You know what bothered me the most about this episode? The way it ended, we don't see Dinah meeting Diggle or Felicity. Instead, the focus is on her meeting Oliver, Rene and Curtis in Hub City. That's why I liked how Roy was brought into the team - we got that "meet the only two people who matter" intro to Team Arrow. And that rooftop fight scene felt like a "here's the new Team Arrow," with Oliver, Rene and Dinah fighting in the field and Curtis on comms while Felicity's off doing her own thing (with Rory as her support - that poor guy. I'm going to pretend that he decided to stay back on his own because he knew Felicity would need some support, like someone to bring her food.) and Diggle's in jail. And I have to say, it's not what I'm looking to see on Arrow after the first four seasons. It's fine for one episode, but I don't want to see this formula repeated weekly.

Yeah, everyone else is at least one step back, including Diggle. But I noticed in the airport scene when Anatoly punches Oliver, Felicity's up front (and it looks like they think Anatoly's just going to welcome them before the punch) and Diggle and Dinah are back. This promo makes it look like they might try to push that divide - Oliver/Diggle/Dinah and Felicity/Rory/Curtis. Hopefully it's just the way the promo was cut. After all, we've seen how other promos are. For all we know, the others are in that scene too - just not at that moment. Or Oliver figures Rory's magic rags can always save them. I don't know if they'd go on a side mission in another country when the Bratva is involved without Oliver knowing. That might be too risky.

That's been my fear ever since we found out Tina is Dinah and especially when we saw Diggle and Dinah together in the promo. "Let's get a drink. Felicity, go back to the hotel with the kids. At least Isabel isn't here, right?" Cue Anatoly punch. I will say that Rene's continual protests about hating/working with metas is a point in favor of Dinah/Rene happening because that's such a TV thing to do. "I hate metas. But now I'm going to date one!" (But please, don't let that be something he does every week. Did he not learn after The Flash and Supergirl saved him?)

So after 511, I feel like 512 is very likely Rory's last episode because he's the only one who knows where Felicity got the info that freed Diggle. :(

The Starling City Times: News and Media about Arrow
insomniadreams88 replied to Grammaeryn's topic in Arrow
Nope. Doing that would be a huge mistake. Ship the newbies off and let OTA shine again. -
She's so good, we don't need an explanation.
-
But don't you know - she's not going to betray Oliver because of "genuine feelings" so she's not bad. I will be actively cheering on Rene next week. Someone needs to have Lance's back.
-
No, she is. It's just how they put together the promo.
-
Yeah, this is the problem there. (And I really don't want to hear that canary cry every week.) It's why I actually hope Prometheus has a dampener to use against her. Otherwise ... Prometheus, you'll be letting me down after knowing everything about BS/Sara/etc.
-
Yep. Probably because there won't be time to have that in later episodes. So they figure, throw it all in here so that we can have Dinah show up at his office for the final scene and the big "Dinah Drake" reveal.
-
Yeah, I agree. I think it's also because we knew that she was going to sign up to join the team by episode's end, so it was just dragging the inevitable.
-
So far, I'm not seeing Felicity doing anything - or anything being set up - that would have anyone be mad at her for what she's doing. I guess they did just say "darker," so... Still disappointing. I'm also guessing we're not going to see Dinah meet Felicity, Diggle or Rory and she'll instead already be part of the team when 5x12 begins. Going off that promo, I'd think it's only Oliver, Diggle and Dinah going to Russia. Didn't see anyone else there from the team. (Did I miss someone?) Hopefully the photos will show the others.
-
I think the "second chance" was another chance to say the episode's title. That's it. I will say that when I looked at the clock when Tina Dinah walked into Oliver's office, I thought that there would be enough time for another scene before the episode ended. Wish there had been.
-
A few quick thoughts: Why couldn't we see Felicity visiting Diggle in prison? Or any scenes with those two? That was such a disappointment. I will say I think Felicity looked happy for the first time in a long time while she was hacking and I like that she has fans. Also liked Felicity/Rory. Felicity finally has a friend?! So far, I'm not liking Dinah as a permanent member of the team. Maybe stopping by a few times a season, but that's it. And I really don't want to hear that canary cry on a weekly basis. Liked Talia. Can she come to play in the present instead? And Oliver ... Can he please stop telling people who he is? Especially in a public place like that. Anyone could have just walked in.

They are selling Tina/Dinah way too hard. I hope that's not the case in future episodes. (But I fear it will be.)
-
Hey, maybe they're going to put Dinah and Lance together. It doesn't seem like they're going to bring back Donna. Just ignore that she has the same name as his ex-wife and she's going to be taking up his daughter's mantle. I don't think the age difference would matter to them. (I don't think this is going to happen, but hey, why not throw out a crazy theory?)

Vigilante?
-
So the only thing we've gotten for the Felicity/Diggle of this episode is that WM interview? Not one photo or clip, not one mention in that new preview just posted...
-
You know, Arrow is really fortunate that there are apparently no other cities that could use vigilantes. Especially, in this case, Hub City. They're going and taking someone who's supposedly doing some good there to get on their radar and bringing her to a city where they have an entire team of masks.

This would have been such a good storyline for 5A. They could have just had her hiding it but slipping occasionally to let the audience know what was going on but have the other characters completely oblivious. They could have even had someone from another show pick it up during the crossover but it get lost in everything else going on, so they could still stretch it out until 5B for everyone else to notice. But yeah, it gets really sad when you start listing out everything that happened to Felicity in S4 and think about how they had so much to explore and didn't. Billy might as well have been her friend. He basically was (just a friend she also had sex with). Or Felicity didn't even need to necessarily know him. But Oliver could have been put in a position to kill a good cop part of his ACU and after Felicity had to make that awful decision about Havenrock and then saw what Prometheus did to Oliver with that, she decided she had enough of the villain putting them in positions like that and went on her own path. But nope. Felicity had to have a BF so Oliver could date Susan (and maybe Dinah).
-
Oh my God, Billy was not this important when he was alive. There was no "spring in Felicity's step." She was not happy with him. She could barely choke out his name/call him her boyfriend. (Did she call him Billy before 509? I feel like it was always "Detective Malone," which was just weird for the guy she was dating.) WM needs to stop talking. But if they do go there with Oliver/Dinah and Olicity is truly over for good, I expect this arc of Felicity's, which apparently couldn't happen if Billy hadn't died, to be the best thing the show ever did. Otherwise, why kill off her boyfriend? Why put her through even more pain? I do have to say that I'm tentatively excited for this tease about Felicity and Diggle because it means they have to give us Felicity/Diggle scenes, right? Come on, show. At least don't let me down there.

Well, the sneak peek features that ridiculous line about Laurel, so there we go. Also, I love Rory so much in that clip.
-
I really want Lance to get out of rehab, meet Dinah and go, "Hey, that's my ex-wife's name."
-
They probably forgot about that.
