I was okay with it because I saw what they were trying to do. They were trying to show that entertainment and spectacle transcend time and place, and I thought using modern music was a fantastic way to do that.

I like that Baez realizes that Danny is Henry's mini-me, even if Danny won't admit it. Jamie looks great in that leather jacket, and I enjoyed his storyline. It makes me wonder what Frank was like when he was in Jamie's position. I don't hate Nicky as a character, but I do her frustrating. The writers need to find a characterization and stick to it. If they want to show she's turned a corner and is now thinking seriously about becoming a police officer, I'm on board for that storyline, but this week undoes that. I'm also annoyed that Jack and Sean are totally neglected. Why is Nicky the only grandchild who gets to have storylines? The boys are both in high school, the writers could do some interesting stories with them. This show has always been conservative, and that's fine, but it feels like the show has become more conservative over the past year or two. Did they get new writers or do you think it's something esle?

I would love to see Cassandra and Jenkins tethered, if it's possible. I do not know if the tethering has to be a guardian/librarian pair. Judson and Charlene were tethered, but the connection to Judson was lost accidentally, and Charlene intentionally cut her ties to the Library. Currently, no one is tethered, which is why they have the problem. Things seemed to be fine with just Charlene, so maybe they only need one, in which case Jenkins, as a former Librarian and once again mortal, will tether once again becoming immortal. I thought for sure the museum woman would be the widow or somehow behind the supernatural, but I was okay with being wrong. I hope Jenkins and Cassandra are the pair that get tethered. I feel like they have spent the entire season setting it up. I love seeing Stone and Jones bicker and fight like brothers. It's always good for a quick comic moment. I was impressed with Cassandra's high tea as well.

What I found most annoying about the Florence storyline this week is that she's perfect for Sly. Let Walter and Paige be a couple. Let them do couple things and have Walter try to figure out how to be part of a relationship. It's not that I want everyone paired off, but I hate drama for the sake of drama and that's what I feel like the Florence storyline is headed towards. Just have Florence and Toby explain to Paige what happened, and I'm sure she'd be fine with it.

I just want the 1994 version back on the big screen for a release. They did it with "Lion King," "Beauty and the Beast" and others in the past few years. I loved it as a kid. My favorite sequel was "Return of Jafar."

If the show lasted 4 or 5 more seasons, it's possible (especially because it doesn't seem like anyone on this series has a big movie career that the show is interfering with). If Nicky came into college with AP credits from high school and took classes during the summer (both of which are possible,) she could graduate in three years, which would make next season (season 9) her final year of college (she'd graduate after three years). Three years of law school would mean she would be done at the end of Season 12. She could take the bar off screen between Season 12 and Season 13, and start off Season 13 as a public defender. Part of the reason I suggested public defender is that I thought it was more in keeping with who she was and would make family dinners much more interesting. It would be fun to have her completely mess up her first case (because it's her first case and people make mistakes), and then at Sunday dinner have each adult talk about a mistake early on in their career. Frank's words of wisdom would be something like, what you learn from the mistake is what's important.

Yes! This is exactly my problem. It seems so out of character for her to suddenly change. I wouldn't describe Nicky as flaky, just young. Jamie is also liberal, but he seems smarter, although that could just be because he's older and more experienced. The way she tends to speak up for victims, if she goes to law school what about putting her in the public defender's office? It seems more in keeping with her character and who she is.

What is STAPH? I have a theory on why it's "Between the sheets." Either the writers room on this show is older than most shows or because they know the show's audience skews older, they write more to that demographic even if it's dialogue for the younger characters.

I loved that Baez had this whole grand plan for her future, even if it is more fantasy than reality. I thought it was kind of sad that Danny didn't allow himself the same. I thought he'd at least mention grandchildren or seeing his sons grow up to be happy. Anthony creating a feminist fairytale was wonderful.

I know Nicky's at Columbia University and since I couldn't remember when she started, I looked it up for you. She's currently a junior. As far as I know, they have not revealed her major. I totally agree with you that the way they've written her having her be a police officer doesn't make sense. Also, I love that everybody at the 12th is basically just "get a room, request new partners, and be a couple already" to Eddie and Jamie (maybe not in that order).

