  1. I wonder if that would have stopped Bethenny in her tracks for a split second. Unfortunately, with Bethenny, you really don't get a chance to even make a comment or comeback, because that rapid fire assault rifle she has for a mouth will slay you before you know what's what. This is just a general observation of Bethenny, not necessarily pertaining to her conversation with Sonja. However, in that conversation, she started with "I'm going to say what I have to say, and then you can talk". Well, Bethenny ended the conversation with "I'm done with this and with you" (or words similar), got up and walked out. Sonja was able to try to talk through her tears and explain what she could. Which wasn't much, because, face it, Sonja just doesn't worry her pretty little head about "trivial business matters" like distribution, sales, marketability, product placement, copyright infringement, etc., but she never really got a chance to collect her thoughts and possibly had any type of snarky comeback. In Bethenny's defense, that was a good strategy. She had her thoughts and words chosen, delivered them without raising her voice, and then put an end to any further discussion that could have led to a crazy screaming match (Turks and Caicos, for example). She knows what kind of delusional person she is dealing with in Sonja, so it was a good strategy. I'm not always a fan of Bethenny's, but I do have to compliment her on having one of the quickest thinking brains I have ever seen. She almost knows what someone is going to say before they say it, and she is ready with a comeback before the other person even gets the words out of their mouth.
  2. See, this is why I love these boards....your comments and all the others that have been posted here are making me see things from another perspective, and I'm beginning to see things from both sides of the story. :-) Intelligent discussion (even about these stupid shows) is wonderful! :-)
  3. I agree with all your points, but I felt that Bethenny was very harsh with Sonja, especially given that she did this in front of her three employees. That type of conversation was better left to be said away from those other girls. I know the cameras are there, but Sonja is used to that. I think that Bethenny's cutting barbs and insulted tone embarrassed Sonja immensely. As I said, maybe that is what Sonja needs, because she really does need a wake up call about the realities of the business world. Also, I think that Bethenny is talking out of both sides of her mouth. On the one hand, she says she doesn't care about Sonja's prosecco, that it isn't a threat to her business, it isn't in the same league, etc., but then, with her cruel, albeit calm, diatribe and cutting tone, she does make it seem like she cares a whole lot about it. Sonja, for all her idiosyncrasies, has no head for business, of any kind. We all know that she lives in the delusional world that she is still the toast of the town, and she thinks that lending her name to anything is all she has to do for it to be a success (whether a small or large success). She has no idea of how hard it is to establish any type of legitimate business/brand, whatever. Maybe that was what Bethenny was trying to get across to her. While I think that the message was correct, the delivery was harsher than it had to be. Bethenny, herself, said that she is taking this personally, as a personal dig/insult or whatever. So, this is not really about Bethenny being nervous or worried about Tipsy Girl, as much as she is lashing out on a personal level towards Sonja. And, Bethenny can have a seat with all that "I'm all over Page Six AGAIN" bullshit!! She is the one who put herself out there, put all her trials and tribulations, business-wise and personal in the pubic forum - that was her choice, and now she has to live with it.
  4. I think that before Jules hires a new nanny she needs to have a professional organizer and decorator get into that apartment. It looks like a cluttered mess of mish-mash to me!! The layout is awkward and she isn't making good use of the space (large couches, tables, etc.).
  5. Luann moving into Sonja's upper floor apartment was one part of the show that wasn't completely ridiculous to me. It reminded me of the beginning seasons, without screaming matches, amped up drama or b.s. I thought it was hysterical that Sonja was walking around her house wearing a winter jacket - poor Luann must have been freezing! I will agree with Sonja that there is no reason to have the heat on in that part of the house, but, really? She knew that Luannn was coming - maybe crank that thermostat a little, so that your guest will be comfortable?? That seemed like a nice little studio apartment (plus, didn't it have it's own outdoor space) - why hasn't Sonja ever rented that out before? I'm sure she could have gotten a huge amount of rent for that place-a studio with outdoor space on the UES?? I'm thinking premium rent!! (She said that the elevator goes right to the apartment - her tenant wouldn't even bother her....)
  6. They need to take a lesson from Kenya (RHOA) - she has no problem yelling out "Security! Security! This is MY party and I want this person removed!!!"....
  7. I was trying to figure out how Ramona got to that party later than Sonja and Luann, when she had left their dinner way before they did.
