Same here. Like @muffkins, I was pretty sure the plot twist was going to a brother he didn't know about after I saw the promo.

I love this. It's perfect. I can picture Danny's case intersecting with a case at Jamie's precinct. Danny thinks getting what he needs will be easy. He is shocked when Jamie says no and reaches furious when Jamie pulls rank. The argument is loud and can be heard by most people close by. The other officers are impressed that Jamie is willing to stand up to his super-cop older brother. They know Danny's reputation and can't believe the boy scout is actually standing up to him, saying no, and not backing down.

I think they already brought it up at dinner, but it was a quick mention. I love the idea but how do you make it a significant plot point?

S02.E05: A Research Study and Czechoslovakian Wedding Pastries

I was thinking about how well Missy can read people. Can you imagine how amazing she's going to be in a few years when boy/girl issues start becoming a big thing at school? She will know who everyone likes and whether or not the feeling is mutual. -
I think the term "mansplaning" is overused as you pointed out in your last sentence. That is especially true if it's a co-ed group. Also, if they speak to you exactly the way they would speak to a male colleague, then it's not mansplaning. However, I do think mansplaning exsists as a real thing. It's giving a name to a practice and experience many women have faced. This isn't as out there as it seems. If another University really wants her, either because they want to expand the department, or they think her cutting edge research will give the University a reputation for being a place where new exciting things are happening, or because they admire her work, or becasue they've been getting complaints that they don't have enough women in STEM and know she is highly qualified, the University might be willing to pay for her materials.

Agreed. I thought the ponytail was a fantastic touch that really sets the era. Also, it shows that Missy is interested in fashion and following trends. I didn't like the way George handled it. He should have explained they were setting most of the money aside for college, but agree to add a dollar their allowence. We then could have had a fun scene of Missy trying to negotiate (in small incriments, like 25 cents). Mary was worried George wasn't spending enough time with Missy, so he agreed to do whatever Missy wanted for a night. She wanted to go to Red Lobster. I thought it was so interesting that what she wanted was a taste of the grown-up adult world. She wanted to go to (what she thought of as) a fancy dinner. They can send Sheldon off to college and keep the show. It becomes main plot/subplot in different locations. You have what Sheldon is doing in college and what is happening at home. Yes! I really want more scenes of Mary and Missy as a result of this. I would love to see them doing a girls' day or a girls' night out. -
I agree. It was fun to see Avery's show and I hope we see more of it. Same here. I love Jim and I was dissapointed with his appearance. Hopefully they will make better use of the character in his other appearances on this series. I don't see Murphy agreeing to appear on the Wolf network, but I love the idea of Avery and Murphy co-hosting something or working on some type of project together. I agree. It felt like something from a 1970s sitcom. It just didn't work for me at all. I had the same feeling about the crane shot of Murphy and Avery that ended with the episode. It just felt too sitcomy, and I love sitcoms. That specific shot felt like something from a cheesy 1980s family sitcom. Yes to both. The couch scenes with Avery and Murphy are great and I hope we see more of them. And now to take a dip into the shallow the end of the pool. If they keep putting Avery in those tight t-shirts when he's relaxing at home, I will be very happy.

My guess, and this is only speculation, is that Bonnie is going to hire Tammy as an assistant and give her a discount on rent in the building. There may be an apartment that is available soon. I do not want Tammy to become a regular character, but I wouldn't mind seeing her every once in awhile.

Sheldon for the win. What did Raj do that was even close to what Sheldon did? Raj not wanting to share the spotlight is totally different from what Sheldon did. I love this idea. It would have made a fantastic two part episode. You also could have extended the Raj Howard subplot and carry that over as well. Show them fighting and then show them making up at the planitarium show (just as we saw in this episode). That was without question, the best thing about the entire episode. That was adorable and wonderful, but I wished it had been in a different episode. I think it was just bit of silly fun and a cheap laugh. It worked for me and didn't make me think Penny was stupid. She couldn't process it in words, she needed to actually see it and walk it for it make sense.

The only nitpick I had was that Helen as Elastagirl should have been wearing a helmet while on the Elastacycle. They could have put cool gizmos and tech into the helmet. Yes to all of this. I agree that Edna is best in small doses, but it would fantastic to build a series of short films around her.

Robin Williams was fantastic and a rare talent. That being said the Genie only has one song and it isn't too hard. It doesn't require a significant vocal range or anything too demanding vocally. It doesn't seem too far removed from "Rock Island Line" or a slower version of a Gilbert and Sullivan patter song.

Thank you for saying this. I was confused about what happened. It seemed so strange, but your answer works perfectly.

When I first heard the music late at night, I thought Bull was imagining Cable's presence, so I surprised to find out there was an actual real person in the office late at night. I'm surprised Cable's mother was the only person involved in the lawsuit. I would have thought relatives of other people killed would have wanted justice. My guess is that it was a budget thing and they didn't want to pay for more characters and they didn't want to waste screen time rounding up the other victim's relatives.

