  1. For some reason, I’m just not feeling Cameron and Courtney this season. I thought it was kind of cute last season, but this season I’m having about as much patience with it as Yolanda is. I don’t know. It is interesting that his grandmother has ice powers too, though. Rick and Beth though….that is cute. The show is trying really hard to make me sympathetic toward Cindy Burman, and I hate to admit it but I think they’re succeeding. That poor terrified child. I know Cindy’s building her team, but I’m wondering if it won’t actually end up being an all-hands-on-deck battle against Eclipso. And Shade is the wild card. I actually hope he doesn’t turn out to be all bad. I like having a somewhat morally ambiguous character in the mix. I loved Pat last season, but between lying to Courtney and the way he’s dealing with Mike, I’m kind of frustrated with him this year. I hope they don’t drag out this secret thing too long. And I hope his plans with Mike aren’t just something to get Mike out of the way, because Mike will see straight through that. Why are Beth’s parents so weird around her? Could those hugs have been any more awkward? Oh, and another thing…Cameron, I know you’ve had a hard time lately (and I wonder what exactly he was told about his father’s death), but maybe when the girl’s phone is blowing up, don’t make it all about yourself? I know, teenage boy, but still.
  2. Seven open release dates. So….(in no particular order): Fantastic Four Blade Deadpool 3 Captain America 4 X-Men/Mutants movie? Shang-Chi 2? (would ‘24 be too early?) …? Young Avengers maybe? (ETA: I’m guessing a team-up movie of some sort will be in here somewhere.)
  3. Yeah, I hated that. I don’t like zombies to begin with, and as others have said, the tone was all over the place. Chadwick Boseman’s lines were good. Who is Kurt? Is he someone I’m supposed to know? I’m a bit confused on what exactly the last scene with Thanos was trying to say. How do humans trying to save their world lead to the destruction of the universe? Never mind, I just read through the rest of the thread. I didn’t realize he was in Wakanda; I thought he was in New York Yes, I think this is the biggest problem I’m having with it.
  4. Ah right. Reading fail on my part. 🤦🏻‍♀️
  5. As the Comicbook.com article notes, we already do have four movies without announced release dates; Fantastic Four, Blade, Deadpool 3, and Captain America 4. So…. 🤷🏻‍♀️ It’s not necessarily any new projects. Not to my knowledge.
  6. Disney didn’t wait to see what the second weekend drop off would be. They just announced that the rest of their 2021 film slate would get an exclusive theatrical release window before going to Disney+ (Deadline). By the way, when Shang-Chi (and the rest) does end up on Disney+, will it be as a Premier release (additional fees) or will it be a regular release? I assumed it would be a regular release, but I’ve seen some comments saying it would be Premier, so I thought maybe I’d missed something.
  7. I know - they’re really racing through it. While I have no illusions which way this one is going to go, here’s the first “Elite 8” matchup - Legends VS Supernatural.
  8. That poll’s closed already - sorry! ☹️ Looks like Legends beat Jane, and will be facing Supernatural in the next round (I don’t expect it to get any further than that).
  9. Oh right, I forgot about that. I didn’t rewatch the whole scene, I just was looking for a possible date.
  10. Now that the season finale has aired, I’m bringing this over here to ask: Did they ever address it again? Or was it just all forgotten? I’ve been scanning the episode threads, so I know there was some weird thing about Bishop having some of Sara’s DNA, but it doesn’t sound like they ever did anything further with the idea of whether this is OG Sara in a new body, or a new Sara altogether. Apparently there was no shock revelation of OG Sara still being alive, though.
  11. Second best now - updates this morning have it beating F9. It’s doing fantastic.
  12. Meh. I didn’t care for this one, for a multitude of reasons. Doctor Strange is one of my least favorite origin movies to begin with, nothing in the movie made me believe that Christine was the great love of Stephen’s life, and the whole idea of her death being a fixed point is undercut by the fact that, obviously, in the main MCU ‘verse, she didn’t die. That said, between this week’s and last week’s, I might pick this week’s, even though last week’s ended with some hope and this one, obviously, didn’t. I’m not entirely sure why. Part of it is the voicework, I think. With a few exceptions (Fury, Loki, etc), I didn’t think the voicework last week was so great. This week it was excellent. And somehow, weirdly enough since this one ended with the death of everything and last week didn’t, this one didn’t seem quite as dark? 🤷🏻‍♀️ I don’t even know. I did think it was amusing that Roku showed me an ad for The Time Traveler’s Wife with Rachel McAdams right after I watched this though. 😂
  13. I guess I never commented on this one last week. Good episode, although I ended up feeling sorry for Mike at the end. Poor Mike. He got to be a superhero for a bit, and then poof, it was gone. I loved Courtney being his defender though. I’m glad they’re getting closer, and I hope that continues. The actor playing The Shade totally reminds me (with that hair especially) of an evil Andy Griffith. Lol. Although of course not the accent. I’m curious to see what his real agenda is. As others have pointed out, he didn’t hurt the kids at all, and actually seemed to be concerned about them at the end. Oh, one thing I just remembered. What was with that ringing thing that happened to Yolanda in the classroom? That wasn’t just a headache. More side effects manifesting from killing Brainwave?
