  1. I seriously have no problem with the way Carole, or anyone for that matter, pronounces "kitten", but I cringe whenever I hear ANY of the housewives say the word "texts"!! Why do they ALL (over all the franchises) insist on trying to pronounce that word correctly, instead of just simply saying "text messages", which is much easier???
  2. This whole "kitten" talk had me talking out loud to myself!! I guess I say it the same way...I totally do the whole "lazy t" thing with double t words like kitten, cotten and Manhattan. The "t" sound is not very pronounced. Maybe it is a regional thing....
  3. I think Sonja mischaracterizes a lot of situations. I seriously think that if some random, good looking guy from across the bar catches her eye and gives her a slight smile and nod of his head, in Sonja's mind, they've already hooked up! ;-)
  4. I agree - I'm surprised to hear Tom referred to as a "famewhore", or just wanting to be on TV because there was a quick glimpse of him in Season 1, he's had a few recent dates with Ramona, and he has supposedly hooked up with Sonja for the last ten years (which I don't believe for a minute). If he was so desperate to be on TV, he would have been sniffing around any available housewife, and offering himself up to escort them or date them while the show was filming, and we would have seen as much of him as we did Harry Dubin (blech!!!). I hope that this will work out for both Luann and Tom. He seemed likeable the ONE time we have seen him thus far, and he did seem quite taken with Luann. .
  5. If I remember correctly, didn't that whole thing between Sonja and Harry blew up because he supposedly left one of the cast parties with Luann? Seems like Sonja and Luann have been "dating" the same guys for a while now.
  6. Let's see if the next painting (or any advertisements at all) will have Sonja as the "face" of Tipsy Girl. That is, if it ever actually makes it to market. ;-)
  7. Exactly!! I don't know if it was producer manipulation (telling Luann one arrival time and Bethenny a later arrival) or if Bethenny was really just running late because of her health issues, but that, right there, put Luann in control of the situation. Luann was waiting for Bethenny, which gave her the upper hand right from the start.
  8. Sorry - I misunderstood your post!! ;-) Michael isn't looking so great in my eyes right now...(although, to be honest, I didn't like the way Jules described him in the beginning, saying he only dated models, or tall Russian girls, or whatever the hell it was - it seemed kind of shallow, whatever the description she gave).
  9. I think the point that Jules was trying to make was that she got back late, and her husband hadn't done anything with the kids, like give them their baths, or have them change out of their school clothes, so she had to do it. If I were her, I would have been pissed too. When my kids were young, and if I went out for the day, I expected my husband, their father, to do the routine daily care things, and try to keep them on their schedules.
  10. Isn't it possible that Luann just really didn't want to meet with Bethenny, because she was still reeling from Bethenny's nastiness in the Berkshires? But, she had to meet with Bethenny because the producers told her she had to, in order to kiss Bethenny's ring yet again, and garner good favor and an invitation to Mexico. So, instead of crawling and bowing, she took the upper hand and control of the situation (admittedly, she was nervous about it), by playing the "I'm madly in love" card, and basically throwing Bethenny off her game, and then managed to invite herself along to Mexico. I give her credit - she didn't really give Bethenny a chance to offer or refuse to offer an invitation. Luann was all "Well, good, so I'm going to Mexico with you all, and now, I have a hot date, so, thanks for the drinks, I'll pick up the tab next time", and out the door she went, without even giving Bethenny a choice in the matter. Luann did her job, got her invite, satisfied the producers. got a few jabs in at Bethenny, and is going on the girls' trip, all without being yelled or screamed at (well, Bethenny did call her a meth-head, but, overall, Luann controlled that entire conversation)...as far as I can see, mission accomplished!!
