  1. I took it as an impersonation (a very bad one) of the movie Rocky after his victory over Apollo Creed. The implication that he was relieved to see his wife(?) after a bloody battle with the other libertarian presidential hopefuls.
  2. You can also watch the segments on YouTube -- with i think minimal commercials.
  3. Kansas should be referred to whenever anyone brings up "Trickle down economics". They tried it and if failed miserably. I'm glad I live in a state where the governor smart enough not it implement such an idiotic economic policy .
  4. From "One Watson, One Holmes", Season 3 Episode 19: Sherlock: Friendship, I’ve come to believe, is most accurately defined as two people moving towards the best aspects of one another. It is a relationship of mutual benefit, mutual gain.
  5. Interview with Linda Holmes: http://www.npr.org/sections/monkeysee/2015/11/27/457375043/pop-culture-happy-hour-a-conversation-with-trevor-noah
  6. I'm ignorant of hospital policies. Why is this grounds for a paid leave suspension? I don't remember the kid doing or seeing something questionable enough to warrant a suspension.
  7. Why is Dr Taylor on temporary leave?
  8. I went into the series without any knowledge about the comics and I enjoyed the season. I’m looking forward to where the next season goes if there is another. However, I thought the writing got lazy towards the end of the season. Maybe folks here can reason out/explain a few inconsistencies. -Kilgrave’s powers through out the series seem to indicate that he had total control over his victims. Yet when he took control over Hogarth, she was able to manipulate his instructions to end up at her estranged wife’s place. I know that he stated for her to take him to “a doctor she trusted”, but to take him to the wife she dumped and was also in the midst of blackmailing her? You would think in a major city, Hogarth would be familiar with another doctor that she trusted. -During the setup to the final battle, how did Trish resist Kilgrave’s power? I know she had headphones (noise canceling?) on with music blaring, but it was explained his power was viral in nature. The headphones should be an ineffective defense when combatting his power. I realize that the reason for both inconsistencies is probably “Drama!”. I’m hoping someone can come up with explanations besides that.
  9. Out of curiosity, is Pop's barber shop the same as Dre's? You would think the way Dre was talking about loyalty that he would share the same barber as Pop.
  10. Lebron James, noted NBA star, has a receding hairline. Many people have noticed that instead of shaving his head, he covers his receding hairline with either larger headbands or that the location of his headband is traveling further north on his head. He is also known to start games by slapping powder up in the air at the scorer's table. Dre's haircut looked like he had a receding hairline like Lebron James. When he revealed his haircut, someone mentioned that Dre got "Lebroned". The powder slap up in the barber shop was making fun of Dre's "Lebron" haircut.
  11. Watson (to El Gato): The other day you told me Maribel was looking for a tall, handsome man, But that was to keep us from taking a closer look at you. Sherlock (to El Gato): If you were attempt to describe your exact opposite, well done! You have the face and frame of a distressed catcher's mitt.
  12. If you have HBO, you can view it on the HBOGO.com website
  13. I must have mixed up the actor in another role. Never mind. Nothing to see here...
  14. I seem to recall that Bell was married and had a kid? Am I wrong? Can someone fill me in on what happened to his family if there was one?
  15. "Friendship, I’ve come to believe, is most accurately defined as two people moving towards the best aspects of one another. It is a relationship of mutual benefit, mutual gain."
  16. Although I liked this episode, the show seems to follow the same premise lately -- Dre acts like an asshole, family/friends/work acquaintances react to Dre, hilarity hopefully ensues. However, this pattern is making me dislike Dre and lessening my enjoyment of the show. I wish they would change up the dynamics a bit where Dre isn't always the asshole.
  17. A couple of my old favorites: Tampopo (Japan), Shall We Dance (Japan), Amelie (France).
  18. Streets of Fire will always be one of my favorite films. Stranger Than Fiction is a fun film with a sedate Will Farrell. Also have a soft spot for Elizabethtown but mostly for the soundtrack.