Dear CBS: Please Reboot These 1991 Sitcoms
Sarah 103 replied to Primetimer's topic in Murphy Brown [V]
I like the idea of a show about Avery Brown in news. He would be either be on air talent at a CNN type place, or working on the digital side of a major news organization. -
I agree with most of this. Nicky should not be a cop. I just can't see it. The only one this makes any sense at all if is they plan to give Nicky the cop on the beat storylines so they can promote Jamie. The part I disagree with is the experience question. Before the police academy Jamie went to college and law school. Nicky will be going in with a college degree. It's not a drastically different experience table. Also, I'm really bad at math, but wouldn't Nicky have been old enough to go to Joe's funeral? She would already know about the risks/dark side. It's not like she would have been a little kid. I'm pretty sure she would have been old enough to understand what had happened and what it meant. I second @Magnumfangirl's question. What exactly is the Explorer program and how did the show get it wrong?

I like your original idea. She has the license but for one reason or another no one will hire her. Most of this works for me. I don't think you need the part about the gemstones being high-tech. Remingston Steele could be an all around thief, conman, and hacker. If I were running a network, I'd greenlight this, expect for the part about avenging her father's death. That's too much like Castle and that ended up taking over the show in the later seasons.

S01.E11: Demons, Sunday School, and Prime Numbers
Sarah 103 replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Young Sheldon
I enjoyed that Mary was really the only one concerned about Dungeons and Dragons. Tam's family has lived through far worse and see it as a harmless game. Billy's father is worried about his son experimenting with homosexuality, so as long as everyone is keeping their pants on, he's fine with the game. Missy's wave during her introduction was adorable. There has to be an episode with her in a beauty pageant, because it's the south/Texas and it would be funny. -
S04.E08: And the Hidden Sanctuary
Sarah 103 replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in The Librarians [V]
The kid could totally be a Librarian someday, but I've felt that way about most of the kids that have had a significant impact on the plots of episodes. -
This is why Penny should be part of a new Professor Proton show. Even though she doesn't understand it, she can say it as if she knows exactly what she's talking about.

It's possible. Howard's mother could have had a sister and depending on the age difference Wendy could be his aunt or cousin.

It felt like there was a deleted scene with his plot. I wished we had seen a press conference where he has to clarify his views on drugs. I agree. With two super serious plotlines, it would have been great to have something silly and funny that still fit the overall theme/topic.

The Soviet Union is No More: Casting News, Story Arc Info
Sarah 103 replied to parandroid's topic in The Americans [V]
As long as Oleg is alive and part of the series, I'm set. -
I would love an episode where one of the plotlines focuses on Garrett, Baker, and Sid. Baker should be given far more to do, and I loved the scene in a recent episode where the three of them were talking to each other. It was a fun dynamic to see and one I'd like to see more of.

This now officially has to happen. The episode is a mix of flashbacks to events that happened before the series started that we haven't seen and interviews with various people. It would be fantastic and a unique take on the typical clip show.

For the first half of the show, it felt like a rerun. It was like I'd seen all of this before. The second half was a definite improvement. I liked Jamie's story during dinner, but I wished they had found a way to work him into one of the plotlines this week.

Christy is not in law school yet. She has 5 months of college before she is done. I find this timetable odd, but if she was going to school year round and some of those classes were online, than maybe it's possible. I'm also willing to accept that it's TV and roll with that. Violet is living with Luke (an ex-boyfriend she got back together with) and Roscoe is living his father and his father's wife/Roscoe's stepmother. This would be fantastic for an episode! This has so much room for humor. Depending on what questions there are, it could lead to a ton of flashbacks of events that happened before the series started.

Season Two: Introducing Mildred, the Loft and the Auburn
Sarah 103 replied to Bastet's topic in Remington Steele [V]
I want that car. When my father confused this show with Moonlighting and talked about the great car, I thought he meant the Auburn, but he was talking about Maddie's BMW. -
Remington Steele: Hoisted by His Own Canard
Sarah 103 replied to Bastet's topic in Remington Steele [V]
I know. In college one of my friends had a serious thing for Pierce Brosnan, so on Valentine's Day we watched a whole bunch of episodes on DVD. She said she'd tell her friends she spent Valentine's Day with Pierce Brosnan. Also, for her birthday or some other holiday I gave her an 8 by 10 of him. If memory serves correct, his tie was was loose and hanging around his neck and it was a bit steamy. I think this show may have contributed some traits to my ideal man. He has to know classic movies, he has to look good in a suit or a tux. His line "I want a woman I can work with and play with" may have made me melt a little when I first heard it.
