It is a bit much, but, it is real. Some spirals people never get out of sadly. Honestly, I think we're supposed to just think she did a lot of drugs and drinking and dudes, and is now finally starting to come around again. I don't think there will be much more of a history given to her. I think they'll move on to Darlene and David.

Yes. Throughout the original show, Mark is the only person that Becky ever slept with, or was implied to have slept with.

That is a fair point. We just didn't really SEE any of that, so, I guess it's just because of that. I mean, the worse ( ETA- WORST. Forgive the rest of the typos and grammar errors, but that was bugging me.) thing we actually saw, was her ditching Chip for Swanko, who even Roseanne would have considered leaving Dan for. But, I definitely get your point. I did just picture her going bezerk after Mark died, and was coming from that aspect. She was still in her early 20's so.. She could definitely hook up with her old teachers and stuff. Also agree about her voice.

I'm trying to enjoy this for what it is, and not questioning too much about the past, because it just gets too frustrating. For those who know the show, they are obviously just doing whatever they want, and I'm actually okay with that. I'm side eyeing the Becky being a huge slut thing though.. I did greatly enjoy the little fight Dan and Roseanne had in the kitchen. That brought me back and felt real. Becky's tattoo is Lecy's tattoo, it's not a tribute to Glenn.. It's just a tattoo.. This is so strange, and my brain still doesn't know how to process this show being back, or the fact that people *gasp* haven't seen every episode 200 times! Haha! Still processing.. Michael is so cute, and obviously not an actor, which was clear in teenage days. But, he's just so cute and sweet. I'm very glad he turned into such a good dude.

I have no idea. I still dress like I'm going to Lollapalooza, in 1994. I still enjoy watching Howard and Amy, and the show works well enough as background noise, which is what it has been for a while now. I agree that the actors seem to be over it.

Original Flavor Season Talk: Dinner at Rodbell's
HoboClayton replied to Rhondinella's topic in Roseanne [V]
Yes she can. And it goes right through your soul. Whenever anyone mentions this, I always have to be annoying and implore people to check out the stuff she did in the 60's and 70's. Downright magical. -
I remember watching Evening Shade once in a while when it was originally airing. I didn't remember much about it except that it starred Burt Reynolds. Recently, I have caught a few episodes and have been left absolutely perplexed as to how this show has such a high rating, and how it lasted 4 seasons. It's a talented, diverse-ish cast, but.. What I have seen, makes absolutely no sense to me. It's almost physically painful to sit through. What am I missing? How on Earth did it last 4 seasons to begin with? So many shows from that time were pure cheese. But, this isn't even that. I don't know how to explain it.. How?? Why??

There was always crude and mean spirited jokes. But it seemed raw and real. This is definitely going to look and be much different than the original run. It's been 20 years, and television and media has changed so much.. (Well.. in some ways) This is probably just going to be alright. A nice trip down memory lane, but, that will be about all. And remember, there won't be many episodes, so it's going to flip and change and switch very quickly and often. Still looking forward to it though.

The ghost of Patrick Swayze totally played a little joke on Whoopi. At least, it makes me smile believing that. Hell, maybe even Barbara Billingsley as well! But, not from hell. :p That's all I got.

Original Flavor Season Talk: Dinner at Rodbell's
HoboClayton replied to Rhondinella's topic in Roseanne [V]
David was a teenage boy who was treated like the wimp he was by his girlfriend. Of course he liked it, but didn't let her kiss him. For long. -
I think I may be the only one, but, I cannot stand Ana. I'm glad she stood up against party lines to denounce that nonsense. But, there is something about her that I find just completely opportunistic. She's so full of herself, and speaks like every word that comes out of her mouth is gospel. She reminds me of Whoopi in that way. I'm just not a big fan of her delivery I guess. It's not really personal. Just a visceral reaction. But, then again, I feel that way about so many co-hosts and guests on this show.

Broken record that I am... Megan on her side of the fence sees the state of the country as in full on battle mode. Your sandbox or mine. You cannot have your toys in both. If you say anything that seems remotely positive about the "other side," you are an enemy, and don't fully believe in the cause. The country is about completely cut right in half at this point, and we let the people behind the curtain do it to us. I don't see it ending peacefully. So pick your sandbox, and get ready to fight. And Jesus told me to tell you to calm the hell down Meghan. Damn. "You couldn't drag a needle out of her butt with a tractor" (Roseanne) I find it so completely depressing that seeing a light in this country is getting farther and farther away.

This Never Gets Old: TV Shows You Can Watch Again And Again

Jane Fonda will never be forgiven. Rosie and Kathy and Hillary will never be forgiven. Any time there is a story on any of them, the usual comments come like fire. You have to stick to your side, or you are a traitor. Yawn.

Welp! Okay then! Unsure of how to feel. I guess I'm kind of in the middle. I didn't think I would be okay with Svetlana going away because the relationship between the 3 of them was my favorite part of the show. But, their story line this season was a huge nothing burger, so, it's probably best it's over. Please find a way to incorporate Kev and Vee better next season! They found a way to perfectly seal up a lot of stuff with a nice little bow, maybe next go round Fiona will be a princess or her and Ian will be elected as co-Governors or some bullshit. So tiresome. Still lukewarm on Lip.. I just don't care. Good on Liam though! Smart kid, with his eyes wide open. Good on Carl though! Get the hell out of there! I don't know. Hopefully, it'll be better next season. But, it's probably best they start winding it down. It was a good run. But, I think the well is about dry with this adaptation. I am not happy with Ian and his story, but, it's just better to keep my mouth shut. That actor plays smug prick to a tee though. I'm actually looking most forward to what they are going to do with Liam, Carl, and Debbie, and I never thought that would happen. Sooo! Next season I guess!

