SPN Eye Candy: Drooling Over The Actors And Characters

... I've never seen that ring before. Yes, he's the whole package. It hardly seems fair to every other guy on the planet. -

Well, I guess I'm in the minority but I enjoyed it. They spend too much time on alliance chatter (both on BB and Survivor) so it's a break to just watch them kicking back and talking about something else for a change. And we kind of got some idea how the groups formed and how they related. I had to laugh at the DR clips. All that whining about stuff they needed. I wasn't even going to bother with this CBB, but in an odd way I can't explain, I've kind of enjoyed it. They put together a good mix. I'm hoping it's Ross for the win. -
I never know if I'm posting in the right thread. So apologies if this doesn't belong here. I was going to post in the thread where the brawn/brain assets of the brothers was being debated but this isn't a complaint about the writing (for once). I got to thinking.... the brothers pretty much spend 24/7 together. They've argued, fought, hugged, even died for each other ... but we've never ever seen them kick back, chill out and debate music, movies, sports etc. The brothers are different personalities. If they didn't live in a supernatural world and killed monsters for a living, I think they'd be something akin to the Sam & Dean of 'What is and What Should Never Be'. I've always found it interesting that the Siren didn't tempt womanizing Dean by being a busty beauty. The script surprised me for a change. The Siren assumed the form of a guy. A guy who zeroed in on what would make Dean relax the ever-present vigilance and distrust. We saw an animated Dean in those scenes, chatting about music and interests outside of tragedy and responsibility. It was quite cool to see this side of Dean. And kind of clever of the writers not to go the usual booby route. Also - and I'm only bringing this cuz I'm a Dean girl - but the level playing field fight between the brothers at the end of the episode... Dean won that!!! ;)

These Spoilers Suck: Bitter Speculation About SPN Spoilers

I dunno, maybe there's something wrong with me. But Dean pulling a gun on Kaia didn't seem a big deal at all. There's no way in hell he would've shot a young girl. I could relate. He'd just been told Mother was alive. He's berating himself for not having faith like Sam, and then he's told Mother's being tortured. Remember - Dean gets hot real quick. But he cools down quick too. But, anyway, speculation that Dean might be going dark excites me. It's about time something happened to the actual stars of the show. With all these mustache-twirling characters thrown into the pot I'm expecting a battle or something with many casualties in the finale. They might put Lucifer back into the cage for safe keeping in case they need him again. I'm not expecting the series to go beyond season 14. They need to be building toward a climax now. Hope they don't wimp out. -
That's my take too. They're both extremely bright. But different. Dean's all action but Sam's more into computer research. But there is absolutely no doubt in my mind after 13 seasons that Dean couldn't do research just as effectively or that Sam couldn't fix Baby and do a 180 or whatever. But lately, under Dabb, Dean is being systematically demeaned and diminished. Sam finds him drunk on the floor, Dean can't jump a 4 foot fence, Dean can't fix the colt, Dean can't even eat properly, Dean does the shopping, etc. Little nitpicks.....but almost every episode now. The show has definitely moved into lighter, more tongue in cheek zones, but Sam is never the butt of the joke.

You may be correct. Wish we could see some of those poker games and pool hustling on screen. LOL. Also, they did find a large stash of gold in the dragon episode. As a relief from the constant angels and demons drama - an episode featuring the ordinary ins and outs of daily hunting life would be so interesting.

I think Dabb views Dean a bit differently than past showrunners. I don't think he has the capacity to 'get' Dean. So... thank goodness for Jensen. Crowley admired Dean so much he wanted Dean to rule Hell alongside him. He did 'underestimate' one aspect of Dean, tho. Demon Dean had no aspirations to rule anything. He just wanted to have fun. And don't give him orders either! I do get the impression Death had a certain respect for Dean. It was an interesting dynamic that Billie has continued.

