  1. That is Katie Porter. She represents an Orange County district which includes Irvine, CA.
  2. Tim Matheson! Rebecca's dad looked familiar, but I couldn't recall his name. Anyone else have a desire to refer to him as "Otter Pop"?
  3. Rudy and Frankie's argument was a continuation of the last episode argument. Frankie is taking his newly founded amateur-based porn business to a rival mafia guy/family. Rudy is pissed off that Frankie didn't go to Rudy with this idea and that Frankie is still not giving Rudy a piece of this action. Rudy just happened to walk in at the end of Frankie's usual(?) poker game. Frankie is still pissed off that he has not been respected in Rudy's organization even though his money ideas have brought in a lot of money. In order to get Rudy off his case, Frankie tried to appease Rudy with the poker night winnings (where Frank apparently had a good night). Rudy was angry at the attempt to be bought off by the pittance of cash in comparison to the porn money as well as the lack of respect Frankie has for Rudy. Add to that Rudy's branch of the mafia family is in a weakened state due to the head boss' self-imposed isolation.
  4. My guess would be Dr. Owen's branch of the government since it is an area where there was a lot of upside down activity -- or the Russians.
  5. I watched the Tracy Ellis Ross episode and I'm not sure what to make of the show so far. One thing that stood out for me was the space between guest and the host. The seating between the guest couch and host desk seems to be farther away than with other talk shows. It didn't give me that air of comfortableness that a host should have with a guest. The cause for the large space might be because of the unusual shape of the desk or the monitor which admittedly allows visual stimulus for conversation. It just seemed off to me.
  6. There is something off with Eileen's guy but we don't have enough information about him. I do find it odd is that after a NYE date, he goes to a random bar in what is probably the seediest part of the city to get a drink. He's a financier so money is not an issue. You would think he would want to get a drink at a more respectable part of NYC.
  7. To me it looks like Vince and Abby's relationship has run its course and we are seeing the beginning of the end. I've always thought Harvey was charmed by and infatuated with Eileen to some degree. Even as he's rejecting her film-making ideals, he still respects her. I've always thought Krumholtz played this beautifully. I agree that it looks more like an infatuation rather than something romantic. However, i think Alston is very interested in the female transit cop in Jack Maple's squad. He was giving her the same look as he gave the female reporter in the first season.
  8. I haven't been a fan of Will Ferrell movies. One film I thought he was fine in was "Stranger than Fiction" -- his attempt at being a more serious actor. The film had an interesting premise. I recommend it (available on Amazon Prime) for those who are curious.
  9. I wonder where is Bobbie? The epilogue scenes from the end of last season seemed to imply Bobbie joined the crew of the Rocinante...
  10. The US and Soviet Union were in the midst of a Cold War. The mindset was that any new technology or discovery needed to be explored whether to catch up from a technological disadvantage or gain an advantage that could be used against any perceived enemy. I'm not sure who discovered the Upside Down first, but eventually both countries knew it existed and both needed to find out as much about it as they can. Getting more knowledge, in secret, about the Upside down required access to that realm and that's why they wanted to open portals in their own territory.
  11. I think the duct work in the mall where Erica entered was very narrow. In the Russian base, the duct work was a lot wider.
  12. I think Woodard didn't want to put out the guns until he was certain that the vigilantes were going after him. Someone, like the police, dropping by unexpectedly when he had the guns out would have brought about unwanted suspicion. When Woodard spoke to the kids, they were in a field near their home. I think the field was a fair distance away from the house. Woodard couldn't tell if the father saw him talking to the kids and that the baiting worked. Confirmation happened when saw the cars on the road heading towards him.
  13. It didn't look like a baby to me. She looked to be a normal shopper carrying a few small items to the check out. Finding the fingerprints appears to be coincidental to the earlier reported robbery. That was an odd piece of filming/editing. It looked like the vigilantes were close enough to identify that the man running was Woodard, but there was no indication that they recognized who he was. It could be that they filmed the sequences and the editor did what he could to preserve the story line. Elisa being a relative of Julie is an interesting theory. Seems to fit with what is going on this season. There were also outlines of American soldiers in his hallucination. Does that mean he killed Americans too? I thought it was interesting that Hays purposely touched the man in the coat and tie and said he was sorry. Was that a personal choice by the actor or is that something the director wanted?
  14. I would guess the same place he got his cache of weapons. Ex-military types that sold military weapons on the black/grey market to other ex-military.
  15. As I understood it, Abe is fighting for the intellectual property rights to the project he was working on. Bell Labs says it belongs to Bell Labs as stipulated by his contract.
  16. Uthred's love interests = Spinal Tap Drummers
  17. I would need to watch the episode again, but I thought Randall mentioned Stanford.
  18. NPR (Los Angeles) interview with Samin about SFAH https://www.kcrw.com/news-culture/shows/good-food/samin-nosrat-making-food-tv-like-never-before
  19. I’m glad I can figure out which one is Frankie and which one is Vincent easily
  20. Once they identified the guy who dressed up as a CDC person, they went to his home and arrested the suspect. The suspect stored the missing servers in his home and the police recovered them when he was arrested.
  21. I think most folks are use to hearing dialogue instead of reading dialogue. I've gotten into the habit of putting on closed captioning when watching television. It is a little odd at first, but I have found it to be quite helpful understanding the dialogue and catch more stuff occurring in the background.
  22. Akecheta's journey into the sub-basement did occur relatively early in the life of Westworld and the repair tech mentioned that they were understaffed. So one could make a leap to think that there were not many security protocols in place and when the employees went to lunch, there wasn't anyone around during that time. However, unlike all the other woke hosts, he did seem unusually calm about being in a totally foreign environment in the sub-basement. Although I can't give concrete examples, but Akechata and the Ghost Nation seems to have a protective nature towards humans. Akecheta did provide comfort to a delirious Logan. Trying to take Lee away from Maeve's gang when there were going into Shogun World. When Stubbs was captured, he returned to the control center (under a cloud of mystery) unharmed. Emily seems to be aware of this, too. She seemed to know how to find her father and her father was with Akecheta. How is MIB not dead? Maybe Ford can program the weapons to cause maximum pain to MIB but are still non-lethal. Another FU to MIB... I don't know, I'm reaching on this one.
  23. Loved the whole episode. The Facebook analogy, Ronnie’s segment, and the guest were all on point