Worst of Golden Girls: Your Least Favorite Moments

And her coaching the kids football team was odd but funny. Rose does not like to lose. -
All Episodes Talk: Picture It. PTer. Today.
HoboClayton replied to Stinger97's topic in The Golden Girls
It was also crappy of Rose to call the city inspector about the hot tub. But, that episode is my favorite. Just gold from beginning to end. Right out of the gate we get one of the several throughout the series' beastiality jokes. Rose being traced to the same brother and sister. Rose saying Blanche could end up living in a shoe! (damn it Rose!) Mexican err sorry, Hispanic jumping beans, Dorothy trying to break into her mother's box, another cringey animal joke about Sal loving the dog because he was always sticking his nose where it didn't belong. Them voting out Dorothy is one of my favorite scenes of the series. Dorothy.... Dorothy.... Dorothy..... dorothy... Bahaha! We all voted for you! Blanche finally conceding and making them part owners, while Dorothy and Sophia swap insults while talking about how real their love is. Sophia planning her garden since she is now a landowner. "Gonna raise me some rabbits as big as your head!" And the sweet ending with Dorothy recording the message about how Sophia was a pioneer and the final "Oh come here you tramp!" And they hug. Aww. I just love that episode. Haha.. Sorry, went on a bit of a ramble there. -
Fiona is most definitely hot. But, there is a long trend with all of them, filthy or not, having their junk serviced with almost no questions. Then handed a bunch of cash, then squandering it.. Etc.. Wash, rinse, repeat.

S08.E08: Frank's Northern Southern Express
HoboClayton replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in Shameless
I am disappointed in what they are doing with Kevin and Vee. They are going nowhere with them this season, and that makes me sad. What was the point of Kevin finding his family again?? Ian has driven me to just outright hate him now, so I don't care anymore about his storyline. I've actually liked Trevor that past few episodes. I liked the previously done plot with the anti-gay church better than this time around. The option for Debbie to just not have unprotected sex or get on birth control is just not there, and that's maddening, but true. Carl? You dumb. Fiona, the lesbians, and the carpenter story line?? Okay... The hell?? Does anyone care about Sierra? At all? Genuinely curious. Least entertaining episode of the season for me. -
My God.. The comments on those links. I'm amazed half the population dresses themselves daily. Everyone looks fantastic though. Roseanne looks great!! I am thrilled about Estelle and her plot. It's an extremely unpopular opinion, but, I hope John Goodman doesn't ham it up too much. I think he's great playing normal. But, when he goes too over the top funny or sad, it gets cringeworthy quick. Crystal will be nice to see. But, dear God, I hope they let her be happy. And for God's sake, let her have gotten Sunny out of that damn bridge!! Good on Roseanne for bringing back some important faces. It's been hard for me to get too pumped up for this due to Roseanne's vileness, but, this was my sitcom growing up, so I can't help but be excited. Seems like some of it will be a little too precious for my personal tastes, but, that's to be expected. Please as little of that simpering whimp David as possible. One episode it says. Please God let it be true. Because it will only be David whining. And more whining. Then back to Big Bang, to whine some more. The sibling dynamic between Harris and her gender fluid brother Mark should be interesting. I can see him giving Harris the type of shit Becky used to give to Darlene and vice versa. But in 2018 style. Mark doing a vlog or something, talking to his followers about his butch sister. That could be funny. And Leon MUST make an appearance. Aww, and sweet Scott. Should be interesting for sure! So much to cram into such short episodes which are more commercials than tv shows anymore. It's going to be like a shotgun of information to the face.

I think they swap out partners. I just feel it. I can see Michelle being the first to suggest it too. I've always seen her as being much more the ringleader than is let on.
-
I'm surprised Carl, at this stage, took the risk he did. His whole goal is to earn tuition money, and he easily allows himself to do that huge eye roll which was that ridiculous storyline. Here! Take this large sum of money, you silly Gallagher scamp! And here's a blowjob for your glistening Gallagher genitalia. Frank and crazy border shenanigans again.. Okay. I don't buy the bad girl storyline for Kev and Vee either. They used to do cam shows role playing Thomas Jefferson and Sally Hemmings, along with several other sexy scenarios for God's sake. The at risk youth sure are getting portrayed in a shitty light. But, this show does that. Fiona and the carpenter.. Umm... Okay?? Given this show's history, he probably sticks around turning Fiona's building into luxury apartments for free, while falling in love with her, and opening up another tremendous opportunity that will be squandered. Trevor went up another notch for me tonight as well. Annoying Sierra opening up the door for Lip's relapse, dealing with her situation which is "too fucked up." Should have called the police on Dr. Dick, instead of welding a dumpster to his car which he can easily pay to fix. But, it was funny, so I didn't mind. I love bar guy Tommy. He's always there with his beer, listening to the bullshit, and calling people out. I am liking this season though. Even with all the ridiculous this show is guilty of, it's still entertaining as hell, and the cast really acts the hell out of it. They are a talented bunch.