  8. Bethenny went for Sonja's jugular during that conversation. The whole "name one distributor" comments as you mentioned, and then, the other comment about "the stores where your clothing line is" - that was just brutal and slaying. No wonder Sonja started crying. She was caught totally off guard, because in Sonja's deluded brain, she really didn't think she had done anything to offend or upset the "girl" word owner. And, to me, what was the worse thing was that Bethenny ripped into Sonja in front of the Skinnygirl employees. That was wrong, rude and unforgiveable. Bethnny said that apartment office had a conference room and a bedroom - why not have that very harsh and personal conversation away from her employees - was this a Bethenny power play? "See, girls, see how powerful I am - I can make a grown woman cry"...it was pathetic on Bethenny's part. I've never seen Sonja cry like that, and it was real. She seemed so deflated when she got on that elevator, with her sad little comment about not being to do pocketbooks because Luann is doing pocketbooks now. And yet, even with all of that, Sonja was still gracious and said good-bye to the other girls. I do have to wonder, though, if this type of "tough love" will finally make Sonja wake up and see that all these stupid, hare-brained businesses are not doing her any favors or will be getting her "back to where she was" - if, and that is a BIG if, she is investing any money at all in any of these things, they will only force her into a ~gasp~ rented apartment, with no room for her interns, only her and her clothes and her Sharpie'd pocketbooks (with no cash in them).
  9. I don't know if the kilts are meant to loosely depict Scottish or Irish heritage, since they are all the same tartan, and I've never seen anyone wear an actual kilt that was cut that short and revealing (that's why I said the theme/decor is "sort of Irish"). I just answered a question that was asked about the type of restaurant the Tilted Kilt restaurants are. Either way, I don't like any of these type of restaurants that objectify women, but if these girls are okay with that, and doing what they need to get by, that's fine. Plus, if they got a free trip to the Mediterranean to hang out on a beautiful yacht, why not?
  10. Regarding Brian and Brandi~~as others have said, it could be a case of the bloom is off the rose, as other posters have mentioned. They have been together since middle school, high school, whatever - so that is what - about 20 years? And, during that entire time, she was obviously the pretty, popular cheerleader, and let's face it - Brian is not exactly an Adonis - I think that Brandi could have gotten a guy that was much better looking; so, she obviously married him for love. He also probably married her for love, but also, because she was a pretty cheerleader. Now, she's not that anymore - she is an average SAHM with all the average mundane things that go along with that, plus all the frustrations (hence, the need for Jesus Juice). He is now coming into his own as a business guy, and working hard at making a lot of money, he may be getting some attention elsewhere because he's got a big bank account (maybe...), and he's realizing that maybe Brandi wasn't such a catch after all. On the other hand, maybe he and Brandi have watched some Bravo TV, even not knowing that the Dallas show would become a RH franchise, and he may have seen how some of the women and their husbands are portrayed and he really just doesn't want his not so great marriage and his even more not so great personality displayed for the Bravo world to see and criticize (as we are all doing, LOL!!!).
  11. Sounds like you know Thomas.....this description seems to fit him to a T (Rav)! :-)
  12. Tilted Kilt is a franchise sports bar, where the theme/decor is "sort of" Irish. The waitresses dress in teeny little kilt-skirts and cropped tops (they were wearing their uniforms in one of the photo shoots). The food is typical chain-restaurant pub grub fare, nothing special. Very similar to Hooters. The franchise very hot right now, with Tilted Kilt restaurants/bars popping up all over. Check out their website - www.tiltedkilt.com. There's a link for "Kilt Girls" and a monthly "calendar girl"....it's interesting, LOL!! ;-) I think some of the girls were in the group on the yacht, including the hula hoop girl.
  13. I agree, but isn't that the premise of the show? Danny is acting like a lovestruck teenager. That scene of he and the Tilted Kilt girl behind the rocks? "I'm going to kiss you now...." - I was waiting for Connie Francis (RIP) to start belting out "Where the Boys Are", and seeing the scene switch to a sunset with the waves crashing over the rocks. I'm thinking that he may be the first one to get a ticket home. He just can't seem to get out of his own way~~he keeps thinking with his lower brain and not the one above his shoulders!!
