It would be wonderful, but it's probably not going to happen. When the show licensed music during it's original run, it only covered the first airing and reruns, because in the late 1980s-1990s, the home market did not really exist nor did streaming. It would be incredibly expensive to go back and get the rights for all of those great girl gorups, soul, and Motown songs. That being said, it's not impossible because The Wonder Years had a similiar issue and was on Netflix with most of the music intact.

This got me thinking. I would love to see Pat and Avery have a conversation (just the two of them) even if it's short. Maybe Avery and Pat run into each at Phil's or something.

I absolutely love both of those ideas. As for Adam being a former stunt man, maybe it's a different kind of pain.

I thought the place was being shut down and we saw a bit of that with Anthony and Henry in the car. I thought Anthony's mother was moving in with him because the nursing home was being shut down. My guess is he spent the family money on the watch and the apartment, and he doesn't care about what kind of car he drives.

I agree with both of these comments. Sheldon is almost always the smartest one in the room, certainly in his classes. Paige might excell at math and science, but there may be someone who gets higher grades in another class. If that happened to Sheldon, he would throw a hissy-fit/temper tantrum, while Paige would just work harder. Paige is surrounded by people her own age at school, which makes a huge difference. They see each other as peers and equals. Sheldon is something of a mascot, curiosity, tag along younger sibling. The other students in high school probably see Sheldon and think of their younger siblings or cousins.

I don't think there's enough for a full half show, but I would love to see more of Avery on the Wolf Network on this show. Some episodes could have a Murphy storyline and an Avery storyline. Maybe but it would probably be just a warning. I think the executives would understand it was a long day and he was tired. He's also the new guy so they would probably just chalk it up "I guess he wasn't ready for that yet." He didn't say anything shocking or terribly offensive so I can't picture the network doing something drastic like suspending him. Funny thing about thing. Vinyl records/record players made a come back a few years ago among millennials.

You would think so, but I've heard about couples in real life (not a police station) doing this and succeeding for some time at least. They can't pull it off forever though. Sooner or later someone is going to figure it out. It's been great to see Jamie dealing with his new position, because it gives us a chance to see what Frank was like rising through the ranks. Jamie is Frank's mini-me. Having Eddie at the same precinct is a horrible idea for so many reasons. I hope the characters realize it's a bad idea, or Eddie gets an amazing opportunity at another precinct and Jamie can't stand in her way just so they can be together. He has never wanted her to sacrifice her career for thier relationship.

Agreed. As you pointed out, they went with what was funny instead of what was accurate and I'm okay with that. I think it would have been just as good an episode if they kept it to 4 hours of coverage and have something else be the obstacle.

I think she's older a months or a year at most. They are meant to be peers and very close in age. Could you explain what you meant by "her pricey private school gives her a leg up." Did you mean it makes her seem more mature? Missy haggling with Billy was fantastic.

I knew it could be done. Jack and Bobby did a similar episode in 2004. I think it aired on or the day after election day. They mentioned the candidates but it was vague. You'd hear the announcer on the news say something like "A critical swing state goes to Kerry," but they wouldn't say which state.

So far this has been the best episode. They didn't make it an issue of the week and had it more about the characters and human interaction. The major issue was an old fashioned Get Out the Vote Campaign, and that felt in keeping with the show. I really hope there are more episodes like this. I want to see more of Avery at the Wolf Network. I was thrilled that Avery wanted Trump to keep talking. He was totally in sit back and grab the popcorn mode. It was dumb of Corky to cut the woman off. As long as she was talking, they didn't have to talk or worry about filling airtime. I think my biggest complaint was Pat. It would have worked better if he was a last minute replacement because something happened to the person who was originally going to do the big board/numbers type of stuff. In season 3, Murphy has a brief relationship with Jake Lowenstein, her ex-husband (they were married for about a week during the late 1960s). Murphy finds out she's pregnant and decides to keep the baby. Dan Quayle goes on TV and says this, which Murphy Brown then edited into an episode https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnhhZ0LVNPU When they said Robert I thought that was a strage choice. Of course it was for Robert Kennedy. I feel so stupid for not picking up on that. That being said it works both ways. The in-universe explanation is that it is for RFK. The writers probably chose it as a way to honor Robert Pastorelli. Miguel's parents as well as Miguel are undocumented immigrants. It is difficult for undocumented immigrants to become full citizens.

