WM definitely oversold Flashpoint's effect on Arrow. If someone didn't watch The Flash, they'd have no idea that Felicity knew about Diggle's kid. I'm assuming she was supposed to be carrying that "secret," but that was so weak. It was never even mentioned that she knew, right?

Yep. I just think it's interesting considering WM's interviews about Billy putting a "spring in Felicity's step" and her being happy with him, things we never saw onscreen.

Yeah, interesting that the happiest we've seen Felicity in a long time is doing what's kickstarting her "darker" arc.

A problem with that is that it makes me expect some really epic episodes to end the season that will explain the 20ish episodes before. That's a lot of pressure to put on, say, 3 episodes out of a 23-episode season when the list of grievances already is crazy long and we're just hitting the midway point of the season.

This is a big problem. They spent four years developing these relationships, and it's like none of them matter in season 5. Instead, they're all about their new characters, to the point where the new characters are getting scenes that the old ones already had. Like the fact that Dinah has met Oliver, Curtis and Rene and worked with them already. Back in S2, when Oliver brought Roy onto the team, he introduced him to Diggle and Felicity, the two people who knew his secret and mattered. It's like they completely forgot about that and anything that has to do with OTA, Thea, Lance, etc. I don't understand who thought that would be a good idea. Those other episodes exist. They even showed them on TNT recently. People aren't just going to forget about them.

"Damnit, Oliver! You better not sleep with my ex-wife next! Both my daughters weren't enough?" I'm assuming there will be a small time jump and that will have happened offscreen. Because otherwise, what, only really a couple of hours or so could have passed between 511 and 512 to see that meeting, and is Diggle really going to be flying off to another country hours/a day after he gets out of prison?

Can't blame Thea for not suiting up this season with the whole "Killing people? Eh" attitude that there seems to be. At least there's that. Speaking of Thea, now that we know what's going to be going on with Felicity, Rory is pretty much definitely gone after 512 and Lance has been mentioned in two descriptions, she's the one I want some focus on ASAP. Although, I'm going to start to feel like if they do focus on her, it's going to be for a farewell storyline.

Question: Do you think they're going to catch Lance up on everything he missed while he was in rehab? Because I'd love to see that scene onscreen. "We fought aliens. Oliver killed Felicity's BF. Black Siren pretended to be your daughter. That's why her statue is gone. We recruited a new Black Canary and you'll never guess what her name is! Etc."

True. I wonder if we'd get different interviews now about Felicity's storyline.

I wonder if this is why Felicity's dealing with her grief through 520 - they're going to find ways to bring up Billy's death every few episodes. Imagine when they fill in Dinah on what happened. Imagine if Dinah's all, "I lost my boyfriend too." Then Felicity has to awkwardly go, "Uh, yeah, Detective Malone, right, my boyf-[choking noises] Nope, still can't call him that."

Yeah, I feel like he's going to have to go through some hardcore extensive training/attitude adjustments in the next few episodes, right? I would have thought that would have at least started in the first few S5 episodes' flashbacks. But we're already at 511, going into 512, and I'm not that impressed with flashback Oliver, especially not when it comes to see what see in S1.

I'm waiting for him to misplace something in present-day and someone to be like, "But you managed to keep track of X, Y, Z while you were on an island and transported to different countries while unconscious and/or kicked out of a plane."

Maybe it's Evelyn who gets electrocuted. Prometheus leaves her in a puddle because he found out Oliver left Roy like that and wants to remind him of it.

I really hope they return to that thread. Oliver and Felicity had that conversation about the throwing star material and then that was it. I honestly thought they just put it in there to make Billy seem suspicious and that was it and it wouldn't be brought up again. Could have been one of the officers at the scene. Chase said they'd keep quiet, but you never know. One could have talked over beers or something.

Arrow remembers the ACU exists! I'm honestly shocked.

Yeah, I think she put Tina last to try to pretend "hey, nothing to see here, no, we're not bringing in Dinah Drake, yes we totally are." They can mention on-screen that Felicity apparently visited Diggle - see, they do talk - but we can't see it? But here, let's have Diggle interacting in the promo with the newest newbie. Since I imagine there will be at least a small time jump between 5x11 and 5x12, there will be no reason for any thanks for Felicity from Diggle because it should have already happened off-screen. And if Rory is in fact gone after 5x12, is Felicity going to have anyone at all? No wonder she's going to be able to keep what she's doing a secret from everyone. Oliver didn't really push that hard to find out what she did to get the information in 5x11, and I have a feeling that it's going to be pretty easy for Felicity to not have to tell anyone what she's up to with everything else going on.

If anything, William was NOT safe because Oliver kept him a secret. No one knew that they should worry about DD finding out about him other than ...Thea right before the kidnapping. Yeah, I'm going to have issues if they try to equate the two onscreen - unless it's so that Felicity can point out that it's not at all the same. Besides, it's not like Oliver really pushed to find out what she did. "It's a long story. Go get John out of prison." "Okay. Bye." Not the same as "Tell me what's bothering you. We're a team." "It's over. Never mind the trips to CC I'm making while we're engaged and you were just paralyzed."

But then they'd have to acknowledge everything that happened to her. I think we're lucky they bring up Havenrock.

Maybe it'll come up when Diggle and Dinah bond? (I'd be surprised if they don't have some sort of bonding moment in the next couple of episodes.)

I saw it more as what happens when an actor knows something BIG is coming - the "Dinah Drake" reveal - and you can see it in their performance. Like a, "I know something you don't but you and the audience are about to find out" moment. (It's like when TV shows love to foreshadow a death for 35+ minutes of an episode before it happens. No one is fooled.)

No, seriously, I know Barry's fast, but it sometimes takes longer for a text to send from my phone than that entire exchange did. There must be really good cell service in that Big Belly Burger and wherever Barry was. Also, good thing no one overheard Oliver on the phone saying he's the Green Arrow in that very public place? Thinking about it, Oliver really was sloppy with his secret identity in this episode.

If they do, I could see them using Paleyfest to announce that JH will be a series regular in S6 (if it doesn't happen sooner).

I wouldn't be surprised if he is behind it. I really wish these people would stop trusting new people, ESPECIALLY SINCE THEY WERE JUST BETRAYED BY EVELYN. Do any of them remember that? I think it's been maybe a week? (Do we know how much time passed between 510 and 511?)

Prometheus has special ears/whatever. It's why BS was so scared of him, she worked for him even though she's a meta. No, seriously, I really hope they give an explanation for that ASAP.

I guess we should assume that Prometheus is still going to be on vacation in 5x12 while the team's in Russia? Isn't it nice of him to give Star City a break whenever Oliver leaves town? I wonder where he vacays.
