  1. Well, Benedict looks the oldest, IMO.
  2. The odd thing is they have literally announced they start filming this year.
  3. I think Benedict’s season will be next because of the voiceover about looking to the future while the camera was lingering on Benedict, having just had the masquerade ball discussion with Eloise. I feel pretty confident about this. And I think they really really need to get his season done because his “journey” this season was just more treading water as he sleeps with everything that moves. They have no idea what to do with him, just give him his HEA already, jeez. I mean, he just discovered his freedom THIS year? (or so he tells Tilley). WTH was he doing the other two seasons? He’s always gallivanted around doing whatever he pleases. I felt actual sympathy for Tilley in that scene and I was generally bored to tears by the entire wasted subplot.
  4. My husband is watching with me. Currently we are on season 2 episode 7. I can say I have had to poke him awake through much of season 1. He thought Simon was a complete dope. He really has enjoyed season 2 a lot more, especially episodes 2-4. Last night we watched episode 6 and my god, was it interminable. Easily the worst episode of the season. But overall, he enjoys the second season a lot more than the first and enjoys the banter and the humor.
  5. Lord Debling wanted to do the Northwest Passage, which at the time was an impossible crossing and likely would have resulted in his disappearance and death. One might say that’s even better, with Pen now being free and a wealthy widow but the estate would pass to the nearest living male relative, and unless Pen had a son by Debling, which is obviously no guarantee, her place is not secure, nor might she be free to remarry especially if Debling just disappears. Who knows how long it would take for someone to be declared legally dead then? I don’t think its as good a choice as it seems at first at all.
  6. What’s really annoying is I still don’t know where to find that music! I don’t see it on any Bridgerton soundtrack, and I don’t see a Bridgerton score either. I would really like to be able to add that music to a playlist so its bugging the heck out of me.
  7. I also assumed she used at least some of it on her new wardrobe.
  8. And that also is what makes me much more interested in her story. I am not into perfect characters who always have pure motivations, and no other layers beyond.
  9. For some reason Lord Remington’s accent was reminding me of one of those two very old vampires from Breaking Dawn that cam in to the battle hoping for some big Volturi war. I still cannot believe that was my first and most enduring thought.
  10. Yeah unlike last season I am really enjoying the Featheringtons this time. I laughed out loud a lot. But I don’t know what to think of the Mondriches. They just seem shoehorned in, I really hope there is going to be some connection to the main storyline.
  11. I wouldn’t be opposed to more episodes. 8 is too few. Why not 10? They have enough subplots.
  12. And also, Debling has been seeing Colin barge in and make scenes and unlike Penelope, he can see that there’s probably feelings there on Colin’s part as well. It’s a brutal way to start a marriage!
  13. Well, she always had read a lot. There had to be something that she read that was maybe not considered proper for young ladies. Her mother does remark that she encouraged Pen not to read specifically because she’d get romantic notions in her head.
  14. It’s interesting that she says to Colin it would have been suspicious if LW had not mentioned it. It’s an odd phrasing and he even furrows his brow for an instant. She almost gives herself away there.
  15. I absolutely love the scene with Colin and Pen under the willow tree. It is amazingly acted….by both of them. It’s one of my rewatch scenes and there are several this season. Romcom perfection.
  16. Re: Colin, I think its supposed to be the point.. Its wildly out of his character and supposed to feel wrong. Can’t agree about Benedict. He does less than nothing for me. His character seems to have no inner life beyond…Maybe I’m an artist, after all there’s naked people in art!
  17. she was so good in that scene. Like she was pitch perfect. I might be the only who just does not care about Benedict or his season. I know he’s the second book but the show has made me far more interested in Eloise and Fran’s seasons. It would help if Benedict had a personality beyond “sometimes artist who likes to screw around.” He has no depth.
  18. Lady Granville’s first screen time was a threesome with Benedict and Madame Delacroix though.
  19. I can buy Colin being angry about what was written about Lady Crane (but even then he was warned by Pen!) and Eloise but what LW wrote about him this season was so freakin’ tame! And perfectly accurate. I would hope that he can get beyond his shock and anger and see that no real harm was even remotely done to his rep at least and that there was truth in the words. I liked the way Debling was handled. I did see several remarks liking Pen and Debling together better and the show very deftly made it clear Debling is not some villain, or heartbroken and gallant, or anything of the sort. A practical man seeking a practical match. And according to what Pen herself tells Colin, out was what she thought she wanted in seeking a husband. But as it turns out, she realizes she needs more. And he cannot offer that. He is not in love with her.
  20. I didn’t think much of any of the books but I just adore the show. I love the beautiful bright colors, the scenery, the banter. I just love Penelope, Nicola is so so good. The only thing I don’t like is waiting another month for the rest of it.
  21. I’m on my second rewatch already so I can’t agree.
  22. Benedict just seems so immature to me. Then again I would never have thought I’d find Colin hot and well, here we are.
  23. Penelope is legit so stunning in many of the those shots, but particularly the one where she smiles as she first meets Lord Debling in the trailer. Just beautiful. And Colin’s first trailer appearance….where he kisses the hand of that young woman…good god what a glow up. I am very very very excited for this season.
  24. That was a rumor from months ago. There is zero chance it would be dropping two days from now without even a trailer or anything at all having been released.
  25. Me too. I enjoy reading books about financial scams and listening to podcasts and following the legal fallout. And financial institutions do not do the due diligence you would expect all of the time. You’d be shocked at what is glossed over, missed or completely ignored due to FOMO and trying to follow the crowd. After the fact it’s obvious but somehow everyone is blinded beforehand, usually by the riches beyond their wildest dreams. The execution may have been clunky but this is not an unbelievable plot point.
