  1. That's what I was thinking. And with the front of Oliver's desk covered in that BTS photo, my guess is bullet holes there. (Now to start wondering who's on the couch in that photo again.)
  2. It would be hilarious if LoT saves Laurel just like BS said she was ... and then no one believes that it's her. "No, sorry, heard that before. Try again." "But - " "No."
  3. But promotion doesn't matter if it's not what's in the episodes. If they promote an episode with character X but the focus of the episode turns out to be on character Y, people aren't going to be happy and they might not tune in the next week.
  4. This is what always happens. Earlier this season when MG made some comment about shippers and ratings, LL fans were saying that it was because they killed off Laurel that people weren't watching. It's what happens with any show really. Groups of fans will claim ratings are lower because a character was killed off or left/a couple broke up/etc. But lack of promotion definitely doesn't help and I feel like the CW has kind of been weak in that regard for most of its shows this season.
  5. Oh, I'm just tired of the same wording over and over again. Just like the one Q about Thea in all the interviews posted yesterday was basically what they had said over the summer too. It's just nothing new.
  6. Maybe they do. Considering the only thing we know that's coming up for Lance other than the BTS photos with Pike is an interview about his addiction right after he gets out of rehab... But yeah, that's a terrible idea. Hasn't Lance been through enough? Or ... what if Oliver thinks that he can get through to BS by having Lance talk to her? (Please don't do this.) So, they really love saying they want to give Felicity a story "outside her relationship with Oliver," don't they? That's just getting annoying at this point.
  7. And really, if she gets really pissed at them, what's to stop her from just turning that canary cry of hers on them? It's not going to happen because she's their new BC, but it's tricky bringing in people who have magic/powers/etc. Bringing in Rory and his rags could have backfired on them and he could have turned on Felicity because of Havenrock. Oliver invited him to join the team knowing about Havenrock but not really knowing much about those rags. What if he hadn't turned out to be the best of the recruits? What if he had turned on them? Tina is now a wild card - they don't know her, other than what they're going to read about her, right? - and they're just going to trust her? I hope we get some sort of explanation for this.
  8. It sounds like WM is basically saying, "Like Tina! Like Tina! You will like Tina because she's the best!" Also, I still don't like this whole "Tina is Oliver's equal" thing. It may not be what they mean, but it's sounding a bit offensive to every other person who has been on the team/worked with them. And if Tina is Oliver's equal, what does that mean comparing her to say, Prometheus? Speaking of Prometheus, I wonder if he'll have some sort of dampener to use against Tina - I bet he knows she exists because he knows everything. Are they saying that Tina is his equal because Oliver's going to be sticking to being mayor more, so they basically think that if they tell us Tina is Oliver's equal then they can just have her in the field instead of him? I don't get it.
  9. Honestly? I think the show forgot about the chip the moment that 4x17 ended. Wasn't that the last episode it was mentioned in? They needed her to get it so she wasn't in a wheelchair anymore and to make Curtis "terrific," then for bee lady to go after Felicity and then ... nothing. Also, I was thinking - do we think that Prometheus brought in BS to go after Felicity specifically or did it just end up that way, with BS targeting Felicity, because of the events of the episode? It would be one way to go after Oliver - have his ex-girlfriend's doppelganger target his ex-fiancee.
  10. I wonder if they're going to rank these women they decide to look into to become the next BC. Say, in case Tina doesn't work out, they have a second choice, third, etc. The beginning of the extended promo basically made it seem like Oliver was ruling out some options and then as soon as Curtis says, "hey, cry," Oliver decides, "Yep." Is the canary cry the only actual requirement? I would actually kind of like it if, even after they recruit Tina, they sort of keep other possibilities in their minds and don't just decide, "Okay, we're set." Also, please tell me they vet Tina completely. I'm talking have everyone they know who can run a background check run a background check, look into her whereabouts for the last oh, say, 10 years, and make sure there's no way she could have crossed paths with Prometheus or any of their enemies, call up some references, etc.
  11. That just makes me fear that Oliver brings Tina back to Star City, tells Felicity to help her find whoever she's looking for and that's another reason Felicity recruits other people to help with Prometheus - because Oliver's clearly not making him a priority and is instead picking up all these other things (helping BS, recruiting a BC/helping her, mayoral business, etc.).
  12. Well, we do have 512 coming up with Rene running interference for the Lance/Susan interview, so unless Thea's out of town for another conference, I'm going to assume she has to be there for that and hope they just left her out of the description because... I don't know. I'm going to assume that since Thea knows that Susan's shady, she wouldn't just leave Lance to handle her on his own, so maybe she recruits Rene to help her? I don't know. Just give Thea something to do. Maybe Thea and Rene will bond then, so we'll get something for Thea?
  13. Yeah, that "Thea's at a conference" thing was weak. And I fully expect them to continue to use something like that. I see lots of out-of-town conferences, business at City Hall, etc. in her future. Maybe she'll occasionally suit up as Speedy, stand on a roof and talk to Oliver and then disappear when it's time for the action. Though there is supposed to be more mayoral stuff coming up, so maybe we'll get more Thea then? But maybe not, if they want to focus on Oliver as mayor and not Thea covering for him.
  14. We'll learn that fortunately, a lot of women in CC became metas with canary cries (until one sticks) but none of them will pop up until they're needed.