  11. I think that Jules may have grown up with nannies and housekeepers - she mentioned to Micheal that "her Mom didn't do all of this" when she was making eggs and coffee (I think those are the only two things she knows how to cook...). Her panic was probably because she has never had to juggle her schedule before, as it seems she has always had a nanny for her kids. Plus, she was worrying about her father (I'm guessing he was in a hospital in Edison, NJ), and she was wondering how the kids were going to get to/from school, etc. I mean, not for nothing, but Michael's office is right downstairs from their apartment - couldn't he have adjusted his schedule so that she could be with her father and mother, and he could have handled picking up Jagger from school? I guess they don't have friends in the school, where she could have arranged a playdate for Jagger after school, to go to a friend's house until someone could pick him up. I get what you're saying, and agree with you about caring for her children, but in her world, the panic is real.
  12. When Adam pulled out that guitar, I thought he was going to serenade Carole the same way Whitney from Southen Charm did to his beard girlfriend, and start singing "I fucking love you, I fucking love you".... I also wondered if he and Carole put any "secret" ingredients into that chocolate cake so they could continue with their buzz - he seemed like he had just smoked some weed, and I always think that about Carole, so, I wondered if ALL of the ingredients of that healthy chocolate cake will be in the cookbook. ;-) And I agree, Adam's voice grated on my last nerve. I don't like him, and I think he's using Carole for screentime and to get his name/face out there.
  13. I think Sonja's memory fogs over when it's advantageous for her, and I also think that she bends the truth a bit now and then....and that's being kind about Sonja! ;-)
  14. I have to agree with you. Luann did come across very unconcerned about Bethenny's health, and not only that, but after forcing Bethenny to have a second glass of wine, she stuck Bethenny with the bill....again!! (I think this is one way Luann gets back at Bethenny.) I have to say, however, that I LOVED Luann's comment to Bethenny about men and women who were in a romantic relationship remaining friends afterwards, and that Bethenny wouldn't know about that because she's never had that happen....that was such a great dig at Bethenny, and I think Bethenny was a little speechless because Luann fired a good, unexpected shot at Bethenny and she didn't have a comback! When Luann told Ramona that she and Tom were going to get married, you could almost see the wheels spinning in Ramona's brain, thinking "Shit - how did I let that one get away?"
  15. That scene at the restaurant was ridiculous. Starting when they were being seated and Bethenny declared that she would sit at the end. Important seat - that way, she can control the conversation and appear to be in charge. Then, when she brought up the trip, and they were all "voting" whether to invite Sonja and Luann or not?? I was reminded of high school girl cliques or college sorority girls voting whether to let someone join or not. Why not just pass around a velvet bag and black and white marbles, so they could see who would be black-balled?? Loved that Ramona just sat there and wouldn't voice an opinion one way or the other - one time Ramona was smart and kept her mouth shut. And, is Sonja's drinking problem that much of an issue? Or, is Bethenny afraid that Sonja will make a fool of herself talking about "her" prosecco instead of oohing and aahing over the flavors of Bethenny's new tequila based dreck? If this trip actually happens and they don't bring Sonja along, I will be pissed. I'm not a fan of any of this trips, because they make it seem like the "hostess" is being generous and magnanimous, when we all know that Bravo and the production company is footing the bill for everyone; so, everyone should attend, unless it's not possible for a good reason - not just because one housewife has a petty, bullshit dislike for another.
  16. Me, too....what a difference! The show was so much better then! And, what a difference between Season 1 Bethenny and Season 8 Bethenny!! She seemed more vulnerable and approachable then - now, not so much. I guess money can't buy you class, but money can buy you sass....and snottiness! Ramona seems to be pretty much the same, and I like Season 8 Luann much more than Season 1. I'd forgotten how "Countess-y" she actually could be back then. Also, I think Bethenny had her eyes tweaked. Her eyes in Season 1 had a definite downward tilt on the outer eye - I don't think they do that now. Or, it could just be more fillers in her cheeks now. Ramona looked much prettier back then and Luann is still stunning.
  17. See - this is where I have a problem, and it's probably just me. I have a problem with using the word "fuck" when referring to the act of having sex with someone. To me, it sounds more base, or dirty, if you will. I know it's just a word, but it still bothers me when I hear women (or men, for that matter), supposedly with some type of social manners and class, use that word in that context. I have no problem with saying or hearing "WTF" or "you're a fucking pain in the ass", or any other way the word can be used, but it just sounds trashy and dirty in the manner that Bethenny used it in this situation.