When Dean passed the colt to Sam and asked 'can YOU fix it?' ... that got up my nose. Dean knows guns. Both brothers are presented as having extremely high IQ's. They just have very differing personalities and interests. Sam's the computer geek, not because Dean isn't as smart, but because Dean's an impatient type of guy. He doesn't sit in front of a screen, he likes action. Dean seems to possess a 'spidey' sense that's missing from Sam, while Sam is better at lying and is probably the reason they have funds to support hunting. (I wish I knew their secret in terms of credit card fraud.) The balance between the brothers has been pretty even for the most part. They're both flawed and genius at about the same level. Up until Dabb, anyways.

These people don't seem to grasp how close they are to death.

The other day I watched an old movie with Jack Lemmon - Days of Wine and Roses - he kicks the alcohol addiction but his wife can't. He begs her to get help but she says... "everything is so dirty when I'm sober". This is the issue for all addicts once they've gone through withdrawal. Facing up to life's difficulties without a crutch.

These Spoilers Suck: Bitter Speculation About SPN Spoilers
Pondlass1 replied to catrox14's topic in Supernatural
Jim Michaels once admitted that they have no idea where a season will go. No overall plan. It's all willy nilly and that's why nothing makes much sense. And the format never changes. Introduce a scary, seemingly powerful adversary at the end of the season.... and then spend the following season de-powering and whitewashing said adversary. They've done it time and time again. Especially as the series has moved into more metaphysical arenas. Sam and Dean are no longer ordinary hunters to be sure, but they're not super humans. They have no powers, just grit and luck. So to pit them against superpowers places writers into all sorts of dilemmas and so it all gets really silly, canon goes out the window, and fans must twist themselves into knots trying to explain it all. They need to return to the simpler days of yore. One really big bad that doesn't go gooey as the season progresses. Honestly - what is there for us fans to be biting our nails worried about? The AU idea has fizzled (could've been great). Jack is Pretty Teen Castiel (otherwise known as cinnamon bun), Lucifer is annoying, no one cares if Mary is rescued or not, KFC guy is a joke. Michael is all mouth & trousers. We've got dead characters resurrecting at an alarming rate and grace being passed back and forth. The only intriguing bit for me (and I'm not particularly a Castiel fan) is what the hell is going on with Castiel? Why the closeups of him with odd expressions? Gas? Or is it in the script? - is something exciting actually going to happen with Cas after all these years? And in the middle of this crowded arena we find Sam&Dean who stand about looking gorgeous and concerned, but not much involved in anything. Although I have to admit I'm enjoying this season more than last, despite it all. LOL :) -
I could not let my child live in my home if I knew they were shooting up drugs. David is like a big spoiled baby, but Kirsten has a steely streak in her. If they do both get clean (which I doubt, but fingers crossed anyway) I don't see the relationship continuing.

S08.E10: The Big Apple Bites

The scenes of them running in panic through the rain were fun. I'd rather more of that than the constant tears and arguing about nothing. It's becoming a drag. -
S01.E09: Power of Veto #4; Live Eviction #4
Pondlass1 replied to a topic in Celebrity Big Brother (US)
Me too. Maybe condensed to 6 weeks, something like that? I find the 3 month version begins to drag, especially when there's a Production Favourite (Paul) ruling every vote. I was really enjoying this CBB version, hope they plan another one - but with the rule that if you can't take the heat... you self evict and lose the salary. -

I've got nothing against HGs wanting to go home. But just tell TPTB you want to self evict, pack up your stuff and leave. I want to see people fighting and scheming to stay in the game not begging to be voted out. That's not entertainment ? -

Don't sign up if you can't take it. Why don't these homesick people just leave and not waste an eviction. -

I've been enjoying this Celebrity version right up until last night's episode. The easiest and kindest competition ever. The much ado about nothing Brandi fuss. Omarosa posturing. Constant makeup retouching. It was a boring slow episode IMO. Hope things liven up next time. -
I don't care which night it's on. I'd just like it moved back to 9pm which suits my life better.

Being 600 pounds at 5'2" is very different to 600 pounds at 6'4". I think if the 'leg' had broken under his weight and he became confined to bed, he would have grown some of those disgusting lymphomas and gone up to 800 pounds within a couple of months. He seemed particularly needy emotionally. He didn't want to be a disappointment, but then did things that would disappoint.