  14. So, I didn't notice, but did Whitney eat the steaks that Craig cooked, after he bitched and moaned about Craig's grilling skills? I didn't really see what was wrong with what Craig was doing - I know that you shouldn't use the same utensils for raw and cooked chicken, but I've never heard that with beef. Those steaks looked amazing, and I think that Craig is a pretty good cook - IIRC, he did most of the cooking when he, Shep and Whitney went to visit Craig's parents last season, too. Whitney just annoys the hell out of me - he seems like such a sourpuss downer ALL the time!
  15. Ummm...probably because Thomas pays for the nanny? Since Kenzie definitely needs a nanny when she is spending time with Thomas, I would assume that Kathryn demanded requested a nanny all the time, to keep continuity in Kenzie's schedule, especially since Thomas can afford it.
  16. Maybe Kathryn should have gone to Babies R Us and bought a more practical, less expensive crib, and then she wouldn't have had to get a couch donated by Thomas. Hell, with $4500.00, she could have probably bought a crib and dresser/changing table, and had money leftover for moderately priced living room furniture and a dining table and chairs (not lucite!!!) She's on modified bedrest and spending her bedrest time shopping online? She could have found everything she needed within her budget on wayfair.com or overstock!!
  17. That's the first thing I thought of....plus, little tiny fingerprint and footprint smudges everywhere!! I think Kathryn has a thing for lucite, though - she also has lucite dining chairs (Craig was sitting on one before Kathryn received Thomas' "donated" sofa).
  18. I don't know what to think about all of this, and I don't even know why I am still watching this show, LOL!! MJ was beyond drunk at that "retirement" party, and she was being rude. Sometimes, I think she is no better than GG as far as drinking goes, but MJ gets sloppy and rude, where GG gets nasty and potentially violent. Both are not good looks for anyone, ever. Mike and Jessica - well, it didn't surprise me, because I always thought he was kind of an asshole anyway, but I do kind of feel badly for her, because she did so much to be accepted by his family, and it was exactly as she said to the counselor - she changed so much for Mike that she didn't know who she was anymore. Forgive my ignorance, but does anyone here know if it is acceptable in the Persian culture (either old world Persian or modern day) for a husband to step out on his wife, or have affairs, or whatever? I'm not making any excuses at all for Mike, but could he possibly use that as a defense of his actions? One other thing - I thought that GG looked amazing in that red bathing suit at the salt spa - I think she has the best figure of them all!!
  19. Good point - I mean, half of them wouldn't even go to visit their castmate, Alex, because she lived in-GASP!!!-Brooklyn!!! And, didn't Sonja was mention she won't even go anywhere out of the UES (downtown, the Village, Soho, or anywhere??).
  20. Oh, I get that the ratio is slim, and the fact that most men in the Housewives' age group are only looking for a young, hot, trophy or eye candy. But, seriously, I think if these women would maybe venture out of the 10021 zip code, they may have more to choose from. (Well, I guess they're afraid that all they would get would be another John, so, maybe I'd have to agree with them!) Or, maybe, any other suitable and available men see these women and run as fast as they can in the other direction, because they've seen their antics on TV, and really want nothing to do with them? And, yes - I agree. That blind date guy for Carole was extremely good looking and seemed quite normal - maybe that's why that relationship never worked out!
  21. I'm sorry...that was really mean and lowdown, wasn't it? But, it's kind of where my mind goes with Sonja, unfortunately.
  22. With maybe just a hint of "something" else...has Sonja ever said whether she swallows or not? (She has brought up b.j.'s on several different occasions...) Okay - I'm the first one in the handbasket to hell today...there's room if anyone wants to join me! ;-)
  23. Ramona does look ridiculous with those extensions - I think her hair is longer than Avery's at this point. I don't mind long hair at all (I have it myself), but long like hers is not suitable to her face. She looked much better with a shorter bob style. Plus, I wish Ramona would do something about the false eyelashes and massive quantities of mascara and eyeliner. Her eyes look ridiculous.
  24. I think the guy with Luann was one of the two male models that Sonja brought to Bethenny's birthday dinner last season?? I could be wrong, though. They really are an incestuous bunch, aren't they? Between Aviva's ex, Harry, the guy Luann is currently engaged to (supposedly dated Ramona and Sonja, I think), the restauranteur/prosecco maker, Peter (involved with both Ramona and Sonja), you would think that Manhattan is some small, little village somewhere.
  25. I don't miss much about Kristen, but here "O" face was priceless!!
