When Candiace wouldn't back down, Ashley threw, "You would say that to me when I had a miscarriage?" to shut down the conversation. Girl. Quit trying to tragedy-bomb your way out of this web of BS you spun yourself into. I have never liked Ashley. And Gizelle? Uhmuhmuhm. I thought she was getting it together after Karen let it go at dinner and graciously thanked her for introducing her to the business contact; and that half decent talking to by Candiace. I loved the TH where the producer brought up all her shady moments towards Karen and Gizelle laughed and was like, "Next question." But then Gizelle threw the extra shade when Karen was on IG Live instead of partying with them. GTFOHWTBS And her butt plug BFF Robyn explaining why Karen was wrong and not really grieving. Who decides how someone else should grieve the loss of both parents within months of one another? My little brother had a whole grief baby after our Dad died.

It never ceases to amaze me how many dumb ass, weak-willed, pussy whipped men there are in the world who are so willing to take another person's life just because some manipulative, jealous chick convinced them to.

This is why I'm not a fan of the "forced intimacy" part of TB and TBette. The pursuers are expected to have these very private sharing moments with people they barely know. It always comes across scripted because it is. Molestation, abuse, illness and miscarriage are not subjects normal people would bring up on a 1st, 2nd, or even 3rd date, especially when the relationship is not even monogamous yet. In this case, I do at least find it realistic that a birth simulation might bring up those memories for Mike. How could it not? That doesn't necessarily mean he has unresolved feelings about the past relationship. But he NEVER said it was resolved. He just started talking about his Grandma and his puppy in immediate succession. That's why so many of us started looking for a prosthetic. And what made his whole approach so suspect.

The last time I remember this working well was A Different World when Dwaaaaayne pined for Whitley, then moved on to Kinu over summer break. Whitley started liking him back but it was too late because Kikookaloo was in the picture. They finally got together and were getting married when Dwayne got cold feet. Then Whitley moved on and was marrying Sen. Byron only to leave him at the altar in my favorite two episodes of any show ever: ADW's Save the Best for Last, Parts 1 and 2. "Please, Baby. Baby, please!"

Judy gets the sympathy edit because she is very sweet and loving and guilty about killing Ted. But she has also shown herself to be a calculating liar. First of all, everybody hates Evil Steve, but Judy is the one who was driving the car. And no matter what Steve wanted to do, Judy chose not to stop nor call the police. I still think that's a plot flaw because there was no real reason for them to flee the scene. Judy joined the grief group on a total lie, but Jen was the one the group was mad at when she got (rightfully) angry about it. And it's not like Judy was forthcoming with the lie. Jen found her out. Anyway, Judy entered Jen's life on a lie and IMO was only somewhat remorseful. She was upset about getting caught, but also full of justifications. That the grief group bought. 🙄 Then, it was clear that Judy turned in Steve mot because she felt that what he was doing was wrong, but because she found out he had played her. Sweet, tortured, self-loathing Judy turned in Steve for money laundering instead of herself for the hit and run. I know this is coming across like I don't like Judy. But I really do love characters with flaws. I just think there was a bit too much hand waving and justifications with Judy's flaws that none of the other characters got.

Gizelle is a truly shitty friend. But she is the main reason RHWOP is not just a boring documentary on DMV residences. Ashley wants to be Gizelle, but she is too mean and too simple. I won't say she's stupid because she's not; there is just not much complexity there. Nobody really wants to be her friend. Not even the equally vapid Candiace. Gizelle is the personification of a Mean Girl. There are so many layers - smart, beautiful, wealthy enough, hard-working, a good Mom, thoughtful, fun, funny - that you know there's good in there. And you keep looking for it until you get stung by the scorpion's tail. The only reason Robyn can hang in there is because she has her doormat role down pat from years of practicing with Juan.
