  1. I have a degree in history, but I cannot resist this joke: dark ages, 1950s, give or take some inventions and plauges, what's the difference? My guess was that Flynn had spent more time in the Library and had more memories, which made for a stronger connection. I had the same thought. When Jenkins didn't appear I yelled at my TV "What?" followed by "No!" Once I saw Flynn with the book I knew things were going to be okay. My theory is that Nicole was behind the whole One Librarian thing, because that's really what set the Librarians against each other, which was cruical to her plan. I think she somehow manipulated Dare. I think these two reasons are the most likely explanation for why he kept his memories and why they were so much stronger. I agree with both of these points. I'm totally okay with them doing a variation of Dallas, because Jenkins is back! I love this theory. It makes perfect sense. The only stories that changed/didn't happen were the ones with Nicole. However, it's worth noting that anything involving time travel will make your head hurt if you think too much about it.
  2. So your version is setting up a high-tech version of White Collar with a female lead. That could work. Who is her government handler? I'm thinking possible spin-off here. That was my thought too. (Also, let's go screw).
  3. As you get older what you say about yourself changes. Also, in the OT he was trying to sell them on the idea he could get them from point A to point B as fast as possible, because he suspects they're in trouble and want to make a quick getaway.
  4. I came up with another idea for a story. Flashbacks to thier first/early days in different positions. I would love to see Erin's first case. It would be fun to see Danny's first day walking a beat. I would also like to see Frank or Henry's first day as detective or commissioner (Frank's first day as detecitve/Henry's first day as commissioner or Henry's first day as detective and Frank's first day as commisioner). Also, why don't they tell us anything of what Frank was like earlier in his career. Henry has told a ton of "in my day" type stories so we have a pretty good idea of what he was like, but we have almost idea of what Frank was like. I picture him being like Jamie, but I would love to hear stories from him. I understand him for whatever reason not wanting to tell those stories to his family, but he could tell them at the office to Baker, Sid, and Garrett.
  5. I really liked what Jamie said during dinner when he mentioned he thought about becoming a teacher. I liked that they raised the idea in the context of serving the community. I think Jamie could have been a good teacher. I hope Nicky was listening, because she if wants to help the community, there are many ways to do that.
  6. I love that we got "Soft Kitty." That was one of the highlights of the episode.
  7. I thought for sure the joke was going to be Stone was playing chess with himself, but I loved that he was playing against Cal. I didn't know Cal could play chess. Also, it was adorable that Cal favors the knight.
  8. I love the idea, but you have to be called to be a librarian. It's like a Hogwarts letter. Jenkins never got the letter calling him to a librarian. He works there, but as he has said many times, he is a caretaker, not a librarian.
  9. If that's the subplot, than the episode takes place on a Saturday. It's the day of the dance. Ralph is upset because Patti's going with someone else, and the team is trying to take his mind off it with varying degrees of success. An urgent case comes in and the team is off to save the whatever/stop the horrible thing from happening. Ralph has a key role in the success of the mission. At the end of the night (and this job ends very late at night). Cabe says something about, "Bet you don't feel too bad about missing that dance now." Ralph agrees.
  10. I refuse to beleive that Jenkins is dead. This is some sort of strange alternate reality and based on the preview for next week, I'm sure when they set things right it will somehow end with Jenkins being alive and well. I don't know how they'll pull it off, but I'm sure they will.
  11. I played that game with my friends in college when we orderded Chinese food and it didn't add to sexual tension. It's just a silly game, and everyone knows it's just a silly game. It's more about pointing out how silly fortune cookies are and having a bit of laugh. No one takes it seriously in my experience.
  12. CNN has a great track record so I'm looking forward to this. The era facinates me. Is anyone else looking forward to this, or do you think the topic is overdone?