I was okay with them being partners, but Jamie being her boss is just wrong and a bad idea on so, so many levels. I agree with the storyline being stupid for the exact reason you mentioned. I would love to see Eddie working with someone new. It would be interesting to see Jamie having to figure out for himself who he could trust at the new precinct. I have a theory that Jamie is Frank's mini-me and Danny is Henry's mini-me.

S02.E04: A Financial Secret and Fish Sauce

I don't think that's true. There was that really sweet scene of Mee-Maw with Missy and Georgie in the car and I didn't get the sense she was favoring Missy over Georgie. It seemed like she was trying to go out of her way to do a small something to make Missy and Georgie feel special and appreciated, because Sheldon tends to get more attention than this other siblings. Missy is fantastic. She loves watching the chaos around her. I'd love to know what she's like in class. Is she one of the quiet ones struggling along or is she a bit of smart-mouth or class clown type. -
If you get Antenna TV, you can watch the original series. It's not a 12 episode season the way cable has 12 episodes and that's it for the season. On network, which is what Murphy is on, it's a 23 or 24 episode season. The network orders 12 episodes for a new series, and then if they like it and it's getting good ratings, they will ask for another 12. A network season is actually 24 episodes.

I didn't see this show first run so I'm watching it for the first time on Antenna TV. I can't wait to watch Jim try to buy pot. That sounds like comedy gold. Murphy and Jim had a great relationship. I always thought that "Slugger" was such a great nickname. It was Jim's way of letting her know she was accepted and one of the guys.

Adam's Bar should be named Fall Guy. I don't know what the date for the wedding is, but I'm willing to bet money something is going to go wrong with the outdoor venue and they willl end up holding the wedding in the newly renovated bar. Because it's TV Land, the bar may not be ready to open, but they will be able to use it as a wedding venue. Also, I think I missed something. Why can't Christy go to her regular meeting? Does she have a class at that time? I miss the regular meeting. I hope they soon have Christy back with the others.

That scene was wonderful. Also, they need to put Avery in a shirt like that again, but not when it's a big emotional heart to heart type scene. I did not like the biometric feedback at the end of the subplot with Frank and the app. Having thoughts and feelings and acting on them are two different things. Frank can think whatever he wants when a woman passes by. If he doesn't make unwanted physical contact or catcall her, then as far I'm concerened, there is no issue. Once when I was in graduate school I was thinking about pursing a relationship with another classmate. We had only spent time together as part of a large group and I wanted to get to know him better. I found out he was married and felt awful. One of my friends pointed out that I hadn't done anything wrong. I hadn't hit on him or made any sort of advances. Thinking something and doing/saying something are two totally different things.

Adoption laws and rules started to change in the early 1960s. In the 1950s agencies were incredibly picky. The child had to match the parents in terms of nationality and appearance before the agency would place the child with the parents. Also, agencies were reluctant to place children with older parents or less affluent parents. All of this changed during the 1960s, well after Ralph and Alice would have been adopting.

I'm just quoting my own response from earlier in the thread because it's easier.

It's in the US, we're not talking about a crazy long international transatlantic flight. All you would need is one week when Murphy Brown is filming and his version of NCIS is on hiatus. Also, maybe they could write his NCIS character out of an episode for a week (he's sick, he's on vacation, he's at a law enforcement seminar, or any number of other reasons). I would love to see Jake Lowenstein again and it would be great to see the big dramatic argument you described. It would be fun to see all of these characters again. I like the idea off seeing Audrey again, but not Miles and Audrey getting back together. On your last point, I keep waiting for Eldin to walk around the corner or downstairs. I know the actor is dead, but for some reason I have an eaiser time accepting Phil's death than Eldin's. I'm all for seeing Miller Redfield again. I mentioned this on another thread, but I see Miller Redfield as part of the panel of a Fox and Friends type morning show. To be a head anchor or pundit, someone needs a certain level of intelligence and strong opinions. That's not Miller. I could see him on the Wolf Network's morning show. Miller would be perfect as the person who asks questions to get the discussion started or to ask a question as a way to change topics.

It's a trope, but why not? It could be a fun episode. Maybe there's a work thing Penny and Bernadette are going to so Howard has to watch the kids for an afternoon and Leonard agrees to help. Stuart can't do it because he has plans with his girlfriend.

Yes, you are correct. Here's a quick clarification just to make it clear. When Jamie and Eddie were talking about being romantic partners and partners on the job, they held the same rank. NYPD did not have a rule on the books preventing that situation. This is the situation Jamie and Eddie were in when the season started. Shortly after the season started, Jamie is promoted and would have been directly supervising Eddie. I think there is a rule on the books preventing this, but I am not 100% sure.

Which characters from the original series would you like to see appear in the new version? I am rooting hard for Peter Hunt. He and Murphy had such great chemistry together. I would love to see them share a few scenes together. I know Scott Bakula has his own show and is very busy so he could not be a regular, but it would be great if he could appear in at least an episode or two.
