I live in the Chicago area and watching this episode was like watching the 10:00 news. I like all the Chicago shows, but I want fiction, not more BS political statements about cops. All Chicago cops are not bad and Chicago is not Chi-raq! UGH!

YAY EDDIE!! I loved this episode and it was because of Eddie!! Knew the DEA guy was dirty right from the beginning. New guy story line was pretty weak. Every cop, that finishes the academy is not cut out to be 5-0. He didn't even say "When you are ready" I'm all for giving a vet a chance, but that was just fantasy-land. But that's ok, cuz Eddie made it and was AWESOME!! No way is McGarrett giving that dog back!

I thought we were done with Brian drama? Total gagfest!

What happened?? Last season I actually looked forward to it and had no trouble staying engaged. For a season opener, this was such a snoozefest. I found it hard to stay awake! Hope it's not going down the tubes....................

It really makes zero sense that none of the CFD died in that fire. Not saying i wanted them to, but after that being the cliffhanger, it's a little too pat. How many though Casey died? That was the set up for that medal he got. Showing his pic I thought he was a goner!

Wouldn't the parents be brought up on charges for what they did to Cora and disposing of Phoebe like that? Did I miss something? When he apologized to Cora in the house, that's practically a confession. Also her husband didn't look too happy that she'd be home in 2 years. Overall not bad, but this was at the most a 4 hour story, not 8. They could have had 2 2 hour shows to tell this story.

Agree. I am steering away from J, just because it seems like they want us to think that.

I don't think anyone dislikes Lena. She's just an interruption to the story line. Worrying about who's going to watch her is out of place in a story about a crime family imploding. Craig saying that to Deran is just demonstrating his limited intellect. I don't think Deran actively dislikes her, it's just an inconvenience. Was I the only one who thought Pope shot Baz? I know it seems weird after he was begging Baz to shoot him, but Pope is so filled with rage and has deep seated hatred for Baz. And he's borderline nuts! Just a thought................

I'm finding Craig and Deran much more interesting than before. They seem like they only 2 who are acting like brothers/family. They fight but their bond and loyalty remain strong. Baz cares about no one but himself. And as you and others have said, J is still a mystery. I think he ends up being the only one who walks away whole at series end.

You make good points Chaos Theory. He's pissed at the inconvenience. He is swamp scum! And I actually though of him as the intelligent, reasonable one last season.

OK, that makes me hate him even more!

Wow! A couple of my disjointed thoughts: Why is Baz telling sidepiece that they should have been together 10 years ago? although he has the morality of a cockroach, he did seem to genuinely love Catherine. That comment seemed to come out of left field. Nikki, Nikki, Nikki! You are as stupid as you are annoying!! Walking into a gun store and telling the owner/associate that you don't need him to get a gun? YOU WALKED INTO A GUN STORE FOOL! The only one possibly dumber than her is Craig who actually thinks she should play a role in the boat heist. I had a glimmer of hope for him to have some functioning brain cells before that, but to even consider that means he is hopeless. Also, what does he see in her? She's not very attractive, not very smart and average to below average in every way. Smurf is going to come unglued with the storage room incident. I can't even imagine the terror that Baz will face! Although far-fetched, I really am enjoying this season and bummed that it's almost over!

I loved this episode! J making the skank jealous and his line about "screwing my dumbest uncle" was hysterical! While I do think Craig is dumb as a doorknob most of the time, a few days of being clean and sober do make him seem smarter than usual. Maybe he is something more than eye candy? Agreed!! I feel sorry for Deran because as hard as he is trying, this will not end well for him.

I love this board and the people!! I have forgotten a lot of what happened in the earlier seasons and you guys are a wealth of info! Love you guys!

OK, so I know I will sound heartless, but am I the only one who doesn't care that Scarlet lost the baby? She really wears on me! And I really hate the way she dresses like a nun or a 12 year old, depending on the day.

Stabler added a lot to the show and was a great character for a long time. They kind of ruined him with the writing, but overall I would welcome him back! Chris Meloni is a very talented actor.

Craig is hot as hell but dumber than a rock! Wonder where he gets his looks from since Daddy is no eye candy even in his younger days.

They were all kinds of awesome!! I was beginning to think they had dropped that storyline, so that was a great surprise! Smurf must have said something horribly humiliating in her speech. You could tell he was just cringing when she was speaking. Loved the episode! On a purely superficial note, how hot is Craig??? Biggest loser of them all but he's burning up the screen!

I was literally screaming NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO at the TV. I thought for sure they were going to kiss and there would have been projectile vomit all over my couch!