I like Paige and Sheldon together-not in a romantic way-it's great fun to see them interact. I loved how happy George was at the end of the episode. I knew as soon as Mee-Maw starting teaching them how to haggle that Missy was going to be great, but I wasn't sure how it would play out. I was not disappointed. For the first time I noticed how much older Missy looked. She's really starting to grow up. Overall, I am happy with this episode.

I thought the plot with the tattoos was kind of stupid. I did like where Adam ended up and I hope we actually get to see one of his meetings. I don't want his group to become a regular thing, but it could be a way to do a classic sitcom plot. We hear the same story but from Adam's perspective and from Bonnie's perspective as each tells the other people at the meeting. We would also hear how the other people in the meeting respond. I thought the plot with Christy and Jill was pretty good.

I think "I've got to get my own place" or some variation is going to be a running gag. He'll say it, but he won't do it. I'm glad because the scenes with Murphy and Avery are the best on the show. I never would have expected that.

I don't know how cards work, but maybe it listed both of them (Eddie and Jamie) and he didn't want Jamie to know. Yes! I was going to post this exact same question. I have no problem with a series not perfectly lining up with real life (Mad Men sometimes did episodes set during Thanksgiving or Christmas during the summer), but there should be at least some logic. This set-up just felt totally wrong to me as well. It could have been a gift. He also could have saved up for it, setting aside money every month or something like that.

I think it was just supposed to be a funny sight gag. This whole heck house/hell house thing is totally new to me. I had never heard of it before this episode. I had heard of haunted houses, but not something like what we saw in the episode. I don't understand why scenes of Columbine and JonBenet Ramsey would be included. Yes they are awful events, but what the reason to include them? I agree with you. Some people continue to wear older styles after they are trendy. Even though Mad Men starts in the early 1960s, much of Betty's and Peggy's wardrobe/stye is still very 1950s. Even into the early 1960s you would still see many people wearing clothes from the previous decade. There's a big difference between having something too early (like love beads and tie-die something set in the early 1960s) and having something too late. Not everyone keeps up with the latest trends and wears the latest styles, so I think showing a range in a crowd scene or among characters is actually more accurate than having everyone looking like something from a 1989 catalogue/magazine.

Shallow end of the pool: Thank you, wardrobe department for putting him in tight t-shirts. Avery and Murphy are the best thing about this show. I wouldn't mind an episode that was Murphy and Avery trapped in a room (locked in, stuck elevator, etc) talking to each other for almost the entire episode.

I don't think Penny would have been a creepy costume. It would have worked well with Leonard's line about assuming that Penny's costume would be sexy. Penny from Inspector Gadget is not a sexy costume and would have worked well with the couples theme. Howard as Sheldon was fantastic and the highlight of the episode. A close second is Amy as Bernadette. I hated when Amy and Bernadette talked about what happened. It felt like mothers intervening in a dispute their sons were having. It just felt a little icky.

Tammy was out of place, but I would totally watch a series of web shorts about Tammy giving the plots of movies/plays/musicals and then she gets mentally distracted and starts summarizing something else.

I don't think this is a concern because both shows are morning shows. I think I remember hearing someone say something about four hours in the promo, so if her show is 8 AM-12 PM on election day, polls would still be open and they wouldn't be calling election results. Avery's show is normally an hour (it runs 8-9), so even if Wolf Network is doing a similar thing with a 4 hour block of coverage, it would be exit polls and those can change throughout the day. Also, I don't think anyone watching Murphy Brown is going to think that what they are seeing in the TV show is an accurate reflection of what is actually happening in the world. Plus, I think Murphy's line in the show within the show about the three Republicans watching Murphy in the Morning is probably pretty close to who watches the actual Murphy Brown.

Sure it would. VAL would have overheard the same conversation whether the conversation took place in Murphy's office or the set. That being said, I really miss Murphy having an office. Maybe if they get more money in season 2 they'll use it to build more sets. “Apologies, he is currently at a rally” was a great line. That line felt like vintage Murphy to me. It was wonderful and I loved it. Murphy sending him on a wild goose chase was a great litle subplot. I loved how proud Murphy was when Avery said he'd never give a big story like that to someone else, but instead would use it himself. I would love to see an episode where the two of them were actively competing over the same story or interview. I'm so sad to hear that Jay Thomas died. I would have loved for Jerry Gold to have made an appearance in this series. Even though the actor died, hopefully they can mention the character. Even if it's just a quick mention about something he was working on when he died or what happened to him.

I'm guessing George was able to talk Mary into allowing it because it was just for one night and it's Halloween. He probably pointed out that Missy is old enough to understand the difference between a costume and what it's okay to wear in real life.