  14. Oh man, I’m like Courtney at the end - “is it bad that I kind of feel sorry for them?” I do actually feel sorry for Artemis; she deserves better than whatever lies and/or manipulations Cindy is going to fill her head with. Although what is the deal with her, anyway? Are we supposed to believe her abilities are all natural? Because she definitely seems to have a bit of super strength going on there, at the very least. In any case, she needs friends other than Cindy. I also did feel a tiny bit sorry for Cindy. She’s obviously still feeling guilty over whatever happened with her birth mother, and Eclipso is totally playing her. Pat’s and Barbara’s forced parental bonding with the Crocks was kind of hilarious. And the irony of Sportsmaster calling Icicle a “few shades short of a rainbow”. Lol. You and your wife aren’t exactly the epitome of sanity, either, pal. But they are, bizarrely enough, very loving and dedicated parents. Although I do wonder what would happen if a child of theirs decided they were interested in focusing on things other than sports. Pat and Barbara…..no. I really thought you were smarter than this. Courtney is going to find out whatever you’re hiding, and it’ll be worse because you lied to her. As far as what the secret is…..it occurred to me that maybe Pat was the boy that was Eclipso’s host in the first episode? But I don’t know if that’s possible. I went back and looked and the time stamp just said “Decades Ago”. Although I did notice a car that looks like Pat’s in Dr. McNider’s driveway. Also, Courtney runs into the Shade. Is it me, or does this guy really look like an evil Andy Griffith? Although…maybe not so evil, since maybe he didn’t kill Doctor Mid-Nite after all. I’m curious to see what he’s really up to. One thing that is frustrating me a bit so far this season, though, is that we’re not getting much on the regular characters, other than Courtney and her family. We get snippets of each of them each week, but it’s just kind of a teaser. Not really anything substantial. Yolanda has gotten a job. I wonder if this is on her own initiative, or another of her parents’ plans to keep her busy and “out of trouble.” Beth is still trying to get Chuck back and save her parent’s marriage. Rick is still feeding Grundy, and went back and retook his test. Good for him, and good for the teacher for apologizing. Although she was kind of choking on it. I wasn’t sure whether her look at the end was her realizing her prejudices, or being angry that he proved her wrong. And also…I think Rick totally has a crush on Beth. I’m not sure whether Beth reciprocates or not. I kind of think right now she’s totally oblivious. One other kind of funny thing: could it have been any more obvious that the “apple” Artemis crushed was plastic? 😂
  15. Emily VanCamp leaving The Resident Possibly indicative of an expanded role for Sharon Carter in the MCU?
  16. It’s really not. I thought it was going to be for the first minute or two, but it swerved pretty quickly.
  17. Same. So much. 😢 I suppose it might have conflicted with her directing Legends’ 100th episode. 🤷🏻‍♀️
  18. No, not the only one. I didn’t think she sounded anything like ScarJo. But Jeremy Renner didn’t sound like Jeremy Renner, either. 🤷🏻‍♀️ It was an interesting idea. I didn’t hate it, certainly. But it wasn’t nearly as fun for me as last week’s episode. Points for remembering that Betty Ross exists in the MCU. And I knew “Fury” was actually Loki almost immediately. Someone else might be able to explain it better, but in the Ant-Man movies, it was established that Ant-Man and Wasp have the same strength when they’re small as they would when they’re full-size. So that was in line with how their powers were portrayed in the movies.
  19. Not sure if I’ll watch this one. It would be nice to see Ray again, but I stopped watching The Flash after the second season, and other than the occasional crossover, I’ve never picked it up again. If Sara had been included, I would have watched for sure, but otherwise….🤷🏻‍♀️
  20. Oh, I didn’t remember seeing the Sold sign. That makes more sense I guess.
  21. So the promo for this week makes it look like Mike gets the Thunderbolt. Real or misdirect? The description sounds like that too, but in Matt Mitovich’s answer, he said “whomever does first avail themselves of Thunderbolt” (emphasis mine). I’m thinking Mike might not end up with it at the end of the episode, and that might end up further alienating him from his family.
  22. I was surprised that Jenny left. For some reason I had been under the impression that she was going to be a regular, but I guess I had that wrong. Other than introducing Jenny (Hi Jenny! Bye Jenny!) and helping her get her powers (and setting up a way for Courtney and Pat to have a talk about how she’s still important even if she isn’t Starman’s daughter), the rest of it was mostly just setup for the future. Rick is still feeding Grundy, and skipping summer school. Yolanda’s folks have put her in summer school to “keep her out of trouble” - wow, they really are something else. Beth….ah, nothing really on Beth this week. Zeke is upgrading the robot - really, who IS this guy? Is this going to turn out to be a janitor/Shining Knight situation? On the villain front, The Shade’s in town. I was a bit afraid at the end that Pat was going to keep that a secret from Courtney with all her “normal life” resolutions, but good for him for not doing that. It was hilarious watching her trying to stay serious but you could see the delight she was trying so hard to repress until the end. 😄 And Cindy. Oh Cindy. You have a tiger by the tail and you are not even remotely in control. I almost feel sorry for you. I DO feel sorry for poor Bobbie, who was apparently abducted and held prisoner to provide the step-mom cover story. I’ll bet she wished she’d forgone the wine and the dish smashing, and just headed straight for the exit. Although who’s to say Cindy wouldn’t have come after her. ETA: Although now that I’m thinking about it, why was she still around, other than plot convenience? As far as we can tell, Cindy and Dragon King disappeared five months ago. I would have thought Bobbie would have gotten out of Dodge Blue Valley long before now. I did wonder what was the deal with that one shot where she was sweeping up the glass. It looked like the kitchen island was gone, but then later it was back. 🤔
