Penelope is legit so stunning in many of the those shots, but particularly the one where she smiles as she first meets Lord Debling in the trailer. Just beautiful. And Colin’s first trailer appearance….where he kisses the hand of that young woman…good god what a glow up. I am very very very excited for this season.

That was a rumor from months ago. There is zero chance it would be dropping two days from now without even a trailer or anything at all having been released.

Me too. I enjoy reading books about financial scams and listening to podcasts and following the legal fallout. And financial institutions do not do the due diligence you would expect all of the time. You’d be shocked at what is glossed over, missed or completely ignored due to FOMO and trying to follow the crowd. After the fact it’s obvious but somehow everyone is blinded beforehand,usually by the riches beyond their wildest dreams. The execution may have been clunky but this is not an unbelievable plot point.

There’s a lot of following the crowd and FOMO. Nothing new. These scams are a tale as old as time.

I mean, Oscar isn’t the first banker to make stupid stupid investments. The Big Short, anyone? don’t assume that because someone is a banker or handles large amounts of money means they are sound decision makers. Practically every financial crisis ever proves otherwise.

No one is privy to spoilers. The problem is Julian Fellowes storytelling is TIRED. I feel like a damn magic 8 ball watching this.

I’m sticking with this til the bitter end but I agree with you. It is beyond bad storytelling for the Reverend to say “I have back pain” and me to go, Oh FFS, its cancer isn’t it. AND THEN IT IS. My high schooler could write a better script than that. It’s just beyond amateur hour when we can predict whats going to happen miles before it actually does.

Google Cassie Chadwick, a real life historical figure. There’s some similarities to Maude. I think she is a scam artist.

Mental Figment Diana and Charles broke me. I wasn’t as moved by Mental Figment Diana and Queen Elizabeth. I saw no point to Mental figment Dodi.

I cried through this whole episode. I’ve seen enough documentaries to know this portrayal of Charles after her death is probably fairly close to accurate. Dominic West was sensational.

I’ll flat out say I’m happy there will be a season three. I liked this season much much better than last year.

Totally hilarious of Che to say Miranda brought her husband and son into their relationship when wasn’t it Che’s ex-husband who was LITERALLY in their bed with them? I’m sure Che was getting to that part though [/eyeroll].

She took the .5 neutral deduction for the coach being there which was mentioned. Frankly its a stupid rule that should be changed for safety reasons anyway. They also did note her various bobbles. I watched it. When you blow the field away by 5 points harping over small bobbles makes you look clinically insane.

I likes this so much better when it was a supernatural period piece.

I was well over halfway into the season before I even asked myself “who’s the old lady supposed to be.” Boy, was that bad casting.

I want a win for Sam so badly. He is so funny and adorable! And he has played consistently good games but has come up just a tad short in every one. Come on Sam! that said I am very happy Amy won. She really had a no nonsense game and basically crushed it. Also I was absolutely certain that was an ocelot.

JUSTICE FOR SAM. I seriously hope its corrected. Sam deserved the win.

I really like Amy and Sam. I just can’t warm up to Andrew, sorry buddy. I’m sure he’s a really nice person though.

The preparation certainly shows. I am doing a rewatch and it’s just uncanny.

Yeah, the depiction is absolutely fine and actually improved my opinion of Phillip.

Amy has said she fears Andrew as a player. I can certainly see why.

I like Imelda as the Queen too. When she made the “stinky minke” remark I was like oh I could totally see that family finding that funny as opposed to cringeworthy.

It looks natural to me. And the voice is dead on. So much so I wondered if they used excerpts from the actual Martin Bashir interview.