  13. I came to the show late and was first introduced via the DVDs of the series. Leo's line about alcholics in Mensa really resonated with me. Someone a year ahead of me in high school was brilliant. He was already taking college level math courses while still in high school. He was on debate team, math team, academic decatholon, he knew the rules/conventions about getting dressed up (which at the time I found impressive). During my junior year I found out he was an alcholic and it really surprised me. Somewhere along the line I got the (totally wrong) idea that young people who were alcholics were constantly drunk and almost failures. Leo's one line helped clarify the situation for me as well as explain it.
  14. YES! This is why I always get upset when I see t-shirts that are Lyman/Other Name (Insert Election Year). Lyman is not on the ticket. It should be Seaborn /Other Name (Insert Election Year). Josh isn't the guy. He's the guy behind the guy.
  15. There's a character I would love to see the show bring back. I can't remember his name, but he was the Jewish police detective Danny worked with in "Under the Gun." I could see this being the series finale. It opens at a funeral. You see a wide shot of the mourners, but from the back so the only face you see is the preist. He's talking about the years of service the deceased gave to the NYPD and mentions serving as police commisioner. You think it's Henry's funeral, but then the camera reveals that it's Frank's funeral. I don't know if Catholic funerals have a picture of the deceased or not. You could show that as the reveal, or pan across the mourner's faces and one of them is Henry's.
  16. That's why I thought Danny's dreams for the future would have involved his sons, things like watching them graduate, or seeing them grow up to be good people.
  17. I enjoyed this episode. As soon as one of the characters said, 20 triangles, I knew the answer was going to be 20 sided di. On a similiar note, as soon as I saw the flashing lights I thought DDR.
  18. @NJRadioGuy-I have a serious and honest question for you. Have you ever seen a police procedural that you thought was accurate or did a good job of showing what happens in the real world? It seems like this a genre where what you see on TV and what happens in real life are worlds apart.
  19. I can understand Chunk getting low grades based on the work he submits, like if his writing isn't up to par, he isn't using the proper format, he isn't using the right terminology, and stuff like that. Giving Chunk low grades because the professor doesn't like his day job seems wrong.
  20. I love this idea I totally agree with this. I wonder if there's a way to combine these two ideas. Maybe Jack or Sean is doing a video project for school and gets permission to shadow Sid or Garrett, or he does interviews with a number of people at 1 PP.
  21. I wished the dinner conversation would have gone into that more, with Jamie taking a larger role in the conversation and bringing up some of the Supreme Court cases, because he does have a law degree. Jamie talking about what are the limits of free speech. Danny counters with, it's destruction/defacing government or public property. Done-no need for fancy Constitutional stuff (and an amen from Henry). If that's what they want to do, that's fine, but they need to get everybody on board and write that way. One episode makes it seem like Nicky was going to be a police officer and the next episode shows she's totally unsuited for the job. At least address that in universe (the fact that she thought it's what she wanted, but after thinking about it some more, changed her mind).
  22. The Whiz kids didn't do it for me, but I do want more of Ralph's crush on Patty. I think his geek love is adorable. I want to see him go to team Scorpion for love advice. Sly has been married, Toby can tell him all the psychological/psychological markers, and Cabe can tell him the way he was it was his day/the old fashioned way. This episode, it was so cute seeing him get the "I carried a watermelon" moment.
  23. We'll have to agree to disagree about whether or not the show has become more conservative. I will agree with you that they have started to use more political buzzwords and work in more current issues. I'll admit I'm not 100% up on the latest language protestors use, but Chrissie's rant struck me as something out of touch writers would think a twentysomething activist would say. It's sort of the modern version of the hippies on Mod Squad or the 1968 version of Dragnet.
  24. I wish Sean and/or Jack would get a proper storyline (or more of them. There's no reason now that the boys are older Nicky should be the only grandchild who gets storylines). I want a flashback to Danny and his generation as kids or teenagers. I also want a flashback of Frank as a cop walking the beat in the early 1970s or as a detective later on in his career. Based on stories told, we pretty much know what Henry was like, but I do not have a good sense of what Frank was like earlier in his career.