  18. I'm thinking the comment "I don't care if you're the biggest whore in Macy's window" is right up there with "the blind leading the deaf" in Bethenny-isms. It was said to sound bitchy-cute, clever and throw off Luann, but another one that fell flat. Bethenny needs to be careful - her Bethenny-isms are coming very close to Ramona-isms' territory. I think Bethenny said she wouldn't go down on a woman because she is allergic to fish, so alluding to the fact that another woman's private area would/could smell bad. It was a very snarky but nasty putdown of other women, imo. But, by saying what she said, it also goes to show that Bethenny is selfish when it comes to sex or lovemaking, in my opinion. She wants the prize (orgasm), but she's not willing to reciprocate.
  19. Well, I guess we have to at least give Bethenny some credit for not calling Luann a "prostitution whore" and flipping Dorinda's dining room table!! :-)
  20. Hey - does anyone here have the initials "BF" in real life? I think I know where you can get a handmade, designer handbag with your initials monogramed on it. After seeing this week's episode, you could probably get it for a great price! ;-)
  21. I'll agree that Bethenny was aware, after the fact, that she totally lost control and acted completely inappropriately. I don't know how ashamed she felt, though. Yes, Luann did go prattling on and on to Jules about how she had just been treated badly, but Bethenny didn't apologize to anyone for her behavior (Luann or Dorinda) - she continued to try to justify herself by prattling to Carole, and then, Ramona and Jules, when they all went looking for her upstairs. There was no remorse there, at all. Self-awareness, yes, but no remorse. She pushed it even further by sneaking around the house and eavesdropping outside of doorways and in hallways to give herself more ammunition to fire off at Luann. She wanted to slay Luann, she wanted Luann to be prostrate with sorrow and fright at the almighty mouth that is called Bethenny, and Luann remained, for the most part, calm and did not lash out back. And, that just added fuel to Bethenny's fire. Bethenny strikes me as the type of person who, when she's looking for a fight, she won't be satisfied until she is involved in a knock-down, drag-out war of words. If her opponent doesn't rise to the bait, she continues to rail until she gets the reaction she wants. Bethenny continues to spew that she is "above all this bullshit" and has "moved on", etc. (words we hear from all the Housewives, but we know are not true), so why does she feel the need to get even with Luann? Back when Bethenny felt slighted by Luann, when Bethenny was a poor, little working girl, just trying to find her way in the big city (snark....), she didn't hold back anything then, either. She spoke her mind. When was that scene at fashion week when Bethenny called Luann a snake - Season 2 or 3? That was a long time ago, and before her big deal with Jim Beam for the Skinny Girl product line. Rich Bethenny or poor Bethenny has never had a problem expressing her dislike for someone.
  22. I was thinking that Bethenny hasn't had a chance to approve/edit them first.
  23. That's doubtful....OC seemed to thrive on petty dramas way before the RHNY did, and as for screaming - well, I don't think that Tamra and Vicki know how to speak any other way.
  24. I'm giving Luann the benefit of the doubt based on what was said after the fact. As I mentioned, if the guy was away from his wife (whether separated or not), and looking for a good time, of course, he's not going to discuss his marital status with the good time girl he's trying to pick up. And, if Luann was looking for a one night stand with someone she's never going to see again, she's not all that worried about marital status, either, especially if it wasn't brought up and the guy wasn't wearing a wedding band (or wedding band tanline). The point is, that these women talk out of both sides of their mouths when it comes to this type of stuff. Bethenny is technically still married, but yet, it's okay for her to date and sleep around. Ramona was also technically still married when she was looking for love last season. What's worse? Sleeping with someone who didn't disclose they were married, or technically being married and knowingly sleep with someone? As far as Luann's reaction to the "he was married" comment and not seeming that worried about it - well, Luann was very hungover at that point, and I think she really was more concerned about that then some random guy's marital status. Also, what's even more hypocritical is that Bethenny really had no problem with the situation at that time, but now, she's shouting it from the rooftops in the Berkshires.
