My mother-in-law sent those Christmas letters out for years. One sister-in-law still sends them. My dad hated to receive those generic messages, and I never did one, myself. I just never felt comfortable in thinking my life & that of Mr. X and our daughter, would be of interest to every relative and acquaintance that we had. Plus, the letters were more like bragging, just like I think of social media, nowadays. A short personal note meant more to me. YMMV Pudge has that special snowflake mentality, for sure. Being an only instead of many, really went to her head. Meri treated her as a confidant more than a mother should do, and it backfired on her. Huge mistake.

I thought so too, about the LV house (with the WET BAR) but it was explained to me on this forum that the homeowner's association in the cult-de-sac required a certain number of bedrooms per house, and I seem to recall that it was four bedrooms minimum.) Yeah, I've read that reality shows don't pay huge $ to their "stars." I can't even guess what the Browns get from TLC. But it's like a pro-athlete. Sorry if this has been asked before (I'm just now watching this sad story) but, have we ever seen another smoker on My 600 lb. Life? I smoked in my 20's, got sick, gave it up, and only then did I start to gain weight. Luckily, years later, I topped out at almost 250 pounds, lost almost 100 pounds, and have kept it off without smoking again. If Jeanne has been smoking since childhood, I wonder why it didn't keep her from gaining hundreds of pounds? Jeanne reminds me of a woman I saw at Weight Watchers 5 or so years ago. About that age, dark hair, glasses, and obviously over 500 lbs. I more recently saw her at a local grocery store, and besides filling the cart on the mobility chair, she had another woman with her, filling up a regular grocery cart. Jeanne's poor mother! She's probably in her 60's (as I am) but looks at least 10 years older. And, I can't help but think mom is back on duty feeding her unfortunate daughter. Losing her husband (or boyfriend? I thought Jeanne said they were never married) on top of her own surgery and other issues, I can't think of a more sad episode.

Interesting, at the time Brady Williams "only" had three wives. But before their show, he "felt called" to take two more wives? If three are "celestial" enough to get a man's own planet, it seems odd that he would take two more. Or Kootie, taking on #4 Robyn. If we've heard their version of the truth, Meri can take the blame for bringing in her eventual usurper. Karma? You make the call.

Isn't that what Mitch is, as well? Hopefully then, he's not depending a lot on TLC money, a la Kody Brown. True. Being weatherbeaten and all that physical labor takes its toll. My father-in-law was a carpenter for years.

Sorry, I'm sticking with my story that they ALL live too high on the hog. I mean, good grief. Meri could easily have rented an apartment or condo that would require less $ and way less upkeep. She travels all the time selling her shitty clothes, anyway. Robyn could do with a 3 or 4 bedroom house. She and Kootie, 1 bedroom. The girls in another, and since Day-un is in college and probably even a dorm? there, King Sol could have his own castle/room, and share when big bro is home. Christine actually is making house payments (I think; didn't they buy what she's living in?) so even she's making more sense than these renters, just throwing money away when they could save some toward their DREAM HOMES on the dirt they bought. Janelle? Well, she could do with an apartment or condo, too. Most of her kids are up & out. Of course, dear nature girl J would be happy in a hut with dirt floors, eh? 😄 Yes, Meri is way too extravagant, but she isn't the only one. And I do give her credit for making money on her own, although why she has any buyers with her snottiness is beyond me.

Aspyn Brown's weddingk airs Sunday. I'll be looking for Vanessa among the invitees. Of all the families on this show, if I had to pick one, it would be the Alldredges. They seem very low-key and nice. Do you know how Jeff makes his living? If it's been posted here, I missed it.

So do I, MFM! Vanessa definitely could do way better, and she wouldn't even have to give up wearing a bra or wear that bindi that these pretentious people require.

That dear little girl has been largely ignored and neglected, in favor of King Sol and now AriMay. I shouldn't wonder she'd try and get attention any way she could, even acting babyish like Sol, as Sandy posted above. No idea about the kidney failure affecting her learning ability, but it wouldn't surprise me.

I agree. So far, they've been masters at doing things ass-backwards and I feel sure their credit rating sucks. Lenders probably love sticking it to them as far as exorbitant interest rates and digging a deepening hole, that they'll never crawl out of. Being pregnant made my slightly wavy hair to full-on curl. I've learned to appreciate my curly hair. My friends are envious. I can color without drying my hair out excessively, if I permed on top of color, it would be damaging. I like Abbie's hair and shorter length.

I too had Depression Era & WWII parents. My dad made a good living, but mom always had a rag bag. I didn't grow up poor, but they both did, and thus even at a young age I didn't take my upbringing for granted. I have trees, too! Mr. Xword and I were able to retire earlier than many in our age group, because we lived under our means. Our house is old, but it was paid for in full before we retired. Same with our vehicles. Pudge is definitely an entitled brat, due to her narcissistic parentage. She thinks she is all that, just like Ma & Pa do. I have a very low tolerance for entitled peoples' bullshit. Snarking here is good for my soul. Kohola, you are not intolerant in my book.

Spiders are OK, except for Black Widows and Brown Recluses, which we have in our neck of the woods. The treehouse looked really nice.
