  1. Future secretaries: Someone who plans to use their proximity to Murphy to become a YouTube star An aspiring rap star who raps all of their lines This was from an episode post but I thought it worked well here.
  2. They had originally talked about staying together at work, so I can understand why Jamie put her on the list. I thought Eddie's line about needing some distance from him because he is a Reagan was her sort of telling him it was because he would be her boss. It was saying it without directly saying it. Also, she could have changed her mind. She thought it was a great idea and what she wanted until she started to think about the reality of the situation and all of the long term implications for her career and realized it was a bad idea. The idea of Jamie as a disciplinarian who is going to whip the precinct into shape is laughable. Jamie is great, but has anyone who made this decision met him? I hate to call him an overgrown boy scout, but it's not too far off from who he is. That being said, it will be fun to see him in a leadership role. In my head, I see him growing into a Frank Furillo type from Hill Street Blues. They way Danny idolizes Henry is facinating. I get the oldest son rebelling against his father and wanting to be different. Isn't there a saying about how grandparents and grandchildren often bond because they have a common enemy? On another level it's frightening. I can't help but picture Henry as a detective and the stuff he did and got away with because back then, the rules didn't exist/weren't enforced if they did exist, and almost no one cared as long as they got the job done. Henry as a detective is what would happen if Danny were allowed to operate with almost no limits at all. It's terrifying, and almost something I would love to see in flashbacks.
  3. I love all of these ideas. I agree. She's still need someone for administrative work, especially if she's doing speaking engangements. Even on the original show, the other characters had offices, but we rarely saw them. 90% of the time, if we were seeing someone's office, it was Murphy's. I'm not sure if we ever saw Jim's office or Frank's office in the original series. I know we saw Corky's office at least one and I remember seeing Miles's office once or twice.
  4. Interesting you mention The Honeymooners (but all of the others totally work with your point about not all women wanting children). When I was watching The Honeymooners in college, in one episode they say how long they had been married for and with my roommate's help was able to do the math. (I am horrible at math). Ralph and Alice married during the Great Depression and may have decided to wait to have children until they were in a better situation financially (it's before the pill but there were other methods and they could have been lucky). World War II kept them apart for a number of years. Ralph and Alice may have wanted children, but between the Depression and WWII, by the time they were ready to have children, she would have been too old and adoption was much more difficult and less accepted in that era than it is today.
  5. I loved the scene in church at the start. When Sheldon asks his first question Mary alternates between mortified and embarassed, while Missy and Mee-Maw are ready to grab the popcorn and watch the show. Something that surprised me was that Georgie didn't go to the funeral. I thought he would have been old enough and the girl was probably someone who went to school with him. Overall, I liked this episode.
  6. I think this was an improvement over last week and I think the show still has potential. It's just taking some time to figure everything out, what works and what doesn't. I like the relationship between Avery and Murphy. I'm going to keep watching for at least the first season.
  7. I think Haley might be old enough to be a flower girl (although I could be wrong). Cinnamon is going to be part of the wedding in some way.
  8. What a waste of Bull having jury duty. I was willing to bet money that this would be their 12 Angry Men episode. It's only a matter of time before this show does that kind of an episode. Maybe they will give that subplot to another character later this season or next season.
  9. That would make a fantastic running gag/joke. Whenever they get into a fight, that's the line that ends the argument. When Murphy first found out she was pregnant, she knew based on the timing that the father was either her ex-husband Jake or Jerry Gold. She figured out that it was Jake, but I can't remember how they confirmed it.
  10. I was pleasantly surprised that Georgie and Erica let Missy stay with them and be part of the conversation. Georgie could have just as easily been "go play over there and let the older kids talk." It was great they got to talk to someone who is going through the same type of thing they are, and that Georgie let Missy be a part of that. Missy understands how people think, at least from a social perspective. I love the dynamic between Georgie and Missy. It says a great deal about him that he let her hang around, even when there was "an older woman" there. Georgie and Missy have a strong bond due to thier unique situation, despite being at very different points in thier life (She's 10 and he's 15, which at that age is practically light years). I think that on some level, George knew there was no such thing as a perfect couple. I think that George enjoyed being proven right and showing Mary the other couple also has problems, just different problems from thiers.
  11. Not just Law and Order, it's been on a bunch of CBS shows. The network cleared the name so they use it whenever they need to instead of trying to clear something else. I'm pretty sure it's been on Blue Bloods, Bull, and other CBS shows. I don't think so. I thought Linda died in a medical evacuation. Something went horribly wrong while Linda and a medical team were transporting a patient via helicopter and Linda died when something went wrong. It was just a tragic accident.
