hamptons. I like Luann, for the most part (well, after she came down from her Countess high horse), and she really seemed shaken up and emotional over a lot of stuff. I felt badly when she commented several times about just wanting to be included and not be excluded. I think she was lonely this summer.
