  1. I think it's the shape of her mouth and her slightly disproportionate nose more than a grimace. Best cash cow son-in-law Nathan has the same issue, especially with the mouth.
  2. That's where they got the term "man overboard."
  3. Ofsmuggar will do her damndest* to make sure Smuggar is at all kid weddings, whether the kids want him there or not. I can see her exerting major pressure on her kids. *This, of course, assumes that Anna does not undergo a major change of heart while Smuggar is incarcerated.
  4. I agree that Carter acted inappropriately (and turned into a real putz after his son was stillborn, or actually after his first trip to Africa), but otherwise, I agree with Carter on the kidney-killing-seizure-disorder-drug angle. That girl's neurologist was a spineless, money-grubbing fool.
  5. Those look like drugstore press-on nails, for real.
  6. There are plenty of people who "buy into it" but aren't as vocal as the Duggars. And there are plenty of people who cast enough shade to make a kid feel guilty even if they're not actively trying to make them feel bad.
  7. I don't think Jim Bob or Mullet would treat the Ms differently, to their credit, but I'm wondering more about the non-fundie world, or even the non-Duggar fundie world. Eventually, some Duggar kid is going to HAVE to get a job outside the Duggar fold. I can see people either shunning the Ms because of Smuggar, or trying to save them by offering them refuge and options outside their family. (I hope it's the latter.) I'm from a family where my father hates my late mother, whom he holds responsible for his own profound failings before and after their marriage, and neither parent ever set appropriate boundaries. My sister and I grew up hearing grossly inappropriate things about one parent from the other parent, and our father in particular often told us those things in a way that made us feel that WE were responsible for what the parents did. (It was never Mom or Dad -- it was YOUR MOTHER did X.) No kid is responsible for what their parents choose. That's not fair to any kid, and honestly, it fucked me up well into adulthood. I still can't stand to hear somebody say "your mother" or "your father." (I have no contact with my father now.) I feel sorry for the M kids.
  8. Maybe or maybe not, but it wouldn't prevent Ofsmuggar from getting pregnant. Two different topics there. I wonder if the sins of their father will affect the M-kids' futures. Will anyone, even a fundie leghumper, want to marry someone whose father is a pedophile and convicted sex offender? It isn't as if Duggar is a common name and they can pretend they're not related. How did Tabitha Paine's anal rapist fare between his conviction and his eventual marriage? Did he dive into fundieness because (ignorant) fundies were the only people who would have anything to do with him?
  9. The most surprising thing is that Carlin managed to keep her mouth closed. She must not have perfected her attention-whoring, open-mouthed "surprised" expression then. Jill appears to have used slightly less hairspray than usual. I guess Nurie got to it first.
  10. How is it illegal?( Legit question here.) It's immoral and unethical for sure, but I'm not sure it's actually illegal.
  11. Much better than the straight-ahead shots. She should take note for her wedding pictures, and also practice that closed-mouth smile for her wedding day.
  12. Explain why? I didn't like his cocky attitude or the fact that he looked unwashed and dirty, and dressed inappropriately (I didn't like Ray for the same reasons). I didn't like the way Gates treated Meg or the way he came onto Neela the second he met her (my laptop autocorrected Neela to Veela, which might explain the way her character was written in later seasons). I didn't like the fact that his character was written so poorly that somehow he went from paramedic to intern to running trauma codes by himself in what seemed like a month. YMMV, of course.
  13. It would have been just fine with me if that helicopter had fallen on Gates. What a joke of a character.
  14. ER could have had a great storyline about Corday having postpartum depression after Ella's birth, which could have explained the dramatic change in her personality, her problems with Mark, and so on. The writers really dropped the ball. I remember even at the time thinking that PPD would have been an excellent, timely topic; Ella was born just around the time Andrea Yates killed her children, IIRC.
  15. IIRC, that person also said Smuggar was chronically, unprofessionally late; in other words, he hadn't learned that Duggar Time doesn't fly in the real world. He'll have a rude awakening in prison.
  16. Integrity? The NFL? LOL LOL LOL The lighter-skinned boy in that photo (whose name I can never remember) needs help. He reminds me of newsreels of camp survivors.
  17. It never has, or those craven Bateses would have fewer kids. Kelly used progesterone treatments to maintain pregnancies, and I would bet money Princess Erin used fertility treatments to have her most recent. Tl; dr -- they're all a bunch of lying hypocrites.
  18. The majority are them evil Catholics. Then 20%-ish are those heathen sinners like myself. Or like I, in Jill-speak.
  19. Reality TV isn't real. Seriously, don't take that stuff as real, because it isn't.
  20. It's my opinion that Clooney is overrated as an actor, and it was never more clear than on ER. Your opinions of the other characters are spot on.
  21. Sometimes I think that leaving out the words "getting his picture taken by" would be just as accurate.
  22. Princess Erin had her latest "miracle" child. I give it eighteen months before she announces another "miracle" pregnancy, in an attempt to have another boy. https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-moms/news/bringing-up-bates-erin-bates-welcomes-baby-no-5-with-chad-paine/