  12. In the episode, Murphy says she dated Trump once. Does the math work out (I'm horrible with numbers)? When would Murphy and Donald have crossed paths? Thanks to anyone willing to offer a fan theory.
  13. I had the same thought. I didn't love it, but I accept that this was set-up and I hope the show improves. I think it has potential. I agree. One storyline might be a bet, because we know Murphy loved those. I could see something involving who gets higher ratings for a week. I hope so! I like the idea that no matter what happens with work or the show, she still loves him. I love these ideas. I really hope we get to see Avery doing his show every once and while. It would be awesome to see Avery with Luke Russert, Peter Doocy, Chris Wallace and others like them. I have the perfect way to do it. What if it's a panel being held by an organization/University and Murphy is worried about Avery will say about her, or he says things that upset her because she didn't realize he felt that way about somethings. Towards the end of the episode Murphy should have a line like "I wish you had told me (pauses), instead of telling me and a room full of people." I write my college thesis about TV too (different shows though). What was your topic/what aspects of the show were you focusing on? You are correct. When the show was made, they negotiated the music rights for broadcast/syndication, but not home video/streaming. In the 1980s-1990s when they made the show, there was not a big market for TV shows on VHS, and TV shows on DVD and streaming came after the series ended.
  14. I think I missed something. I thought Christy was rejected from every law school she applied to. A line about how they had to go through the entire wait list before they even got to her would have been good, or just any explanation would have been nice. I don't like the new credits. I am looking forward to a season of wedding planning, and then having the wedding go horribly wrong.
  15. I don't really think what he did was hitting on her. Agreed. The way he asked, it was clear she could have said no and kept her job. It felt like it was more asking her as a friend than a romantic thing. Yes! Everything that happened was consensual. She could have said no at any point. There was never any indication he put any sort of pressure on her or threatened her/hinted that he would fire her if she said no.
  16. I was surprised that this was only a week after the finale ended. I thought it was going to pick up months later with Edie and Jamie already married. I'm looking forward to the first time Edie sides with Danny instead of Jamie during dinner.
  17. I could see this as a fantastic episode. Missy is sick for a week or two so Sheldon moves in with Georgie. I think Missy is also entertained by Sheldon as well, not just how their parents react to him. She may not understand him, but she wouldn't want to miss anything.
  18. That explanation works for me. I have no if that's actually true, but if one of the characters in the episode had said that, I would have been willing to accept that as TVLogic and go with it. This explanation also works. It also fits really well with the idea expressed in the episode that livers are rare and that there are people ahead of her in line with much longer life expectancies. (not that I agree with that, but it would have worked well within the context of the episode). It also would have raised the stakes. It's no longer about this one case; there are greater implications. That would have been awesome.
  19. I get the sense that Penny and Zack bullied nerds/less popular kids, but that they were doing it to fit in and just go along with the crowd. Both have matured and I think to some extent at least, regret what they did.
  20. Depending on how the children grow as they get older, they could do the first two seasons as one year. Ideally, the show would want to get 4 seasons so they can syndicate it and make more money. I think it's pretty common for twins, at least when they are babies/really little. I have heard about other families doing this It's so much easier to have both babies in the same room. I think part of is that Sheldon hates change and the unfamiliar. In other families, they might have had Sheldon move in with Georgie by now, but because Sheldon does not do well with change and he does get along slightly better with Missy, it made more sense to keep them together.
  21. Do we know what year it is within the world of the show? Have they decided to make seasons 1 and 2 the same school year? Missy has a heart. She enjoys seeing her brother get punished, but not seeing him miserable or upset. It's like she has a line or a limit. It seems like when it really matters most, she will side with Sheldon over her parents.
  22. I know and accept that TVLand operates under a different set of rules and logic. There is something about TAC that I found confusing and I am hoping someone here will be able to explain it. Does TAC only get paid if they win? I thought they were like lawyers, whether or not they win the case, they still get paid, but there might be some type of bonus if they win. I'm surprised they killed off Cable. I wonder if they will bring in a new character to fill the hacker/techie slot.
  23. I agree. Something felt off, but I can't say exactly what it was.
  24. I can totally see him on the Wolf Network's version of Fox and Friends, especially because there would be co-hosts and he wouldn't have to carry the show himself. He would be great at asking questions to the other co-hosts to get things going. He wouldn't need strong views. I can't see him as a prime-time pundit because there is a certain amount of intelligence needed for that type of position and he lacks it. Pundits need to have strong opinions for thier show to work, and I don't see that as Miller.