  15. So, the 511 extended promo. I think we're supposed to be all, "Oh, look, Tina's a badass." But it's more, "Why is this the woman you want to be the new Black Canary? Is it just because of the cry?" I think that's also because I don't understand the thought process here. Like I said in the 510 thread, their plan seems to be: Also, after that preview, I'm really interested in seeing how Oliver, Rene and Curtis convince Tina to not only move to Star City and become the new Black Canary, but also how they all convince her to go off to Russia with them in 512. I'm expecting some pretty impressive speeches.
  16. Question: Did BS scream more times in this episode than LL used the Canary cry in all her episodes with it? It seems like she did.
  17. I just read that and wow. Okay. How dare Felicity punch the villain who spent the episode pretending to be their dead friend, screaming at all of them, trying to kill her and working for Prometheus.
  18. I'm going to pretend that BS can control her abilities and didn't want to kill everyone because Prometheus told her not to. As for the last scream, uh, proximity to the tech Curtis made? I know that doesn't make sense but that's the show. I really liked that moment of Felicity clearly testing her. Also, forgot to mention this in my post earlier: loved Felicity/Rory in this episode. Give me all the Felicity/Rory scenes!
  19. That's what I thought it would be. Expected the last scene in last night's Flash to be just that, not Gypsy coming for H.R. Maybe they'll redeem her on The Flash and prove Oliver right. Or she's going to escape ARGUS and terrorize CC once again, they'll have to lock her back up in the pipeline and Oliver will still say, "But maybe there's some Laurel in her!" (Or more likely, Arrow just won't care about her anymore.)
  20. Talia only introduced herself as "Talia," right? No last name? Maybe that's why Oliver's never mentioned meeting Talia al Ghul - he doesn't know that's who she is? (Of course, that could change in an upcoming episode.) That photo is going to outlive everyone on the show.
  21. Question: Was it ever definitively said that KC is going to be on The Flash or is it just because of the deal across all the shows that people are saying she's going to be? I think KC said something at a convention about being BS on both Arrow and The Flash but I could be remembering wrong?
  22. A few quick thoughts: I am 100% here for the Felicity we got in this episode. Suspicious right from the start, giving the recruits orders, training, etc. Always listen to Overwatch. That should be the team motto. Oliver should maybe get that tattooed on his arm so he can look at it every day. That punch did not disappoint. I can understand Oliver's POV about Earth-2 Laurel, but it's still stupid. I feel like the only reason they had him say he's keeping her close to find some part of Laurel in there is to make people think she might come back. By this logic, they should treat all the Harrison Wells characters they're bringing from different Earths in a similar way, but we haven't seen that. I feel like the Oliver and Felicity conversations we saw tonight make a lot more sense than what we've seen thus far in S5 for two people who were engaged last year. Oliver was being a bit of a dick, but it could have been worse. And I think it's all part of the whole "Oliver's being optimistic" thing they have going on now, despite everything that just happened. Surprised "Laurel" asked about her father. Not surprised Thea just so happened to be out of town. Can only imagine Oliver going to visit Diggle again and going, "So, uh, about Laurel being alive... I was an idiot?" Did Oliver describe Diggle as his "current friend" or did I mishear? Because that's just weird if so. I did like how Chase handled Diggle's case and the general, so there's that. (I have been vocal about wanting more Chase, and I'm glad we got that here.) I actually didn't hate Rene in this episode? And I felt bad for Curtis. I'm fine with him sticking to "tinkering" as long as it doesn't move into "and I'll also do all this stuff that Felicity could once do on her own like we got at times in 5A." Rory is still my favorite, and I love that he was the one to question how BS knew what she did. (But how does Prometheus know all this stuff? Explain that to me, show, please.) Also, I hope someone went to check on him after he was knocked out. Or maybe it was another Roy situation - they figured their names are similar enough. Is it just me or was Billy mentioned more in this episode than he was when he was alive? (I feel like that's to cue up Felicity's 5B arc.) And I get that they want to honor Laurel's dying wish (which wasn't even a dying wish and just plain weird), but all I got from what we saw of Tina is someone who has the canary cry and ... Why would she want to be the new Black Canary? Going off that last scene with Oliver and Felicity, it seems like their plan is: "Need a new Black Canary. Find a woman who can be that. Recruit her. Tell her she's the new Black Canary. And done." Lucky for them, someone with a canary cry just so happens to pop up at that moment. ETA: I have to admit I loved seeing Oliver protecting Felicity and covering her ears instead of his own.
  23. I feel like 510 definitely began to set up Felicity turning to people other than Oliver to get stuff done. I guess they're going to continue to plant the seeds in 511 and 512 too and then launch into her arc after that.
  24. Part of me hopes that whatever Oliver/Lance scene we have coming up in 513 (? Wasn't that the episode they were shooting when those BTS photos in the mayor's office were posted?) is Lance putting in his resignation from City Hall because of the Susan crap in 512 and then he goes back to SCPD (hence bringing Pike back in and those BTS photos).
  25. Don't forget that she's going to be interviewing Lance about his addiction. I don't care if they try to make it look like she wants him to tell his side; he just got out of rehab and she's going to want him to talk about why he was in there. It sounds like she waits for Oliver to jet off to Russia and then bam, goes for her story.
